UPDATE on AUDIO TEST COMPARISON - th-cam.com/video/4q1hKwWAjKY/w-d-xo.html
*The Sony ZV-1 Mark II accidentally had wind reduction on, and that affected the sound.
Wind reduction removes all low end. With the winscreen, the wind reduction should be turned off. The ZV-A1 MII is one of the best embedded audio devices out there otherwise :)
Perhaps something for a newcomer to vlogging to consider is that the form factor of these four cameras is DRAMATICALLY different. For me, considerations of the physical form factor and handling of the camera in real-world settings trump anything to do with video quality, audio quality, or stabilization.
It might be interesting to make an in-depth video about that, demonstrating the various advantages/disadvantages of just the physical handling and form factor of each. For me, that's a very important comparison point.
In my case, for example, I've tried to shoot video with a smartphone, but I simply can't stand how awkward it is to hold a phone or mount it and shoot video and adjust settings. Everything about it is awkward. And there is no removable battery, so it always runs out of power. Throughout the day, you always need to use your phone AS a phone, which means you can't shoot video at those times. To fix that problem, you end up carrying around two phones: one for shooting video and a second one to actually access the Internet and access Google Maps, etc. Attaching an external microphone is equally awkward and unreliable. You can never quite tell if the phone registered the microphone or not. It's also difficult to turn the phone around to film yourself and then ahead of you as you walk. Sometimes the LCD screen of the phone is facing you and sometimes it is facing forward and you can't see it. But people walking toward you have a full view of the large screen of your phone and everything it shows. To fix that problem, you have to constantly switch from the selfie camera lens to the forward-facing camera lens. And that usually involves a dramatic drop in video quality. There are no tally lights to tell you whether it's recording video or not. There were also security concerns when using a smartphone. If someone snatched my GoPro and ran away with it, I've lost just a camera. But I was always worried that someone would snatch my phone while I was holding it at arm's length, and then they would likely have access to a lot more of my personal online accounts since the phone would be unlocked at that time while it was filming. I could go on and on about all the problems I encountered when trying to use a smartphone for shooting a vlog. And those problems had nothing to do with the video quality or the stabilization or audio. All of that was perfectly fine. It was just the physical form of the phone that I disliked and how awkward it was to handle.
I had the same experience with the DJI Pocket 2. There are many good things about it, but I ultimately found it very difficult to use in typical walk-and-talk vlogging situations. It was fiddly and complicated to use the various gimbal modes, and I never knew where the camera lens was pointing. I couldn't see anything on the tiny and dim screen to confirm what the camera was pointing at and recording. And the gimbal itself is delicate. Once you are holding the camera in your hands, you can never put it down because it would damage the gimbal. You constantly have to power the camera down and put it back in its case just so you can have your hands temporarily free to get out your wallet or get a coffee or do anything. Then you have to take it out and power it back up again. I ended up having to do that dozens of times in a typical day. The battery is also not interchangeable. And to get a wide enough field of view, you have to use the wide angle lens adapter, and it falls off so easily. Just the slightest nudge causes it to fall off. It's almost guaranteed that you're going to lose it. For those reasons and many more, my DJI Pocket 2 ended up just gathering dust in a storage bag. It was just too much of a hassle to use because of the form factor.
Anyway, I was just thinking that a video focusing on these physical handling and form factor issues might be interesting for your channel and your viewers. I know that I would have a lot to say on the topic. 😀
I mention usability in the last part of the video. Could definitely go more in-depth about ergonomics, but didn’t want to make this video too long.
We have the same concern about the iPhone being too awkward and risky to hold outstretch, so I bought the DJI pocket 2 for my vacation I thought it would be easy for me to vlog since it was small, but the gimbal itself is so dramatic and be careful every time.
I agree! I’m limited in both my hands & the amount I can physically use them a day due to a disability injury later in life. These would be hugely beneficial for me. Thanks so much for making this comment and reminding me to do the same on other product review videos I like 🙏
You perfectly addressed every single concern that I have with vlogging on a smartphone. The quality is amazing but it’s extremely inconvenient so I haven’t been able to bring myself to vlog consistently until I find a suitable camera that is easy to carry around and isn’t that intrusive when filming in public.
I have exactly the same issues with the iPhone and osmo pocket for vlogging… I would add on your list the go pro issues: first it overheat very easy, and u always have to change batteries during the day cuz it finish very fast. Also , as long as you have a really wide angle, there’s no bokeh effect, and so when you want to show products or food, everything gets little bit distorted, the image quality also give issues when uploading for TH-cam, some shoots just get blurred or pixelated for no reason, the low light even in indoor places during the day it’s horrible. I also do have a canon g7x mark I and I’m just crazy to upgrade it because it doesn’t have microphone input and the image it’s cropped too much, I basically show my face too close to the screen on every video cuz of that. The biggest issue for me it’s because I live in a country where is hard to make videos anywhere and use huge equipment because it’s basically forbidden to use cameras everywhere, they stop me all the time even with a small little thing, so to buy a bigger camera gonna offer me good quality but huge problems in the backstage
Been waiting for a video like this comparing them all. Thank you
You deserve all the views, all the likes and all the subs. What a well researched, well detailed, well though-out video! Easiest sub ever.
