    I'm a happy two years owner of the device. Been playing handhelds since the first Game Boy and I think it's THE best handheld gaming platform ever. It gives such a freedom of choice no other handheld could ever dream of. From Fallout 1 era to Fallout 4 era, from Doom 1993 to Doom 2016, games from ancient titles to 2014 releases runs no problem and with the ability to manually tweak performance options and graphics config files it runs games better than its only competitor - Switch. Games from PS360 era runs so much better than on my PS3. Now I can play all great multiplatform games that I missed on PS3. Riddick, Rage, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Thief, Dishonored, Witcher 2, Alan Wake, Dead Space, Batman, Max Payne 3 and many more - all run like a dream.
    And also it's a fully fledged PC capable of editing complex Photoshop files with no hitch. It's a total excitement worth every penny and cent I've paid for it. Because you pay only once for the device and after that get the access to Stem/GoG/HB sales with tons and tons of great titles for a fracture of price handhelds could never compare. Not to mention that all your previously existing PC library is available for you for no extra price (and your console library via emulation).
    I love the consumer support GPD provides. Had some issues with my launch Win 2 and got them fixed for absolutely free! Since then had no problems because as far as I know GPD cooperates with better components providers.
    I just wish Intel lower the price for its m3 processor because for now the CPU is almost half the price of the device.

      When you say it runs well, you mean solid 60FPS once optimised ? I hate playing lower than that.

    • @Sly2Cooper
      @Sly2Cooper 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Thesavagesouls as a portable gamer I don't expect 60fps in rich 3d games, but from my experience all games from PS360 era run at 50+ fps on higher settings than my PS3 did. With GTA5 as the only exception I know. You can always tweak some heavy graphics (highest shadows, antialiasing or ambient occlusion) option to get a high framerate or increase the power of Win 2.

      @@Thesavagesouls he means no stuttering, technically that varies game to game, and nothing can beat. Dedicated gpu, but for its size it's kinda doesn't need to however I will say it is heavy, and the win max won't be pocket sized while being more powerful

    quick note. The thing about the win 2 everyone needs to understand it is a full gaming PC. Low spec? sure. However it is a full gaming laptop. Meaning you can connect it to an external display and use the usb A port for wireless mouse and keyboard combo. You can connect an actual xbox one controller if you like. Just like a normal laptop it can be used on a larger display and you can use a full sized keyboard and mouse to play games or do anything really. You can use an xbox one controller. Understand that the massive benefit is that it can also be played on the go with no external devices needed. But whenever you are at home you can use an external display and any input method you prefer that will work on a windows 10 PC or linux as well since the win 2 can run linux.

    Very good review! I notice allot of people mentioned the heat destribution on the Win 2 is really bad, and people even got third party heat sinks and 3d printed shells for it. That really put me off on getting a Win 2 as that just seems like allot of hassle and effort to get a product that shouldn't have these problems. I hope Win Max or Win 3 whenever that comes out don't have these issues, maybe I'll finally pull the trigger and get one. Also side note, what do you think of the Alienware UFO or Smach Z?

    • @hmr0
      @hmr0  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, never was fond of opening up devices. I do think Win 3 or Max will be better since GPD has released multiple devices in between 2 and Max and they all seemed higher in quality each time.
      And I think they the Alienware UFO looks too good to be sold at a reasonable price if it really is coming out. Looking at the specs wise I think a Win Max would already be sufficient to me. Neat design, but that shell look like it'd get seriously hot if not done correctly. I'd still like to see it come out though, the switch and gpd win do need some more healthy competition.
      And Smach Z, let's just say that was an attempt lol. There are just so many things wrong with it.

      You can adjust the thing keeping the screen stable. It's under the cap of the screen. But tight screen handle can result in crack in the case. It's a problem with the case design.
