So... the horse they gave him was a direct descendant of "the father of all horses". That's not really very impressive. Because by definition, all horses meet the criteria of being descend from the thing which all horses descends from.

Teclis is much more palatable when you imagine him as having coped with his health trouble by developing a massive sarcastic streak and making snide remarks about his oh-so-perfect brother at every opportunity.

For a band of outcasts who live in a desolate wasteland and are just as fond of killing each other as they are their shiny kin, those dark elves do seem to breed at a rapid pace.
I always thought it was more a case that the High Elves breed *especially* slowly. Something about Ulthuan 'slowing down' somehow and making everyone who lives there less virile.
Probably has to do with their weird magical vortex business.
The High Elves are basically extremely depressed and unmotivated. They simply try to "exist" rather than "live". Their dark cousins are much more motivated and invigorated. They have lots of ambitions and desires. So even if their upbringing and environment is harsher, they seem to thrive.
Basically, translated to human standards, the DE starts reproducing in their late teens(due to their reckless nature), while most HE are 30+ year old virgins(Exaggerated ofc).
That, and the High Elves does tend to get into several "almost cataclysmic" events on a regular basis. Either from their cousins, greenskins or the forces of Chaos.
They also, from time to time, send out fairly big expeditions to far away places, to turn the tide of a great war or to save the world from destruction. And those expeditions usually have a high body count as well.
Finally, Elves mature slowly on top of all that, which compound all the other effects.
Kinda hard to not breed when you're constantly engaging in bloody murder-orgies...
Not to mension the many many fuck cults the dark elves have. Being as soon as possible you are taught to fuck every single person you see. The Asur god of rape, and Asur Pleasure god have a very high influence upon dark elven society's. They literally divote most of their women to fuck sessions then send them of to war. If they live the child is born.

Ehhh, I wouldn't say unmotivated. Their current situation is just difficult. Beset by DE invasions, and then Chaos starts getting involved...but they pull through in the end. In actual canon (not the ET garbage timeline)

What I was most bewildered about was thr fact that in the first comment, it says that Tyrion has *1+* Ward Save.
1+ Ward Save!!!!
That means that 5 times out of 6, he ALWAYS repell any enemy damage. A Nat 1 being always a failure of course.
This makes him even more stronger than Archaon in terms of Armour.

Eh, at this point you can't really blame the High Elves for being overpowered. I mean, it's their thing... it's like blaming the orks for being green. Roses are red, violets are blue... I'm a High Elf... that means I'm better than you.
If they were not overpowered, they would have lasted long enough to create the Vortex
Ironically, the Empire Humans share some of the same flaws as the High Elves and the Dwarves (And also the same strengths)

I played High Elves in tabletop before Age of Sigmarines, and I can see exactly why you would despise Tyrion and Teclis as characters. They're quite one-dimensional, and there is so much plot armour in addition to some way too obvious deus ex machinas.

At least the game kept with the lore. I just sent a lvl 32 Tyrion, maxed out in all battle skills, at a 700 rat strong army of skaven and he routed them all and killed 250 of the vermin all on his own. He never dropped below half health. Good job CA you hit the nail on the head with that one

This has been one of the most hilarious videos of you I've seen so far, and one I totally agree with, esp since the lore contained within is correct.
Tyrion and Teclis remind me of The Brothers Majere from the Dragonlance D&D Campaign Setting, although with those two the warrior brother is not so absurdly OP and is actually an interesting character.

Some people hate overly perfect characters, or overly arrogant characters, specially if that arrogance is justified. Personally I like arrogant characters, and hate exaggeratedly manly characters, like dwarves, or orcs (To be fair, I wouldn't throw the Warhammer orcs in that basket. They're special, they're more of a force of nature than a bunch of sweaty, hairy, aggressive muscle dudes obsessed with beer. I was mostly referring to the Warcraft orcs.)
I agree, in a way Its a different kind of "fantasy exaggeration" along with the heavily muscled manly men and perfect hourglass figure busty ladies, etc. (not that I don't also enjoy those exaggerations)
As for Orcs, yeah I prefer Warhammer orcs, their 40k equivalent and Tolkein's orcs to the more "humanized" orcs of Warcraft and the Elder scrolls universes (I know, Orsimer are technically elves, but still). Warhammer Orcs seem to add that little bit of comedy without detracting too much from the overall feel.
Main High Elf player here, and no one can destroy my like for them... but I'll still never field Tyrion or Teclis. Malekith or Caledor sure, but the those two, meh.

Personally I think that dwarves (or dwarfs, whatever) as a whole are, in a way, destined to be rather hillarious: Come on, they are a race of short, aggresive viking cosplayers with metal fetish (Warhammer overkill doesn't do much to prevent it). And that's(among other things) why I like them - they are pretty much parody of themselves

I quite enjoy Tyrion and Teclis personally, but I understand why some people don't. But complaining about Tyrion hacking through Dark Elves really threw me off while listening to this, it's fucking warhammer of course there will be characters that can cut down armies. and honestly Tyrion has a legitimate reason for his powers, he's the Demigod Aenarion reborn using the greatest armor ever forged and and immensely powerful sword that if I recall correctly was crafted by Caledor Dragontamer himself. As for Teclis, he was given the artefacts because of his lineage and I imagine because the elves had scried his future and forseen a great destiny for him. most of the complaints in this video seem ill informed or just spiteful for the sake of being spiteful.

