Not really a recommendation, but Usogui's author Toshio Sako is probably one of my favorite authors in the world because he was going to boxing training while having to draw 3 ongoing mangas weekly 💀. He is the definition of built different. And just recently on his twitter, he just won a belt too being 50 years old, what an absolute chad. He also started doing capoeira because he was interested, leading to the creation of Batuque, his other work about capoeira.
@@Oldmeme592 it’s about a killer who kidnaps a stalker, yes they have sex and are in love with eachother and both guys, if you can’t handle that because you have the brain of a child that’s okay. But it’s really good fiction you’d be missing out on due to prejudice.
Usogui is one of, if not the most enjoyable manga for me, the characters are diverse and the gambling games throughout the manga is very well thought out. I've reread it 3 times and it never gets old. The art at the beginning might throw some people off but it gets better as you get to the end. The Protoporos and Air Poker arcs were one of my favourites. Thank you for covering Usogui !!

Man I went into Barnes and Noble the other day and Dick Fight Island was presented right there in the manga section for all to see. I'm so happy that true art is getting the attention it deserves.
Usogui is really one of the greatest manga for me no:1. I have never seen a manga this intellectual and this good in story writing . There was a never dull moment. I dont lie when I say this Usogui really dropped 2 greatest peak fiction arc in a row. In short just read the manga it will change your life for good.
I simply love Fujimoto's works, Goodbye Eri and Look Back were both awesome in their own ways. Recommending here also Shaman King, the manga that was running alongside the big three and lost popularity later on, even though I consider it to be the most unique because of the main character and the antagonist (unpopular opinion, Hao was probably inspiration for Madara and Aizen's ideology).
The ongoing story of "The summer Hikaru died" is also pretty good if you want a read that can unsettle you without actually jumpscaring you like an 80s horror movie or something like that, the plot goes like this: 2 best friends live in a small rural town when one of them (Hikaru) goes missing for a couple weeks in the woods yet somehow shows up without a single scratch. The mc (the 2nd best friend/yoshiki) is concerned but didnt look into it since hey! His friend was back and safe!... until he slowly realizes that somethings off... thats not his friend, its something else. He confronts Hikaru saying how he just isnt the same anymore, Hikaru starts to stare at him and in a horrific turn starts to melt into something not human. The thing disguising themselves as Hikaru starts begging and weeping to keep its true form a secret while also saying something sinister... "I don’t wanna kill you!" ... the mc is terrified but agrees, so he decides to play along while pretending nothings wrong... yet he knows it cant last forever... he knows he shouldn't just ignore it, he knows its wrong, but he doesnt want to let go... Strange horrific paranormal occurrences start to happen all over the town and he starts to get the feeling its connected to that... thing... Will he ever move on? Or will he just stay, trapped in his own delusions? Nothing makes sense anymore... Anyway I personally loved it so give it a chance!
I dropped Usogui 3 times, then I learned a friend of mine had read it, and he insisted on me reading it. I thank him for that. For the first 100-120 chapters, I could barely read it, in the last two arcs, I could barely stop reading it. The fight between Kyara and the god complex dude is one of my favs ever, and protoporos island as a whole is one of my fav arcs ever. Right now I'm reading Ad Astra - Scipio and Hannibal, I highly recommend it. Also I recommend the manga from my fav anime (even though I haven't read it myself yet), Mushishi
For context I read Usogui before the labyrinth arc finished and I dropped it, came back the updates took forever and dropped it again but it was around that time when I initially dropped it I thought "It's pretentious and it's mediocre at times however the art is so much better to what I remember and I really want to know where this goes" and ever since I stuck to it like glue trying to hit the end and I think to anyone who can stomach the first few arcs should stick around and finish it. Hell if you can try and re-read a lot of the arcs or even most of the series (when the story begins actually happening) and you also get some phenomenal foreshadowing at points.
I had similar experience. First 100ish ch are kinda just meh. Not much going on with its characters, story’s, themes r kinda surface level, art, ext. but there’s a certain flashback at about 300ch in which gives certain characters some real depth, which made me enjoy the series much more as a whole

Not sure if it's the kind of thing you'd be interested in since it's' not a manga, but Worm by Wildbow is my favorite thing I've ever read. It's hard to get into why it's so great without getting into spoilers but the basic premise is a bullied teenage girl with the power to control bugs wants to become a superhero but gets mistaken for a villain. The story rides the line between being a deconstruction and a reconstruction of the superhero genre (I've heard arguments for both).

