  • In today's video, join me as we take you through our incredible experience at EBC Brakes HQ, where we removed an older brake kit on my Focus ST and replaced it with a cutting-edge 4-pot Big Brake setup from EBC designed specifically for my car, all explaining why brakes are so important.
When it comes to chasing big power in your car, brakes are a vital upgrade that can't be overlooked but there are so many questions that the car community seems to have surrounding this, such as, why do brakes squeal so much, which pads do I need, which brakes are legal on the road and which aren't?
Witness the process of uninstalling the old brake kit converted from a BMW purchased on eBay and discover how the brand-new 4-pot Big Brake setup from EBC was tailored to match the specific demands of my high-powered Focus ST225 that " might " have a potential future in motorsport.
Whether you're into track racing or spirited driving on the streets, upgrading your brakes is essential to ensure the safety and performance of your vehicle, especially when pushing it to its limits.
Don't miss out on this exciting adventure at EBC Brakes HQ and witness the transformation of my car's braking system!

Great video enjoyed it from start to fishing but the use of copper grease is a massive no. Once it dries it aids corrosion with the copper contents. Has potential to interfere with abs systems etc. High temp brake grease is the way forward.

Dude they manufacture and design these brake systems from the groud up. The mechanic fitting them knows more than you

Bigger discs and calipers will not decrease stopping distance. The reason the new brakes feel better is most likely due new pads and freshly bled brake lines with new fluid. Unless you are expecting to run into brake fade from doing lots of heavy stops, bigger discs and calipers are not needed. The Yellow Stuff pads will be enough to elevate that issue anyway. Grippier tyres is what contributes most to better braking.

Agree totally but they look nice, been waiting on parts to arrive to put together my own brembo bb's with ebc disks and yellowstuff pads.
My MK3.5 ST Wagon while being able to stop doesn't feel confident with the stock disk (ebc disks) and caliper size

Volvo XC90 T8 and damn do I want a BBK to fill out those wheels & make that 2.3T machine stop when told to do so. Don't get me wrong, factory does stop but as a long time yellow stuff user a BBK would make a hell of a difference.

with the big brake kit do you need to change your allow wheels size to account for the calipers and the brake disc

Hi, it really depends on the vehicle, on some vehicles you will need to and on some you won't. We can always provide wheel clearance templates so you can be sure.

I can’t believe that a company like EBC has someone to fit your brakes and puts copper grease on the caliper slides a totally no no, it will congeal and go hard

Only on the threads of the cotter pin, will help when it comes to removal.

Hi, we agree that copper grease should not be used when installing the pads/slides, however its always worthwhile applying some to the retention bolt to stop potential seizing. Thank you.

If you’re doing big brake upgrade, why use .4 fluid, just go .5.1 racing fluid
