Watched Subahibi's retrospective a few weeks ago and youtube recommended me this one. I read the comment section and ended up on your second channel. where you vented about someone else also making a video about Fatamoru. I've read a lot of VNs but this one is still very dear to me and one of the best experiences that I had and knowing Fatamoru fans I know they'll eat this up. I understand where your troubles came from but there will always be someone who can make better or worse content (I think you’re aware of that already, sorry w) than you and you gotta go with the flow. Your video is still very good and I hope you keep bringing us, your viewers, more content because we will enjoy it because *you* did it! (If it makes any sense, haha) I agree that maybe you should put more of your commentary, opinions, feelings, etc. towards the VN to make it more personal & make a unique experience for the viewer, like in Subahibi's. Either way, thank you for putting so much effort into this video! It was amazing to revisit this VN via a video retrospective, teared up remembering w. On a side note, I want to give my opinion about Michel’s “gender”. I think it’s important to point out that Michel’s one of the, almost non-existent, characters that are intersexual and well-portrayed, not as a comical or fetish character, but as a person with an actual issue there and how this type of problem could have been treated on medieval ages. Being transgender kinda applies here too because of the situation Michel was raised in though. Also, the language used in the BGM is Portuguese! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
i do get that viewers would watch a certain creator, not for their content, but because they're fans of the creator, i just didn't know i was on that level of connection with my viewers yet, so thanks. I did purposefully step away from being too personal for fatamoru since i didn't want to ruin a serious story with any quips or the sort. What an introduction to your channel. I had never heard of this VN before and I'm impressed, it's such a convoluted story and yet it works so well. Every character is beautifully written, and it's filled with relevant issues like you touched on in the last part. I loved the art so much, right up my alley. Anyway, as a transman myself, this game made me think about how people like me might have been treated during the middle ages and appreciate the time we live in.

I preferred OG fatamorgs variety and number of tragedies, but they handled Ceran beautifully. Never before have i experienced a character be so intrinsically "wrong" and messed up before. Jacopo's descent into madness as a lord was fun, and i genuinely didn't expect to be so emotionally torn about his mentor. It also fleshes out morgana and jacopo's relationship in a way so that it wouldn't feel wierd this grown man fell in love with a 12 yr old. It's a great addition to the OG story but imo not mandatory.

And if you feel that way about cerene then I think you'll love the way that Yukimasa is constructed in Seventh lair and Reincarnation, he's become one of my favorite side characters. And yes, Jacopo's descent and parallels with Barnier are executed beautifully when he becomes lord. It is so tragic that in trying to protect the town he has to slowly destroy all things that make him a person, starting with his friends and then his own sense of identity, and then finally the person he loves. I think Jacopo shows that Things like Utilitarianism are impractical and that w is because of love and morality. Also when you finish reqiuem don't forget to check our the side stories, fragments, revenant's dream and reincarnation. Although I heavily disagree, I feel that Requiem is necessary since is the orgin of morgana's curse and it shows the story of Jacopo, Yukimasa, and Mell. This is their original life, where their actions will impact their future lives ultimately culmiating into their doors 1-3 and the events later in the story. Fata's identity is depicted by the soul being the main identifier of self which is why there are so many christian themes. The soul holds memories deep within it, and for each character their souls originate in Requiem which is where they develop their personalities which we see resurface in doors 1-3 and reincarnation.
I was not interested in watching this video due to not knowing this VN and not liking the artwork but I'm so glad I stuck through. I love stories like these!
Do I have to play the prequels/sequels to watch this video? I just finished the main game and I wanna deep dive into some of the content but I don't want to spoil any of the other games for myself.
@@nafinapkin5439 Michel and Didier aren't twins (Didier is way older) and the scene with Jacopo and Morgana in the graveyard wasn't while they were both at the lord's manor (she was locked up in the dining hall the entire time). That scene came a few years after they both escaped together during the revolt.
The beginning is slow, but the ending makes it all worth it. It dives deeper into jacopo's rise as a lord and... descent into madness. Also keep an eye out for a girl named "Ceran", she cannot be trusted. Oh uh yeah, it's good. It's not mandatory or anything but a great addition.

I probably didn't go through any "real pain" but this is the arc that Morgana goes through. Because of Michel, she now knows the difficult situation of the men that tormented her which changed her mindset. Admittedly, Michel's optimism comes from his nature which couldn't really be taught. Main point is, just try to be a bit more rational and empathetic. Whatever hurts you, most definitely has some reason to exist.
Holding onto hatred never makes you better. Don't do it for them. Do it for yourself. For your own health and betterment. If you're purely driven by hatred for hatred sake, then they win, you've become essentially obsessed with them, and forfeited your own life.

I felt saying a phrase to refer to a character was repetitive and didn't flow well, like a name, which was why i gave her one. It did go against the creator's intentions so i am sorry if it bothered you.
Definitely the best visual novel I’ve ever read. Still haven’t gotten through the dlcs yet but the main story had me hooked. I don’t believe in the whole multiple genders thing and I don’t support the lgbt but I was amazed at the story. I only bought it because one article had it rated higher than ocarina of time for highest rated game of all time. Idk how true that is but I was happy to have read it n I’ll keep on through the dlc