I recently got my GoPro Hero 11 Black and i will never understand why people say it's not a good camera for Vlogging. I make travel content and i can't think of any camera better than a GoPro. Waterproof, great stabilization, compact, and with the media mod and a microphone, great audio quality. Sometimes i use my iPhone 11 as well in low light. Great video guys!
That's because past gopros had a lot of glitch issues, so it wasn't very reliable. It had risks of losing footage. So far the 11 has been much better. I've only had it glitch on me once.

Video came at the perfect time. Thanks for the suggestions and review 😁
This was the perfect video for me, thank you! I’ve been debating on which camera to get and these were the exact products I had in mind, since I already have the 14 pro
You gave an excellent all-around comparison of each kind of camera, based on popularity (by intended users) in this part of the world. You had me watching your video even though I just watched your channel for the first time! Thanks!
Thanks for the thorough review! It's very helpful seeing your footage on each of the cameras. We use a combination of our GoPro and our phone for our vlogging. There are definitely strengths and weaknesses to each of the options!
Thank you for the breakdown! Keep up the good work!
This is an amazing video that highlights all of the strengths and weaknesses of some of the vlogging cameras I use. I personally use the GoPro for B-roll, Timelapses, and POV shots and I use my iPhone 14 Pro for macro shots of food and while talking. I actually purchased the GoPro Hero 11 in December 2022 because of your videos, so thank you!
Highly informative, well-researched video! Now I’m more confident to shop. Thanks! ❤
How I wish I have one of these start my study vlog, still saving money and I know I could make it. Thank you for this review
Literally the best video about vlogging cams in TH-cam. Thank you. This should be the gold standard of product reviews. A+
Recently purchased a go pro hero 11 after watching a heap of your videos along with others on TH-cam. Looking forward to Learning how to maximize its capability and hopefully even get started on my own channel. Thanks for providing us with some quality information!!
I’m going to get a camera but really no idea, watched a lot vids and yours does help me a lot deciding it. Thanks for all the comparisons and advices😉
Wonderful overview of A-list cameras sporting dramatically different form factors. Regarding stabilization 8:30, remember the DJI *doesn’t crop* because it stabilizes via gimbal.
I'm very thankful for clear explanations. ❤

I really like your video !!! Its smooth and really focusing on the gadgets specs !!!. 👍🏼😘✌🏻👍🏼
Amazing and comprehensive video. Thanks a lot
Very detailed and easy understanding information. Thanks so much
Wow Gurl! It was a long and really informative video. This is what I was looking for! Thanks for sharing...
not sponsored. amazing. i am now going around internet searching for that type of content. thanks.
Thanks for the detailed comparison and very well-executed video! You got a new subbie!
This was very helpful in helping me decide which camera I want to eventually upgrade my videomaking with (upgrading from my android phone). Thank you for your beautiful explanations and thorough comparisons!
just watched your this video and became a fan :) and instantly subscribed. Miles to go... Keep going n getting what you desire... God bless you.
Thank you for the thorough review. 🤩
Very informative video. Thank you and more power ❤
I have 3/4 of those cameras. Everything you said about the GoPro and the Pocket 2 is spot on. My wife just got the ZV1 mark 2 today. I haven't had a chance to use it. I often find myself going for the Pocket 2 over the GoPro. I record my table tennis matches and the GoPro always overheats. Major bummer.
Thanks for the video!
Thank you for this exceptional detail video
Loved this video. Few reviewers think to talk about which cameras are FLATTERING when vlogging
Very informative.. Thank you so much for the video.. 🙂
You have done a great job and a nice explanation ❤ Good luck
Super helpful video! Thank you so much!
Thank you Suzy (apologies) if the spelling is incorrect.
Your reviews are always concise, extensive and helpful in helping us all decide the perfect camera. I personally use a Hero10 and iPhone13pro.
Great content.
I am very happy with my IPhone 13 Pro and my GoPro 10. And this Fall I will upgrade both of them!! To me their both easy to use and light enough! Thanks for this amazing video!
This was a really great video🔥
So good video for a camera choices! Thanks alot!