You should read Nan Hao and Shan Feng. Its has like 10 panels chapters. It is pure comedy gold. I have never laughed harder in my life, prior to reading this. Just check out the first 10 chapters, it won't take you longer than 20 mins.
Like several others have said, I also dropped Usogui a couple times before marathoning it a month or so ago, and it's by far one of my favorite titles now. If anyone's looking for some different stuff to check out, I recommend Atsushi Kaneko, though a lot of people will probably be turned off by the art style, Soil and Wet Moon are great stories, and Deathco is just a wild ride from start to finish. Fujita Kazuhiro is another great author, with titles like Ushio and Tora, Karakuri Circus, and Souboutei Kowasubeshi. Again, the art might turn people off, but really love the guy's work.
Usogui is also my personal best manga of all time and I have read about 550+ fictional work. That final arc just hits different. You should check the authors other work called, Batuque. Which is more focused on fighting than anything else.
i only heard about usogui because i randomly happened to see the cover of batuque by the same author, and was blown away by the art in the first chapter. I read all of Batuque in a weekend and can't wait to start usogui next

@brotheranimations1848It's both actually, i read both when i was on "school break" for the year, and i also read really fast. I'm assuming you're american so your "break" from school is less than mine.
I've been enjoying wandance a lot the past few months. It's basically about this pretty big dude who has a hard time talking with his stutter and has reserved himself to a quiet but social life, letting his friends talk for him instead of trying to talk himself until he finds this new student, dancing outside of the school. He soin befriends her and joins the dance club in which he steadily learns how to dance which, and for someone who isn't interested in dance, really hooked me and intrigued me with the way the art portrays the rhythm and subtle methods of dance.
Recommended The Second Coming of Gluttony a while ago (the Light Novel, NOT the manhwa!) Patiently waiting for you to read that one 🤞🏻 It's completed and imo a minimum of 8/10
I recommend reading these other 3 manhwas; omniscient reader, Lookism, and The world after the fall. That last one was made by the same author and artist for Omniscient reader which honestly tells you how much I enjoy there work , so If you have the time you should check those out you won't regret it! ^_^
I dropped Usogui at chapter 1 'cause I didn't like the artstyle. After I finished it like 2 months ago it instantly became my favourite manga of all time. The progression the author went through was insane (in both drawing and writing). I love how the author took simple games and turned them into genius level, life threatening gambles Fun fact: Usogui was the 3rd series he ever wrote but was the first to be published (the 2 previous are not)
If you want recommendations i got some oldies 1. Lone wolf and cub: the best samurai manga I've ever read and yes it's in contention with vagabond 2. Tomorrow's joe: another boxing manga but it is on a similar level to me with holyland and ippo
Please give one more chance to Rosario+Vampire because IT IS NOT JUST A MONSTER GIRL HAREM. It only begins that way. Oh but the anime adaptation really is just a school monster girl harem.
Damn I gotta finish Usogui. I strongly recommend Chikan Otoko, or Molester Man if translated. It’s probably the greatest romance manga I’ve ever read and definitely one of the best pieces of romance fiction I’ve ever encountered. It’s short as hell, only like 21 chapters.
idk if you've read this yet but my favorite series of all time, Hardcore Leveling Warrior has AMAZING art, AMAZING character progression, and ALOT of hype moment with very interesting characters, and even though its technically an MMORPG manhwa it has real irl stakes which is why i love it so much, only downside is the enormous amount of fan-service has ~330 chapters at the end of season 2(which was technically the end) but it has a sequel(season 3?) which is just as good and just started with ~20 chapters
have you not read THE FABLE? Haven't really seen you talk about it except yout top 100 manga video, please read it and review it, it's quite underrated. Great video as always.
If you ever do this again, my recommendation is "Jagaaaaaaaan" (yes that's the title) it's a very weird series but i used to read a lot of it, but after a certain point stuff just went insane.

