My attempt at cobbling together some footage showing Elektro the robot from a couple of sources
Huntley film: • Video - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
my grandpa saw Elektro at the 1939 World's fair. hell, he was one of Elektro's operators!
Cool! Is he still around?
@@jackchen7003 no, he passed away a few years back.
Tell us more about how he become the elektro operator
@@felipevasquez4349 I don't really know anything other than that he was Elektro's operator for a few months in 1941.
@@Dez_The_Fox just's that? He never tell you in a more specific way how was operate elektro, how used to work his system, how was the reaction of the public when trey seen elektro, how was his old work partners or something similar?
This is actually freaking terrifying
im thinking the same
@Renato Pivaral no
Yes it is.
But it is cool too
Say that to westinghouses’ face.
@@V.G.F. they’ll probably say the same thing
Anyone realize how he was programmed to speak and move at the same time, yet a computer hasn't been made until 1946 and this robot was made in 1936
I believe there was a 78 record player under the stage
Old Films and Stuff I think the record player is built into him.
It's basically an electrical marionette.
@@oldfilmsandstuff4679 yepp it has a 700-word vocabulary (prerecorded on vinyl records)
1945* read wikipedia. The first programmed machine was in the 1920's. The analytic machine was the first. Then came the Z1 wich was just a Turing machine, but lesser, and then ENIAC. But turns out You don't need a computer to programate! My god people are dumb
there is something so cool yet so unnerving about this video, it feels like one of those ARGs that turn 1940s footage into genuinely terrifying stories
I met Elektro in Mansfield, Ohio about 15 years ago. He was awesome! I told my daughter, you are looking at history here. He was shown in arguably the greatest world's fair of all time 1939. I knew of him from a book I have had since the 1970s.
It would've been Amazing to see these two in a museum today.
What a shame they were lost and damaged beyond repair, such an incredible and ingenious achievement for it's time.
I'm sure Elektro could be restored to working order, although it would be a lot of work.
Elektro's at the Mansfield Museum in Ohio; he's not functional, but you could still see him at a museum at least
Electro visited me in a dream once, he gave me a cigarette which he lit using the zippo lighter hidden in the tip of his mechanical finger.
The plain house setting and low lights make this terrifying.
That dog is so cute in a strange way
1939 robots are way cooler than modern droids, here's proof.
Yeah, the 1930's robots all smoked cigarettes thus making them cool. Never saw Boston Dynamics robots smoking, because they're squares.
He's design and voice are impressing and terryfing af.
Thank goodness Electro was on our side during WWII, there's no telling what evil deeds the Germans would have programmed him to do.
They both had such tragic ends.
this is so insanely spooky for some reason i just cant set my mind on it
I think it’s because it’s a real video recording capturing something very artificial and ahead of its time. They’re basically talking props, which would be a little bit unsettling regardless of the era. It also implys a lot of evidence of human effort but no visual proof of humans actually being there. The fact that their dialogue and actions are extremely mundane makes it a little off putting also….this short video made me think a lot about evolution and fear and humanity, very cool
@@realonereal1 also that thing was 120kg and 2meters xd pretty scary
I like to think that people from a long time ago did as much as they could with intelligence as possible so we know and learn from what they have us it makes me feel warm inside
He should have had a huge career, HUGE!!
His circuts were destroyed through years of cigarette smoke so his career was short lived.
He had a role in an adult movie
Sparks want the bong
Loved it when I saw his cameo in Mr Robot
Them: fnaf
Me, an intellectual:
jajaja syes
Amazing. Love to have a houseful of these life-size robotic figures. Really cool. Slowly getting more old similar type models myself as a collection in my home. Love these. 💙
Replace the watermark with the Adult Swim logo and it would actually fit even better than it already does.
I feel like I can get jumpscared in any milisecond💀
1...2...3...4...5... Let Me count that agin. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... *muffled mumbling * I have a ciggarette. * Dog barking* * static *Good morning. *Muffled static along with unhearable mumbling *
Now this is true innovation
this is both uncanny as it is inspiring. beautiful
I'd rather have a cigarrete
This is some twilight zone type stuff
the tecnólogy IS amazing
i wish i knew what kinda moters that thing used they sound super cool and like electricity hogs
They used recorded words.
the motors were custom made by J.M. Barnett (or as he is referred to in this film, Barney)
I love how he sounds like a microwave when walking lol
Istg imagine hearing that at 3:00am
💀🤚
Soul may have escaped into this FNaF
This was the first animatronic.
