Very impressive video on this Mackie Monitor! Would you recommend this for an eDrum kit..Roland TD 07 KV. I like the weight of the Mackie versus the Roland 200 amp. Cheers!
I bought a pair of these along with a Thump 118s sub. The "thru" output doesn't pass along the Bluetooth signal. The only way BT works is via the link option. I went with these because of the BT feature mainly. Thinking about the ease of running these and not needing to drag along a mixer. I asked Mackie what their thoughts were behind this and got no response other than... we will pass this along to our team.
why not just use a mixer that has bt support or get a bluetooth dongle for a mixer. Simple solutions. mixers can get rlly small too if "dragging" along a mixer is the issue.
@@yonickmyman totally. I ended up buying a Bluetooth adapter. My issue is they push these at Bluetooth capable… which they are to an extent. My thoughts were for using these without a mixer in some instances. 75% of the time I need the mixer so it’s no big deal. But other times it would be nice to have these linked and not have to worry about the extra cables and mixer.
@@rcb_matt it seems so bizarre to me to pay thousands for a PA system and then ruin the quality by using Bluetooth. Just pay 5 more bucks for an aux cable or something, come on! Your audience will thank you :)

Great review! Question: do you think this speaker would work well as a powered speaker for a bass guitar in a live music setting? (My bass guitar signal goes direct through a DI box to a mixer and then out to a powered speaker.)
I have a question. I linked both speakers. I have one connecting to my mixer using xlr. I only hear the music out of the hard wired one, how do i get the other speaker to get audio?
Would this be good to play guitar through? I want a home setup where I can play guitar with backing tracks or jump on the drums and play along to covers. Basically is there good balance (lows, mids, highs) to use for a home jam band?
I'm wondering.... I direct children's classroom musicals. We perform in the school gym/multi-purpose room (audience: 100-150 parents). I have an older pair of Thump 15" speakers which are due to be replaced. Would 12" speakers be undersized for our venue. Low end is not an issue. To make children's voices audible, we need more high than low. I'm looking at the 215XT speakers now, but I'd prefer the 212XT if they were loud enough for our venue.
please help. looking for a loud, clear and bassy loudspeaker and found the mackie 215 and the macki 212 XT which have the same price. To note that am a begineer dj who plays in family parties etc, well up to 120 pax. so, which 1 to go with? the 215 seems to have more bass but is it worth sacrificing the other additional options on the 212 Xt to go for the additional bass on the 215?
Are these better than the JBL eon 712? I'm torn...I usually prefer mackies but the jbls have a 3 channel built in eq. I have my own Allen and heath so I guess it doesn't really matter...but I can't decide. These will be used.for small karaoke gigs
came across the thump215 and thrash215 and heard that thump is better. but the thing is that theres only 60 USD price difference between the 2. so, is there a big difference in terms of sound?
Just picked these up this week, should the signal light stay on consistently or is it normal for it to be flickering? I’ve noticed no distortion or loss of sound/signal when the light flickers, just new to these speakers and want to confirm it’s nothing to be concerned about. Thanks!
Your good. Flickering signal just means that u haven’t sent max volume to the speaker yet. Always set volume at your source so that it’s not clipping and unity in speaker then adjust master volume until u see a solid light and enjoy clear sound
Excellent review. I speak here from Brazil. I'm starting a sound company for events (weddings, parties) and I'm thinking about purchasing a couple of speakers like this. Sound equipment is very expensive here, but I think a Mackie like this is worth the investment, right?
You could use it for karaoke, but I probably wouldn’t use that feature - it lowers the volume of the music in general, not just the vocals. Thanks for watching!
