    Hi Andy , great review. Just for your own information the abs light is illuminated until the abs modulator received a 4mph signal from the front and back wheel speed sensors, if it doesn't go out these are where to start 👍 all the best.

    Bought one few months back, great bike but when the fuel range says 16 miles left it’s lying........ trust the gauge meter but not the range meter.

    For everyone that has a k 1200 : The gearbox gets less clunky if you blip the throttle in on the upshifts . I am talking about 1st 2 where most of the clunkiness is . The higher om the revs you change gears and the fasyer you do it the smoother it gets it really doesn't like lazy shifts. Also when you start the bike press the clutch lever for few seconds and keep it there before you engage 1st gear when bike is still cold .

    I tried a Blue and white with 13k one of these out that had been sat in someone's garage for a long time. Dealer was selling it on behalf of a customer.
    First ride out one plug failed and it ran like a pig.
    I took it back, they had to remove the radiator to put new plugs in.
    They called me back to the shop a week later and I went out a second time.
    This time the clutch was slipping badly. They called the customer and then told me it was a sale or return for the customer and I wouldn't get any warranty.
    After talking to a couple of mechanics I know they said don't touch it.
    I did my own online research and I'm afraid it was too much of a risk and I wouldn't be swapping my Daytona 675 for it plus £1000.

    • @suffolkandy
      @suffolkandy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They do say, do not touch the earlier models as they had a lot of teething problems. The 2007/2008 are the best to have. Mine is 2007 and has been virtually trouble-free. Hope that helps

    Hi Andy
    Just a quick question
    You have had the BMW K1200s for some time now, I'm looking at a 2005 K1200s with 11,000 mile near mint condition but does not have the ESA or computer just trip button I can can get it for £3100 so what I'm asking is if your 1200s did not come with ESA or a full computer option would you still of bought the bike.

    • @suffolkandy
      @suffolkandy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have to say yes the k1200s is a good bike the 207 and 208 are the best but at 11000 miles it will be like new i do love this bike i have a zzr1200 to but always go for the bmw rsm

  • @WEGGYZZR

    Crackin machine mate..will have to give it a run at some point..
    One thing i will say is youre tyre pressures seem well low in reading..
    At least i would be running that around 36 psi front and 42 psi back....That considering the fact you have Amy on the back and also you can soften up the ride slightly on mode switch..
    Itll tighten up the ride as it should be and keep ya tyres in good shape..
    Remember the zzr as standard just as my zx12r did ...they run 42psi front and back...

    • @LenScapoff
      @LenScapoff 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the reading being shown is bar, not psi, so the front is about 37 psi and the rear about 41 psi.

    NIce review, this has been added to my short list of replacements for the old biffer. One question though, is the headlight any good? My biffer isn't quite worthless but it's not a patch on the old foxeye fazer(twin h4's).

      Can't help you on the headlight as I haven't been on it at night yet lol, but I will say, if you can get low mileage and a 2007/2008, you'll probably have a cracking bike RSMF

    Brake failure light could be a dying battery. ABS needs some juice to init properly, once you start driving the bike powers itself from the engine, not the battery anymore. My 1150 has it after some weeks of not movin her, goes away when the bat is fully loaded again. Beautiful machine man! Thinking of gettine one myself. I love my boxer but sometimes a fourbanger is what I desire. Don't want to kill myself on an S1000 though.

    Hi Andy, great review! I have a 2006 K1200S which I bought in April 2016 and have done 10k miles on it which has mainly consisted of 5 euro tours. I absolutely love it. It does have its issues, it's had the servoectomy carried out. The servo gave up at 19k by the way. Despite that, it's been brilliant. Very reliable and easy to work on too. Tyre wise, I use Michelin PR4's, they're fantastic. Looking forward to more videos!

    • @suffolkandy
      @suffolkandy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Certainly a good bike :) Loving every minute of riding on it. The power is mind-boggling and the handling is excellent and the brakes are far superior to my ZZR 1200. So, all in all, I'ma happy bod lol RSMF

  • @WheelsNotHeels

    lol..."trust me, it's clunky"
    Sounds & looks like a super nice bike, Andy.
    I like that option that lets you know tire pressure & the one that shows how many miles left for that amount of gas.
    What does the "k" mean in the k1200s?

    • @suffolkandy
      @suffolkandy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The gearbox is a bit clunky, but the majority of bikes usually are. What the K stands for, I think is just the model of the bike RSMF

    • @django1

    I guess I don't follow... on the clunky gear box... can you elaborate ?

    • @suffolkandy
      @suffolkandy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      All I can say is the gearbox is quite clunky through the gears. It's not as smooth as a lot of bikes, but after riding the bike for a time, I don't think it would bother you that much. I can say after a year and three quarters of riding the BMW, I still get great satisfaction RSMF