That last one was made by the same author and artist for Omniscient reader which honestly tells you how much I enjoy there work , so If you have the time you should check those out you won't regret it! ^_^
I love Lookism, I’m currently on episode 268 in the Hostel arc, it gets super long but I still find it enjoyable when the narrative starts to shift
I’ve been waiting for this video!
I really love your videos and if you want a recommendation I say "welcome to demon school iurma-kun" I love this!!!!
I dropped Usogui at chapter 1 'cause I didn't like the artstyle. After I finished it like 2 months ago it instantly became my favourite manga of all time. The progression the author went through was insane (in both drawing and writing). I love how the author took simple games and turned them into genius level, life threatening gambles
Fun fact: Usogui was the 3rd series he ever wrote but was the first to be published (the 2 previous are not)
I saw kill stalker and uncontrollably started having seizures and shat myself
I've read it three times, it is fresh on my mind. AND OH GOD, I AM HAVING WAR FLASHBACKS
Congrats on the whole fiancée thing :) Just found out here
If you want recommendations i got some oldies
1. Lone wolf and cub: the best samurai manga I've ever read and yes it's in contention with vagabond
2. Tomorrow's joe: another boxing manga but it is on a similar level to me with holyland and ippo
USOGUIIIIII
Please give one more chance to Rosario+Vampire because IT IS NOT JUST A MONSTER GIRL HAREM. It only begins that way.
Oh but the anime adaptation really is just a school monster girl harem.
Just chiming in to say after Mappa announced a movie for Chainsaw Man volumes 5 & 6, i’m starting to feel hopeful for a Goodbye Eri movie
Usogui is the best manga ever created.
Amen brother
Base Usogui referee >>> Guts
Not the best that has ever created but it's definitely underrated and deserved in the top 5, maybe even top 3
@@vil9000 which manga do you prefer?
@@_nenie Psychological mixed ith actions that has a good writing, usogui def fit the criteria
I pray to god in heaven you will make a video about usogui it's better (in my opinion) than berserk and Vagabond
Molester Man is goated
I'd like to recommend a really underground manga. It's really underrated genuinely one of the greatest reads ever. It's called Kagura Bacchi
You really gotta read no home sometime it’s really good :)
Usogui, absolute perfection
If I may, I would recommend the Kindergarten Wars manga. Great comedy and I love the art style.
My recommendation for you would be Ao Ashi (realistically grounded football manga) and Tomodachi Game (psychological high stakes game manga)
when I tell you the SHREIK I JUST SCHECKED when I saw killing stalking on the thumbnail...yea that, i have no words,
Usogui at 1 love to see it🙏
u need to make an entire vid on usogui
the author of AOT, Hajime Isayama, said bokutachi ga yarimashita is one of favorites. i’m pretty sure most people read it bc of that.
JAY X1 THE GOAT
YASSS DEDEDE DESTRUCTION DEMON 😍😍😍 ITS SO UNDERATTED, AMSOULUTELY BROKE ME
idk if you've read this yet but my favorite series of all time, Hardcore Leveling Warrior has AMAZING art, AMAZING character progression, and ALOT of hype moment with very interesting characters, and even though its technically an MMORPG manhwa it has real irl stakes which is why i love it so much, only downside is the enormous amount of fan-service
has ~330 chapters at the end of season 2(which was technically the end) but it has a sequel(season 3?) which is just as good and just started with ~20 chapters
OF COURSE SCAMBOLI RECOMMENDED HELLPER
On a serious note tho. Hellper is just so good.
I am actually glad I got not only manga recommendations, but also new youtube channels to explore
Wtf why did you suddenly become so much funnier in thsi video LMAO
have you not read THE FABLE? Haven't really seen you talk about it except yout top 100 manga video, please read it and review it, it's quite underrated.
Great video as always.
If you ever do this again, my recommendation is "Jagaaaaaaaan" (yes that's the title) it's a very weird series but i used to read a lot of it, but after a certain point stuff just went insane.
