    In case anyone hates Visual Novels, Isayama tried to emulate the experience he felt during his favorite visual novel by creating Attack on Titan. He still feels like he couldn't do his inspiration proper justice (the ending, however you feel about it aside).

      I do wonder if the Fritz x Ymir stuff was inspired by the Jacopo x Morgana stuff (my guess, but it's the one that sticks out to me as the clear inspiration). The problem being that, while Jacopo is ultimately humanized, albeit having done some really shitty stuff, Fritz never had that, so it just seemed like the weird stockholm sydrome-esque relationship. That's why the letting go and closure in THIFM works while it doesn't in AoT, at least regarding those two storylines. That's how I read it at least but I'm happy to admit if I'm reading into either incorrectly

    The scene after Michel's backstory where Giselle appears and comforts him and acceps him as who he is? That made me cry. The whole chapter up to that point had been suffering upon suffering and I was so invested in Michel's story that I genuinely felt horrible after the whole crucifixion thing happened, but that scene was just so cathartic that I couldn't hold back tears. Incredibly beautiful, writing, visuals and music alike.

    Not only that but Jacopo is maybe the best Fata character in this story it's unbelievable.

      Mindset matters a lot. I would only consider inarguable evil people "failures". So get rid of that mindset, and look for new things as memories are strong. "Everything I do" is pretty broad. Are you talking about sporting, academic, social, career or what? I have a friend who has had a long lasting relationship since highschool. I have a good degree/job. People are suited for different things. I am not the best at socializing, so I focus elsewhere (although I have been making a conscious effort to resolve that)

    Things the white haired girl does and says in the first three doors make a lot of sense when you realize she is part of Morgana. The white haired girl is pretty much looking for forgivable and 'what if' sides in her tormenters. The story with the tower she tells Mell seems to be like if she is asking him if he would save her. She finds out that Mell isn't really mean. But he is no hero, and no prince coming to save her. Her fully accepting Yukimasa despite him believing he is a beast is as if she tries to see if there is any kind of love and humanity in him. Turning a blind eye (pun intended) to his actions. Yukimasa does have a way of showing love and humanity. But not enough. He is still a beast. With Jacopo it is quite direct. She knows he is her captor, and her letters are a plea for him to come to his senses.
    Things would have been different if Mell was brave enough to stand up to the other two men. If Yukimasa was humane enough to see that it was wrong. And if Jacopo opened his eyes.

    Great video! It's uncanny how i find myself agreeing about the quality of chapters, with door one being boring at first becoming the greatest climax in the visual novel, the less than stellar second door, and specifically the tragic tale of morgana in door 6 being the ultimate favorite chapter. I can't wait for the requiem of innocence video!

    One of the best VNs i've read. I played this not expecting anything, because i'm not really a fan of romance stories, but i instantly fell inlove with the artstyle, the music, then grew to love the characters as the story unfolds. And just when i thought one story was tragic, then comes another which is more tragic than the last. I loved every bit of it, especially the plot twists. I'm really glad i gave this game a chance.

    The door 2 twist isn't good because the merchant turned out to be Bestia. That part was fairly obvious. What makes it incredible and what doesn't come across in this video is just how far apart the scene with the second Bestia is and the scene where Pauline goes to the house. You've almost forgotten at this point about that scene when Pauline arrives so when you realize what you were seeing on Pauline's end was slightly behind the mansion stuff and that Pauline was the second Bestia all along. Mind blown!

    • @Senumunu
      @Senumunu 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      i dont think it was conveyed clearly how the merchant can be Bestia but also its Bestia that kills the merchant who wanders into the house.
      (the fact that he is/was himself a merchant gets revealed way later)
      bcs of the visual obscuration Pauline recognizing him comes as quite a surprise.

    I found this video looking for a quick recap of the last few moments of this game so I could continue reading the next one, Requiem for Innocence where I left off. When I tell you I clicked and subbed so fast--- This is one of my all time favorite visual novels. ALL. TIME. Changed my life for the better by the time I was done and crying my eyes out. THANK YOU for giving this story a chance since I've seen people review this and say it was boring or too slow or uninteresting because of the first few doors. The slow burn is absolutely worth its weight in Gold. I'll even say it's more than worth it's weight. It's a story that will never leave my memory.
    You are also the first man that I've seen that has reviewed and read this through it's entirety. You're one of the great ones. Please also finish the other side stories/prequel/extras for Fata Morgana if you can. I'd love to hear your opinions on it!

    THANK YOU for making this video about this masterpiece. I started playing this at the end of 2021 and finished it earlier this year (having read the prequel and sequel as well), and did I take my sweet time with it because I don't think a piece of media has ever made me so psychologically tired and hurt as this one; and I don't mean this in a bad way at all. It's a testament to how powerful the writing is; the characters, the settings, the themes... everything about it is nothing short of a spectacular tale, one that should be read by all those who have the chance to do so. Door 2 was actually my favourite lmfao. Perhaps due to the tone shift? I thought I'd hate it; since the first door was so focused on psychological horror, seeing the second one take on such a gruesome and (what appeared to be at the time) cheap slash horror I felt so underwhelmed... to then proceed to cry my eyes out at the Pauline reveal and how tragic the whole thing was. I'll never forget the contrast between her just wanting to live a peaceful and meeting the end she does. Anyway! Beautiful, beautiful piece of media, I highly think it's one of the best ones ever written. I truly hope more people give this a try, as well as their next project which is currently underway, Project Code Name: M (or something along those lines, too early in the morning), which appears to be equally fascinating. 🤎

No scene was boring, it just all came together so perfectly and it just kept getting better. It's really interesting to see you make a video about Visual Novels and oh how great of a visual novel you come to read. I was a bit of a fool and started with Reuquiem for Innocence(DLC), and it was really interesting to see everything backwards. I spoiled myself a bit but it was a really really incredible experience, and i was truly a biased towards jacopo, same with morgana. Two really unfortunate characters.
    It's curious also that this series made me cry too, i don't know what it was but tragic romances like these hit you on a really deep level, and it makes one wonder how the author goes about making something this incredible and wonderfull. Also the OSTs complement the story really well too.
