Man this brings back memories. I used to LOVE to listen to Reagan's Saturday radio addresses when I was in high school. I can't believe its been 40 years already!
The President usually arrived on Friday afternoon...here he arrived on Saturday. His radio address was always at noon on Saturday. On this weekend, the President was pre-occupied with Al Haig's mission to Argentina, in an attempt to negotiate a peaceful conclusion to the Falklands crisis.
WOW, for those who have been stationed at "Camp #3" as a Marine sentry, not much has changed as for the landing ops from 1982 to 1993,lol. I love this, very nostalgic.
He wore them often when being filmed or photographed. Reagan was severely nearsighted and wore glasses. But while president, as well as in his movies, he wore contact lenses. When he was working daily away from the cameras he wore his glasses (with bifocals most likely) as a general rule. But for photo ops, going into crowds, etc. he wore his contacts and when he had to read would wear reading glasses in addition to the contacts. I do the same thing at times. What is even more interesting is when Reagan gave a big speech in public, he used to take out one contact lens so he could see the crowd with one eye and read the speech with the other.
@@semiramisbonaparte1627 Settle down there, Sparky. Looks like someone needs to teach you some manners. I'm sure President Reagan would agree because he was a true gentleman. Perhaps you could learn something from his example.
@@exiledwest8114 Yeah once and apparently he hated it. Trump ain't no cowboy and he just doesn't do "country". Something I find highly suspect about the man.

Man, if I were President I think I would stay at Camp David and only head to Pennsylvania Ave when absolutely necessary!