Because there is no character depth in that. They are the classical white knight and white mage respectivly. Beeing "badass" is not a defining character trait in and off itself, it only makes for a badass character, if there is profound reasoning, backstory and so on and so forth. And the classical hero tale is just boring. Even the modern founder of fantasy, Tolkien himself, had broken with that clischee, by first making the small hobbits the ones that define the outcome (instead of Gandalf or Aragorn) and than have Sam, instead of the "chosen one" Frodo, be the hero of the day.
Grimgor was essentially a parody, as its the norm with orks. He literally punched out the antichrist, because funny. However, with the elves we have two characters, that are definitly meant to be serious. And still it boils down to: Beat incredible odds, best incredible foes and take on incredible challenges, because heroes.
No real weaknesses (yay, "really frail" and "cant do stealth", what original weaknesses for the bookworm and the hero respectivly), no negative traits, everyone loves them and those that dont are instantly brandished as assholes.
And thats the difference between real life and fantasy for you: A real soldier that would have, say, destroy an entire nazi-tank-batallion by himself would be a hero and certainly a badass, since thats hard. But writing a character that does this is easy. The question is: Why? How could he? What depth does he possess? In general, a character that only is "badass" and "heroic" should easier be in the background or played for fun.
1:08- Well, Tyrion did go nuts after seeing his daughter sacrificed and turn himself into Avatar of Khaine.
Unlike 40k, Khaine is the Evil god in that universe. Plus somehow Malekith is somehow rightful king, ignoring how much he try to pillage Ulthuan and what he almost did to Alarielle.

-Part of the Bretonnian Nobility joins Chaos when they learn that they were puppets of the Wood Elves
-Archaon chokes Grimgor to death (The Everchosen strangle a Bloodthrister before he had all of his power)
-Vardek Crom and Valten kill each other (Crom is equal in power to Grimgor)
-Skaven and Chaos Dwarves launch Nukes at Lustria and the Southlands
-Skaven and Beastmen create Earthquakes, destroying Nuln and Altdorf
-Due to the Chaos Dwarfs Factories, Chaos has more Artillery than any other faction (Normal Dwarves still build everything by hand)
-Karanok the Black awakens and kills all the Ogres that don't submit to Chaos
Khaine in fantasy is more like Malal than the Khaine from 40k. Wielding his sword allowed Aenerion to kill every greater daemon of each Chaos God and gave him a desire to kill the entire world.

That monologue from 3:00 onwards is one of the funniest descriptions I have heard in my life.
While I still prefer 40k, it's refreshing to see how much more cohesive Warhammer Fantasy's world is. It's brutal and dark, but by and large as long as you're not a skaven or orc it isn't constant madness either.
Neither is 40K. The lore focuses almost entirely on war and space marines and demons but for most people it'd be a pretty dull yet peaceful life.
@@lokenontherange Eh, I don't really buy that as an excuse. A galactic scale empire is too huge for the average populace to be factored in anymore. When you start reaching into the trillions, spread them out across interstellar distances and give them unreliable forms of transportation and communication, it would take something truly apocalyptic in scale to noticeably affect the lives of more than half of them. And given the events of M41 999, I think that may just happen.

Many people think we get Morathi as a 2nd Starting Lord for Sado Masso Elves but I hope CA holds themselves and makes out of her a standoff DLC: Morathi vs Alarielle. Many suggest it'll end up beeing Alarielle vs Hellebron but I think the old crone should be more welcome in a standoff DLC against the Skaven; she's a vermin too, after all...
The ONLY “quirk” I could find of these two is that Tyrion snores and is a lightweight once the sun goes down. And Teclis is a night owl.

It's fitting your symbol is the crest of House Greyjoy. I feel the men of the iron isles and the dark elves would feel some kinship. Before they proceed to go to war with one another of course.
Which is why the dark elves have always attempted to stop the Empire and the High Elves going to war against the Dark elves,with the empire providing the manpower than the High Elves lack,while they could quite literally bring the firepower to back the Empire up. I doubt the Dark elves would fair well in such a war.
So Twarhammer 2 is going to have 3 of the most OP magic users in the entire world, and two ridiculously powerful melee specialists. This should be interesting.

Not that it's that important, but they are both confirmed. Teclis confirmed in the cinematic and a video released by CA. Tyrion confirmed on the Steam Store page with this line "Prince Tyrion, Defender of Ulthuan, guides the High Elves in their desperate efforts to stabilize the vortex as it roils above their home continent."

I find it wierd that you dislike these guys, but like the primarchs so much... It's just hypocritical in all honesty.
Tyrion and Teclis easily do things primarchs, Aenarion, and Sigmar would all struggle or be unable to do. They are absolutely broken characters with such unbelievably thick plot armour that it's frustrating to read their stories when other characters in Warhammer are so well written and make so much more sense in comparison. The only person in Warhammer who compares to Tyrion in melee is Gotrek and Gotrek has the excuse of being possessed by a dwarven god where Tyrion is just a normal elf.
