the first stand needs to be turned 90 degrees into same position as second stand so that the stand's teeth line up with the indent on the subframe IMO. By doing so will make it more difficult for the subframe to slide off jack stand.
You cannot drop a jack stand by bumping it. The rest of this video was great. There is literally a guy who tested to see if it was possible and you would have to essentially needed to hit it with a sledgehammer to apply enough torque to disengage the lock.
Will this work on my 2008 lincoln mkx as well? I just bought it and need to do front wheel bearings. The previous owner demolished the pinch weld on the drivers side front. Is it still okay to jack there and put my jack stands under the sub frame near the lower control arms?
is it safe to use the steel part that's right behind the front bumper? it runs across the front end; it looks like it can hold the weight of the edge. I've used that before to jack up the whole front side, a couple times.
Lemme i will tell u where I jack all my automobiles 🚘 1 under the front you will see a wide metal that goes all the way across like from tire to tire its the cross over. 2 I jack rate next to the tire that's a big metal i jack next to the tire in the back as well if its a older and it's rear wheel drive I put it under the center of the axel I don't jack up on the pinch welds they rust and git weak and if you can afford to buy the jack stands mack T has the Aluminum that has a pin that goes all the way through they do make steel to like that. Just don't buy the ones that have the arm to raise the stand. You want to buy the One's that you put a pin through they are safe. I know not all have cement to work on so like me on aluminum stands 1/4" to 3/8" thick 16" x 16" square welded to the bottom of the stand same for the steel. Just make sure that the ground is level and dry No mud or soft .so what ever you do just be careful and safe doing jacking up .
Nope lol. And the creaking plastic sound as it compressed was unsettling. No way that’s correct. I think the arrow is pointing at a metal part further in.
i noticed you are not using the original jack. the original jack is a joke, there's no crank handle for it. searching for solution to the real ford edge jack used in a real roadside situation.
Finally got a straight answer! Thank you so much!!
