No nonsense and stupid useless information fantastic video. I've been wanting to buy the 404 but not knowing how the route the effects has stopped me from buying thx so much for this amazing video 🙏
What an amazing compliment! Thank you so much. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@ABSTRACT_MUSIC plz make more sp404 tuts 😭😭😭
@@shoujocafe6757 I can do that, what do you want specifically?
How do you bounce your beat with the sp404 effects(can the project be saved to a DAW)? I’m going to rewatch in case I missed it.
Thanks bro
Ive seen all types of videos on
Here and this is the most straight forward one ive seen
Thus far💪🏿
Thank you so much. I was getting crazy.. because I dreamed about, doing this, and tried, and. tried... And now I'm happy.
Basic, simple and very helpful video tutorial, thanks alot;) 💪🏽👍🏾💥
Where did you find tose knobs for the Live II? Sweet look! I'd love some for my MPC One Retro.
Thank you for this! I have a question how are you able to hook up the mpc and the sp404 to your speakers to hear them both
im assuming youre using the mpc speakers for main out? id want to do this but connecting the main outs to speakers or my daw, but im scared of a feedback loop and the speakers blowing out.
and why do you use outputs 3/4 vs just 1/2?
now i just need to learn how to connect it all to a mixer ....this video helped a ton...thaNKS
Hey is there anyway I can hook it up to the MPC one? It has way less in’s and out’s. Help me!!
Thank You! Very helpful!
Love this video I have a back question is it a way to connect this to a sound system speakers and monitors? Also what setting on the sp404 is it line in or Mix Out?
I watched this video and learned so much. Im subscribed now, I loved how detailed and fluid this was. II'm about to watch all your videos, but after this - I would love to see what your top effects for various instruments and how you use them.
Thank you for the Video dude! I did the first couple of things you said and I’m getting sound out but no MFX from the sp404 mk2. I’m sadddd:(((
Dope Video . How are you getting sound from the outputs ? Headphone jack ?
Same issue no sound coming out..
@@BillyVintageBlass I'm going to try later tonight. It looks like he's getting sound through the built in speakers. Headphone out might work . Hopefully
@@SlyDanger805 I have the same unit, ok cool, yea headphone out is an option..
Hello Good afternoon,I had a question on which knobs are the ones you are using for the. q-links and the action wheel?, I like the way the color of the knobs are with the retro color of the MPC-2 color and the wheel sound too, very informative video aswell, thank you so much.
finally got a content I wanted. thanks so much for this guide
Bro what about connecting to MPC One ?
Get a Mackie mix8
Where’d you get the custom knobs on the q links?
But why not have it plugged in the Master outputs vs 3/4?!? What’s the difference??🔥
Someone please answer this 😩
I just got sp404 and I didn’t get any sound when I tried this method what did I do wrong
incredible you should be making more videos
Great combo! The beats are 🔥🔥🔥
Thank You for time and effort to make this vid
Cool bro. Thanks for posting 🙌🏾
How do i set this up so i could hear it out my speakers
I use a 1/4inch to 2x 1/4inch cable running from the 1/4 headphone output on the 404 into my speakers.
What cables do you need for this?
Quater inch cables
Where did you get the knobs for your Retro?
Awesome, I was wondering why peeps with an MPC would have an SP404Mk2
I Have mpc x se And Rolland 404 mk2 Ind i dont know how internal setup Rolland to recording from mpc i can sampler everything from Rolland but i dont know how make IT other way round
Great video! Helped me a lot. Thank you
Are the two pair of cables separate each other red and black as individual? or is it a pair as "y" for the plug-in? Can you name how the cables are known to buy them?
Is there a way to use the SP404 as a backup machine? Like can I copy my tracks and programs over to it just in case my MPC crashes and then continue my workflow?
Is it a way to connect the sp404 and mpc live 2 to speakers?
Do you have a link to those grey knobs on the mpc?
They are aluminum knobs I got off of Amazon and then spray painted myself. I never liked the look of the black knobs with the Retro Grey color MPC .
Wonder what else you can connect it to? Maschine?? Synths? 🤔
I set this up with my focusrite on controller mode and I'm not receiving any sound.
Great Video. Straight to the topic with no BS. My Noob question is, can you use the SPK404 not just for effects like incorporating the sounds for both unit ?
Not sure why you used output 3/4 instead of output 1/2, can you put information why? Thanks
Dope video!