AWESOME VIDEO! Thank you
Very good video… I have used the GoPro Hero 7 now for years (waiting for the 11 - should arrive Friday) and love the form factor and video quality. I have used the DJI Pocket 1 and 2 and love it also for what it is… I also use an iPhone 12 ProMax which, like you say is always with me so gets a lot of use. The GoPro is my go to camera when traveling, hiking or walking around. Looking forward to the new and enhanced Hero 11…. My mirrorless camera is the Canon M50 which I have had since it was released. I have a variety of lenses and absolutely love it… with the larger aperture available on some of the prime lenses, low light video comes out very good. Thank you for your review of these different cameras… well done
Thank you..extremely informative and well done video.
Wow you did an amazing job on this video very detailed and a lot of effort. Looks like a 1 million view video to me well deserved. Thanks for the advice I'm going with the new GoPro Hero 12 with external mic.
Subscribed❤ Best explanation ❤
I have the iPhone 14 pro max and the go pro 11, Carry both, and alternate between the two for vlogs and photos 😀 love your videos
I just found you! I ❤ getting gear recs from a non-bro. Thank you so so so so much!
Great video. I own the 14 pro max and another camera that isn't included in your review, the DJI Action 3. Love that little camera.
Hi, Suzi. I randomly find your video while I was checking for the review for insta360 go 3. I adore your video and looking forward to see more. P.S. Love the video. ❤
Love all your videos and curious about your thoughts on the Insta360 Go 3
I can’t believe how much better the quality and sound is on the iPhone! My two picks are the iPhone and the go pro! The zv1 mark ii mic didn’t sound the best to me! Thank you for the video! I’m looking into getting the canon m200 for vlogging
Thank you so much! Exactly the review and perspective I needed! I’m curious what you use to edit your videos? I’ll check to see if you’ve done a video on that. Being able to combine videos taken from multiple devices and edit them is something I need to learn as I’ve only ever used iMovie. 😂
Great work providing information on the strengths and weaknesses of these cameras. Own the ZV1, pocket 2, GoPro 10 and iPhone XS. It’s knowing when to use them and learning along the way. Totally useable for Vlogging if you’re just starting out. Appreciate the time it must have taken to make this 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻🇬🇧
Thanks for watching!
@@Gemini_ConnectCAN IT BE USED AS A WEBCAM?
I use the gopro hero 11, insta 360 x3, my phone (pixel 7 pro) and a sony a6600. Covers all the areas that I need. Where one camera is weak in certain areas, my other camera(s) fill the gap.
Great tips! ❤
Great video. Very detils. Thx.
Thank you for this video. I just subscribed!💮
Thanks for the amazing analysis 😊
I will go for the GoPro11 right away❤
Hi great videos. Do you have a video on what mic you recommend for the iPhone and go pro ? 🙏
Thanks for the video, good comparison! Its like the saying, the best camera is the one you have with you. Phones has come a long way as well and Iphone 14 shows that, I think if you need one camera for everything the GoPro does a really good job at that. Add the media mod and you have a very nice setup. I do like the Pocket 2 as well; it delivers good quality footage and with the combo it's a great setup. I had the ZVE10 and it was a great camera with super quality, but stabilization was an issue. I bought the Crane M2s with it but allot of the time you just don't have time to set everything up, you just want to pick up and shoot. Most of the time I ended up using Catalyst Browse. I have since picked up a GoPro and it's just so easy.
Curious…you rarely use your Osmo Action 3 and didn’t include in list. Just a simple preference for GoPro? Another well done video!!
Great video 🙏 I’m really enjoying vlogging with the DJI Osmo Pocket 2. Great picture and sound quality and easy to use.
I shot a good portion of a documentary with the iPhone 14 pro max. I got it because I didn’t want to carry around my entire camera setup and risk losing or misplacing something. The footage came out awesome and if you have an Apple workflow I recommend getting 2tb of iCloud storage and when you edit you can take the clips straight from the photos app in your mac
Thank you so much for this video! These are the exact cameras I’ve been looking at! Also I’ve found most reviews are done by either guys & gals who don’t mention the fact that some of us like a bit of blurring and less detail when it comes to facial lines etc. I’ve subbed and will check out your other videos!
Keep up the fantastic work & as a suggestion many other content crew have set up a “buy me a coffee” to allow subscribers to donate directly 🙏🤓👍
Thanks so much for watching! I have PayPal one time donations set up, but I’ve been curious about “Buy Me a Coffee.” I’ll have to try it out.
Thanks for making this video, very helpful. I am a beginner and have a GoPro7 and Iphone 12 ProMax.
I have been using the Iphone without a microphone and the images were ok - not the sound quality.
I was using the GoPro for under water videos but I will start using it more and add a microphone and test the settings to see what I can achieve. I am not familiar with video production softwares but I am keen to learn how to make good quality videos without breaking the bank 😂 It’s for home renovation videos….
What accessory do you recommend to hold the camera when walking and filming?