That is in a museum about a mile from me.
Blow it up , it's rusted now
@@Dez_The_Fox There isn't much left of Mansfield these days. The thing about Elektro that always strikes me as odd is that it smoked cigarettes. I wonder how much time was spent on getting that to work? Too bad Sparky is lost. I can't believe someone would get rid of that. Then again look at Park Avenue. Beautiful old homes replaced by dollar tree stores.
Sounds like bobs burgers
to me it sounds like someone who has been smoking years
@@alphayun7401 He smoked for only one year, a few times.
The fact that they just said "Nah, we are going to destroy this robot that could help in the future and sell it as scrap, yeah"
Thank you TH-cam! For showing this now after I made the damn presentation about robots and robotics yesterday :)
No entiendo los que dicen que les da miedo, a mi hasta me causa gracia por sus movimientos toscos ademas tiene un perrito
Si, hasta me hubiera gustado verlos en un museo hoy en día. Una pena que hayan sido perdidos y desmantelados
That's good Barney. Stop the walking.
"That's good Barney. Stop the walking," A voice commands off stage. "I said stop the walking!" He continues as the primitive electric hum of Elekro's motor continues to sound across the room. Sounds of a panicked stuggle ensue in the background as the robot passes the dog and continues to walk forward in a mindless manner, and then run, its lip quivering as if trying to speak.
Im scared man how he looks why is it so scary man
[as]
Pero es increíble 😃
Elektro says 12345 full footage
0:00 Bro sounds like he smokes 12 packs a day 💀
Oh man, if I were able to time travel I'd sneak back to the 1939 World's Fair with a Boston Dynamics robot and show them what a real robot can do.
Of course if I really wanted to shock them I'd go back with some of those Japanese fembots.
The most Doom/Stoner stuff i've ever seen.
First, we hear the voice of Rocky Balboa
I thought he would have a normal voice. How disturbing
this real bro
Looks like electro smoked to much.
Su voz es rara
Sparko the robot dog is the 1st animatronic i think
No
Robot and animatronic are basically the same thing, except one is an automata and one is made to do something.
@@mr.mirage3986 actually you are wrong, apparently sparko IS the first animatronic as it was intended to resemble an actual animal unlike other robots intended to be well robots
@@matveyxivan7159 correct, or at least that is the first animatronic that the public saw, but we'll never know if there was one before that
Da miedo 😨
No way WX-78 irl
Mommyyyyy i got on the Darkweb
Jesus fucking hell I get it was the 1950’s but THE NOISE WHEN HE MOVES EUGH
i find it satisfying
Eletro was built in the 1930s
I don't find him scary at all he is just amazing
Is this a Kraftwerk song?
I NEED context this was horrifying
Sorry for late response.
If you are still wondering, this is the first humanoid robot (Android) ever built. He had a lot of functions, he could walk, talk, sing songs, smoke cigarettes, inflate balloons and so on. These are probably one of rare recordings of him which is a shame. But, he had a lot of photos taken and got reconstructed along with his robotic dog.
did he swallow a frog?
Nah he sounds like the grudge trying to speak English 💀
Can robots get cancer ?
Of course. Robots can get anything for you.
Lol
no, but they can get ruined from nicotine build up
They rust their lungs.
Why was he smoking i could see smoke coming out of his mouth
This is do creepy
my nightmares
HI MARY 😘
😆😆😆😆
my life in a nutshell
this is lynchian
Que tristeza que se convirtió en chatarra
Lo restauraron y esta en un museo
@@felix4015 fuente?
Parece fnaf vsh
Страшный 😅
Thank God it's corroded on the inside and doesn't function anymore, this shit is fucking terrifying
no offense but that's a very ignorant comment, if it was still functional it would be a treasure for humanity
No... I agree it's a good thing it no longer works, this machine was built to kill people by promoting smoking. So glad our modern robots like Boston Dynamics Spot don't smoke cigarettes.
Robots en los 40's? The Return To Freddy's es real xD
yes
xd
He's from 1939.
Noo re cursed esto como mierda llegue jajajajajaj
