@@boyneeto Do you know if the firmware supports two way communication for the RGB lighting? I'm going to use the Xinput from the board to control aspects of a C# application and I'm wondering if it was possible for that application to control the lighting on the board? Basically when a certain state is encountered in the program, it would light up certain buttons on the controller with certain colors is what I would like to achieve if possible.
I like how much you seem to like teaching people how to get more comfortable with their sticks, it makes getting into fighting games a lot less intimidating and I love seeing the community thrive. Thanks bro!
This is a really high-quality video and made me 100% lock that the Haute r16 would be the leverless I'll be getting I was afraid I wouldn't know how to do anything with it but this put all my fears to rest!
you are a SAINT!!! Ive been using multiple videos trying to scour the internet only to find vague videos that dont explain much but you heard my prayers and put all of the information i needed in detail thank you so much
I've been wanting to do some custom stuff in mine for a bit and wasn't sure where to start. It's a great guide, and I'm glad you covered both software and hardware customization!
Thanks for the succinct video, I was looking for a leverless controller for a while and was afraid I would need a lot of cash to try it out. Just ordered my S16 for less the 50 bucks, your video will come in handy.
Great choice! We live in a great time where fighting game controllers are more accessible than ever. Have fun and hope this guide is helpful, if you have any questions in the future lmk!
This is an amazing video. Ive been looking to see if it was possible to just toss stickers on a controller and have a little protection (havent received my controller yet) and now im thinking of back art i want. Its crazy how customizable these controllers are at their price point. Would have never known without this video. Again great work.
I was so hyped for my R16 to arrive that I watched this video two times. It's really well put together and aesthetically done well! I love the custom designs you came up with. Is there any chance we could get the artwork template with the button cutouts, please?
One thing i saw from the haute42 discord; Someone used custom acrylic top plates and art work to cover up buttons that were not needed (The unwanted buttons and leds can be unbinded in the software) such as the L3/R3 and M1/M2 buttons to create a 13 or 14 button hitbox.
Damn! I threw away a lot of my old magazines a long time ago, this would've been a better way to put them to good use. Now I'm kicking myself lmao. Thanks for sharing!
Great video! It really encompasses everything you can do with this stick. Makes me consider getting a cutting machine myself since I have like 20+ prints from FA at this point. Do you know the model of the cutting machine?
Thanks dude! And holy moly you love your customs haha, I’m using a silhouette cameo 3, got it a while back. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend getting a cutter JUST for fightstick customs but it definitely makes it easier. You can also look into a cricuit cutter as well I hear they’re not bad
It was a very easy to understand video! By the way, where did you get this illustration? I also want to customize my Akecon and am looking for good illustrations. Please let me know if you like!🙏
I know this is super noobish of me but i wish you would of shown some of the cutting process. I did it by hand myself the first time and it came out pretty rough, luckily the borders of the actual faceplate hides most of the mistakes.
I don’t mind doing artwork by hand, but since I have a cutting machine, it was way easier. Luckily yeah you’re right the buttons cover up cutting mistakes if any
Could you make a vid on how to actually use the cutter machine? My local library one one I can book I think, but I have no idea how to use either the dwg or psd to line up the cuts correctly with my printed paper. Dope vid tho.
when i go to custom led theme the only options for stick lay out is "stick leverless and wasd" so it doesnt let me set the led for the button above the down button
I’d head over to the discord, someone might have an answer to this specifically? For me on the R16 it just registered as the same up button so when you customize the LED of the one it automatically do it for the other one as well because they do the same thing. Not sure if that answered your question but defs check the discord!
Of course they come out with the full crystal switches instead of the red/orange ones and the button grooves on the faceplate like a month after i bought the older version. I can deal with the little red lights but i want those button grooves so bad. I wonder if it is possible to just order the front plate?
hey thanks for asking but i p much just did it in my cutting machine software, just added some circles - check the haute42 discord tho a lot of people have posted theirs!
Seeing your post on Reddit made me wanna get art for my G16, having a cutter definitely seems to make the process much much better. Any chance you’d be doing any sort of selling these precut artwork?
you can absolutely try to DIY with a xacto knife but a cutter is seriously hacks. not sure if i'll ever sell precut stuff or start a service i'd have to look into it tho. defs ask around theres gotta be a mom in your friend group that does scrapbooking and has a cutter haha
@boyneeto Hello! I have a question! i loved your guide! i actually ordered a haute42 controller and your video was a big factor and very helpful! One thing i couldn't find anywhere (and you didn't show it either i think) is when you add Button Art, does the LED still shine through?

sorry if you see this twice, i also commented on your reddit post i'm planning on getting the R16 and i really wanted to get the black colored one, but since the top panel is matte theres no way i can add custom art... do you think that by using sticky legal size paper i could just slap an artwork on top of the top panel and it would stick and also feel good in my hand? i've never held one of those... how do i find Pictures like the Sakura one on ur screen ?
Ok so what should I do if my artwork doesn’t have a stem cut out ? Should I I try cutting it myself? And I got my art from focus attack
You can try a hole puncher, that’d probably work well now that I think about it
@ yea it work out fairly well the holes weren’t super centered but it still looks good this
On the custom led screen i have no option to select my 16 key layout, it just lets me select leverless. is this a known issue?
Do the extra buttons really make a difference? I’m looking for my preferred controller style for fighting games and the T and R series look like ah awesome way to try out leverless, is it really worth it to go for the 16 button models over the 13 button ones? This is peak.
By chance what is the USB-C cord that you use? I like the look of that one and the one I bought is a bit too flimsy
Using the right angle one they provided with the R16, try to get a good quality one if possible because cheap ones tend to disconnect
