I think everyone is missing the point. It really isn’t creepy. Granted, the times of yesteryears with the ridicule of the black people and the Machismo nature are apparent and wrong, but let’s think about the message. The girl didn’t pay much attention to the men. She was just in her room. When she saw the men, they wanted to take her out. This was her only opportunity to escape her strict household, which she could never leave. It may have looked as if she was simply a gold digger, but really she was trying to see who had the faster car to get her out of there. The first guy was affluent, given his clothings. He was the one with the better car. After it fell in the lake, the other man trying to impress her takes her in his car to go on a date. After she thinks she’s gone far enough and tries to go to the moon, representing freedom. Her father shoots her balloon down and shoots the moon, indicating that she will never have freedom again.

@@candioree8456 Literally the whole thing’s sad(I’m pretty sure this was around the Great Depression.) The was so many things odd/creepy/terrible in this short film. 1. The disturbing stop motion/animation . I think the stop motion is amazing and unique but there’s no doubt it’s creepy in my eyes. 2. The music…(I’m not sure if the person edited it or not) but the creepy depressing music definitely makes it even creepier. 3. The teens knocked out the mom or killed her. 4. A black person got ran over TWICE AND DIED. 5. I’m pretty sure the girl lives in a strict or abusive household that’s why she was trying to leave. 6. I also think her father won’t let her have freedom because she had a balloon or something and tried to get away he shot the balloon and made her come back. After all most of this is my interpretation but I still think this film has a dark message.
Why is everything from these time periods so sad dark and depressing? It’s like everything from this era is haunted and evil. It’s fucking mesmerizing.
People behaved more like adults then, but you see that behavior as "sad and dark" because you're accustomed to people in their 60's now acting like they are still teenagers. It was a different time, being more "grounded" or "somber" was expected with age.
I believe is the modern generation that are too sensible. I see kids nowadays watching these family friendly cartoons, movies. This is horrendous. I was lucky that even born in the 90s my parents always made me watch old stuffs too.
2 puppets were fatally harmed during the making of this film and the earth was thrown off its access when they shot the moon. Good times, the 30s. I love the added soundtrack!
I feel like this isn't good even for the 30s...Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs came out in the 30s. So did movies like Gone With the Wind and All Quiet on the Western Front.
This just proves that inspiration combined with brilliance, hard work and determination you can create something without glorified high tech. Low tech has charm and has it's own style. High tech, people get lazy and their work looks like everyone else's work. No personality at all.

@@lauriekane4686 I think it's a charicature of a Chinese man coming up from the other side of the earth.
@@RnRnR oh, good grief, it is, isn't it? I couldn't work out what it was.
@@gilgameshofuruk4060 Yes I think so, his shirt looks Chinese/Manchurian
2:03 wtf is that 😂
A gopher? Except it looked human. Creepy
Your mom -_-
atleast i have a mom
@@yeethetree1233 yeah same
The posthole was so deep a Chinese person popped out.
Just imagine how much time was put into this clip. Literally frame by frame!
I loved this!! So much hard work went into this type of film.
the scariest part of this was the racist caricature 😭
Yeah like the black person got ran over twice even though he was trying to warn them. That’s symbolism to what still happens today.
Yeah thats horrible
the face wasn't exaggerated to me, same lips as the sailor dude. But the fact that he got ran over as a joe is just gross
Ikr
This entire film is racist against humanity.
why does he just backflip out of the car lmao
That shit was funny af😂😂😂😂
It was so unexpected it almost made me choke on my cereal lol
1930's kids : "it's fun. I'm very entertained"
Now's kids (including my little brother) : "holy sh*t what is this? I don't want watch video from the deep web"
This isn't for kids. Kids shows only began to get popular in 1950's.
AT 1:54, i don't know how he got the strength to pull out that 10 foot post in the ground, even more creepy is that humanoid THING coming out of that hole? What is that?
I think it's meant to be a Chinese person, i.e. the fence post went so deep that someone from China could climb out of the hole. Nice gag, eh?
The post went all the way to an interment camp.
it’s creepy at first, but the longer it plays the more you appreciate the art. i can sort of see where the “cuteness” comes from 😂
NO
They literally ran over twice and murder a black man who tries to warn them of impending doom. It's creepy through and through.
@@kadenpile-riley2170 same.
@@candioree8456 LOL who cares.
Me: "nope thanks, I'm not gonna watch it"
My brain: "you think you decide?"
💀
Why is everything from these time periods so sad dark and depressing? It’s like everything from this era is haunted and evil. It’s fucking mesmerizing.
People behaved more like adults then, but you see that behavior as "sad and dark" because you're accustomed to people in their 60's now acting like they are still teenagers. It was a different time, being more "grounded" or "somber" was expected with age.

I believe is the modern generation that are too sensible. I see kids nowadays watching these family friendly cartoons, movies. This is horrendous. I was lucky that even born in the 90s my parents always made me watch old stuffs too.

well the great depression started in 1929 sooooo
I remember coming home from school one Friday afternoon and watching this on the tele. I did not sleep the entire weekend.
2 puppets were fatally harmed during the making of this film and the earth was thrown off its access when they shot the moon. Good times, the 30s. I love the added soundtrack!
The moon was apparently a groper in the skies above toon London.
Me: this is hella scarier than i thought it would be
My old dead relative's ghost: I'll sue u
I don't know but these type of movies' art launches a strange feeling in my mind that I can't explain
What did I just watched! Creepiest snd the most amazing stop motion I've seen.
Remember, this was in the 30s its not like they had the best materials and technology, i see this as a big win for 1930
I feel like this isn't good even for the 30s...Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs came out in the 30s. So did movies like Gone With the Wind and All Quiet on the Western Front.
@@Luca-bv5ic this wasnt disney if i remember from 3 months ago and well look at godzilla classic
@@ahkar0109 Godzilla was 1954.

why does this little girl have so many admirers at that age?
why did they just kill her mom?
so many questions and so few answers.😪
Her "Milk Shake" brought all the boys to the yard?????

This just proves that inspiration combined with brilliance, hard work and determination you can create something without glorified high tech.
Low tech has charm and has it's own style. High tech, people get lazy and their work looks like everyone else's work. No personality at all.
This is not creepy it’s an interesting and entertaining part of cinematic history
Whatever you need to tell yourself to sleep at night
It can be both.