Cheers from Australia
Wow, your videos are super interesting and detailed !!! I have a question for you, when you shoot indoor (yourself, face cam video, like the shoot when you are behind your table presenting the gears) which one of these cameras do you prefer ? I have an iPhone 12 , I found the camera is already pretty decent, I wanted to buy a new camera and my husband showed me the the GoPro. I do mostly indoor face cam vlog : is it preferable to go for a new iPhone (like the 14pro), or is the GoPro 11 good enough ? It seems to me that GoPro doesn't handle the lightening pretty good. Thank you !
Great comparison of these cameras, as far as vlogging is concerned. I have three out of four of them, I don't have the Sony. All of them have their own pros and cons. I like the Pocket 2 Creator combo because of the wireless mic, one you have it paired, it works every time by just turning it on. I love the easy setup. The iPhone is my goto for vertical video. And the GoPro is my goto when getting stable video is an issue. Thanks for sharing Suzie.
Which one has the best clarity ?
For "street walking" type of videos
@@jeevanandham07 They all have good clarity.
Thanks for the thorough comparisons! The GoPro system seems the most trouble-free and has such a great ecosystem of accessories. An Iphone is indeed a $1k camera, OR it is a life device that comes with a free camera that is always in your pocket. However, I do not want any part of my photo/video workflow including ICloud or have my footage limited by the way that Apple almost insists on storing/managing the data.
You can always buy the S23U instead, it has better stablization with way less digital warping and a pretty comparable video and destroys the iPhone when it comes to zoom and telephoto lens stablization.
this was helpful
Well explained 👍
So deep review 🙌
Recently bought new gear, all of it should be arriving in July and I watched this channel for all the info on them. Very helpful thank you very much
Best video ever so helpful!!! Can you do a review on the insta360 the white one
Hello. Thanks for your analysis. I am interested in the osmo pocket 2, but not sure about the combo. The major problem I have is recording b-roll on the beach and gets the annoying wind sound. Do you think the extra mic that comes with the combo might reduce the wind problem to only keep the wave sound. Thanks
Nice review Susie ... good timing as I am looking at each of these for my next camera.
Hi great stuff can you recommend best camera for my at home actor self tapes???
This White Sony ZVE-10 is so Beautiful and compact in Design, Simply Amazing ❤
I would just buy them all because each one of them compensate eachother and you can just choose which one to you want to use based on the situation you are in. Great infomation and thanks for sharing to the world.
iphone only for vlogging. For B-Rolls I use X-T4 but very rarely, it mostly stays in the studio for my talking heads. I need convenience and speed when on the go and filming solo, but you are right about the fact that the phone can get lost and stolen, this is why I am thinking of getting a go-pro or an action 3... too many choices, not enough money haha
Very nice video ;)
I have a GoPro 10 and a Sony zV1. I'll be honest with you; I was expecting more from the Sony zV1. The stability of the Sony isn't good enough. If you use the maximum stabilization level, they crop the video a little bit, and this can be annoying. Additionally, when I need to capture some shots, I have to walk very slowly and move the camera very slowly; otherwise, my videos turn out a little blurry, but now sometimes i use the sony for vlog or gopro 10. One good thing about sony zv1, when you don't have a lot lights, the Sony ZV1 does the job very well. GoPro tends to struggle in low-light conditions.
Simplicity is the best. Lightweight and easy point-and-shoot cameras are the best choices for vlogging 😊
Good videos, i like it 😍
Impressive. Great work.
great job. thanks
When you use the iPhone for vlogging, do you use the front or rear camera when filming yourself? And thanks for the great video! :)
Hi, you come to Turkey :) As a creator I want to ask is other cameras capable of shooting 8:7 ratio to edit multiple platforms? Do you use 8:7 when you record? Thanks very nice video.
omg i just watched 47secs & i already love your channel!!! subsrcibed!!!
Nice and detailed .for me I like go pro hero 11. For vlogging under water ❤
I use the Gopro during the day because of its incredible image, stabilization quality and the Sony A7S3 during the night. This cam is a low light beast!
Are you confident when using the Pocket 2 that you're face will always be in focus, or do you really need to monitor using the smartphone?
Al so own the ZV1, pocket 2, GoPro 10
I think the Go Pro - it seems to meet most needs, has good sound, and that $50 a year unlimited storage is very attractive (at least to a beginner).
in terms of image quality i think the zv1 m2 is the most natural because it has less digital sharpening compared to all of those 3.
Hi dear, how do you store your videos, usb? I have too many video on my phone.
I heard the auto mic zv-1 is settings is not the best, so using the front and rear mic might sound better
the best tutorial vid ever👍
maam i am planning to do a walking tour vlog. please suggest what is the best gear for my content? thanks
I buing this week a GoPro 11 this is for record some stuff i do the best choice and its the creater edition with the handstick. The Iphone 14 pro is follow in December because my BQ Aquaris X5 is still working so i don´t need the iphone yet. Thanks for this test between this 4 cameras.Shout out to Shelby Church i found you over her Vlogging Channel.