Is there any reason why this method wouldn’t work? speakers are on, outputs on akai are assigned , both units are updated. I just picked up the 404, but if I can’t use it with my akai i might as well take it back
Hey man, you help me out a lot but I have one question, okay this is how I hooked up my unit. I got the machine mk3 and the MPC live hooked up to a mixboard through the SP404, I also have a m audio interface solo dolo and I'm trying to run it on the software. Can you help me out?
Great video. Thank you for sharing. Your MPC looks amazing. Where did you get those matching colored knobs from? Blessings!
Thanks! I have affiliate links for the knobs.

And the red volume knob is a Chroma cap red fatty knob from DJ Tech Tools
@@ABSTRACT_MUSIC ❤👊
Does it make a difference whether the cables are TS or TRS?
Great video. Really appreciate it
Also very dope and helpful. Thank you 🙏🏿
love it man that's dope.
awesome vid sir
is it that worth it to have a machine like that only as a MultiFX pedal? just got one to work with my MPC X but im not convinced the £400 I spent on it only to use as a MultiFX, specially because the Akai FX is not that bad at all...Just can't get my head on the Sp404MK2 workflow is just...i dont get it ;0!!!! Regrets...sorry :)
what kind of cables are those?
Thankyou workshop🎉
Noob question: What cable are you using to hook those two up?
Does it have to be unbalanced cables?
Would this work the same with the MPC 500? Looking to sample though the 500 into the live
This works great for stand alone, but if I have my MPC connected through the USB-B port and MPC software I don't get a signal through the SP404mk2 w/EXT Source on. But I hear the MPC just fine Any suggestions? Thanks
I can’t remember but I don’t think the MPC does audio over USB.
What are the cables I have to get?
this video is amazing - i wish the audio was going right to video instead of room sound
Yoow this is what i need thanksss
Bro I done everything you have and only 2 effects play out of all mines l, why is that.. can I send you a video please
Thankyou bro👍
bruh 🔥🔥🔥
Is it connected to a DAW though
Thank you🙏🏿🙏🏿
What about midi everybody use the sp404mkii for effects how about midi?
Thank u bro
Can you record those effect ??
That’s what I don’t understand. If the MPC has those same FX used under the XYZ axis pad, then why do ppl still use the SP w/the MP? 🤔
I wish there was a way to print the fx without resampling it on the MPC
Do you know how to connect with mpc one to sp-404?
Yes, you could go out of your MPC one, into the SP. Then out of the SP, into the sample input of the One and enable monitor in the sample menu of your MPC. And you would listen through your headphones jack. Alternatively you can go out of your headphone jack and into the SP, and from the SP back into the sample input of your MPC. Then you can still use output 1 and 2. 👍👍👍
@@ABSTRACT_MUSIC Thank you for your answer! But I tried to copy the video you posted, but it doesn't connect.
Maybe it's because there are not many output terminals in MPC one like MPC live II , so there's no place to connect it. I think the cable connected to the MAIN terminal of MPC ONE is not working. The connection of the SP's OUTPUT from the MPC ONE's INPUT is normal.
@@gggr4444 Get a little mixer like the Mackie mix8 and then you're good
Did you solve it? I’m in the same position and don’t get it to work.
What cables do you use ?
what’s the name of the cables?
They're 6ft long 1/4in cables. I had 4 of them.
What keeps the tempo in sync between both devices?
They don’t need to be tempo synced when you’re using fx only. If you needed them to be tempo synced you’d have to use the midi on both devices.
I give it up!!!!! I’m throwing my sp 404 in the trash 😂 I can’t do it smh
Dope
Great video dude! Question for you, do you think it’s worth it to get the latest model if it’s purely for effects or the previous model is sufficient enough?
Hey man! I don't think you need to get the latest model if it's purely for fx. However, the MK2 is soooo dope as a standalone sampler. In my opinion it's the best 404.
Dope…!!!
I have a Live 2 but the 404 keeps calling me. Now maybe I'll go for the combo.
👍
Bruh you a fucking God for this video 😩
Wait, how you getting sound?
Did you find out?
where goes the master cabeln in !!! to the speakers !!???
My question as well let me know if you found the solution
@@aokbeatz726 yes man i am a worker !!! and it has be done !! i conneted my old tr 808 with the 404 !!! and it goes deep !!! smoove dope drum sound !!! but next time i ask you !!! you was the only who called back thanx for that !!!! keep rocking !!!
It didn’t work 😢
I did this but my SP404 MK2 isn’t cooperating. Tried putting the program, master on 3/4, and ensured my external source was on. Could it be something in the settings of the SP or MPC?
