i think its great that AC is branching out to different races and cultures. it really shows a lot of diversity in the order and that they are not just all the same. (by that i mean white guys who's parents where killed, it gets boring after a while)

I loved Adéwalé. He was fighting for something real not just out to kill the templars. He wasn't fueled by revenge of personal gain and he truly fought for freedom for those who didn't have it. Exactly how an assassin *should* be. 🇹🇹🇭🇹 is his nationality I think

Almost stopped playing AC Rogue when I had to kill Adewalle.
When they told me to kill adé in AC rogue. i just used my hands ... None of hidden blades or Swords .... But that was so sad :'(

I hardly call it a bromance. Keep in mind that Adewale eventually left Edward because he got tired of his selfishness. Their relationship got more and more strained with each year they were together.

Freedom Cry was definitely a real Assassin's Creed game, played it several times because of how well it really represents freedom in the franchise instead of having 1 Templar master mind saying, " I'm the bad guy, JUST TRY AND KILL ME!"..... (hidden blade stab)

Been watching a lot of old AC trailers lately, mostly to remember what the franchise used to be. Looking back, I found it strange how Assassin's Creed never seems to delve into stuff like racism more. Yes Freedom Cry is based on it, but never to a 'realistic' degree. They seem to avoid things like child soldiers, rape, sexism, child prostitution, nationalism, philosophy, morality, jingoism, political ideologies, war crimes and other historical atrocities that SHOULD be in a series such as this. Whenever the situation comes up they give us the 'lite' version of it and move on. Have historical things like this boost up controversy in a good way and gives the story more emotional power. I hope future AC games embrace the REAL history.
+TheApaura Remember, Ubisoft is trying to deal with the general public. What you're looking for is more of an indie game. If you want something that deals with realistic history, there was a game called Imagination is the Only Escape that was pitched to developers based on the Holocaust. It was shut down mid-production by the big companies. So... Yeah. If you want accuracy, you have to slip it under the radar or go indie. Or Game Jolt. Plus, check out Extra Credits if you want to understand more about producing games and support a group pushing for better games.

We've had Black, Creole, Native American, Syrian protagonists, in addition to the requisite White ones. I've always appreciated that. There aren't many franchises outside of the fighting game franchises that can say that. I think the fact that there was such an outcry over Connor in AC3, and that Avilene and Adewale were relegated to a handheld game and DLC release respectively speaks says more about the gaming public than it does Ubisoft...

Adewale is probably my favorite assassin's in this franchise, even more so than Ezio. I prefer a full game with Adewale as the main protagonist, and not just a stand alone DLC

I predicted this back in when assassin's creed 4 came out
I really love how Adewale feels like a fucking tank of an assassin in-game. With that huge machete and blunderbuss, he was a menace at short range. Issue is, this DLC was short and glitchy. Even after patching it a few times on Xbox One, the characters still have that weird mouth glitch (th-cam.com/video/LsnRQ0s1CQ4/w-d-xo.html) and the ship still sinks to Davy Jone's Locker much more often than in base game (in my experience, I have not seen it in main game since launch and it has happened three times in my play through of freedom cry). I think I beat the story in like three days where I only played around an hour at a time.
Overall, disappointing DLC and I wanted something amazing for Edward's first mate. He deserved it.

Nobody ever complained about this game…it’s almost like people aren’t pissed about a characters skin colour, but rather about the tone deaf pseudo virtue signalling.
Does anyone else feel like Adewale is forgotten? He doesn’t get enough recognition imo. He was a true assassin, only motivated to bring freedom to persecuted folk. Not motivated by selfishness like Edward/Arno were.

Ok, so I'm a bit confused at something. Why is his assassin gear black? Yes I get that HE'S black and shadows and yada yada, but when you're out there in the fucking Caribbean and the sun is beating down on you, having Black Gear (that absorbs all that heat) seems really stupid.
SBroproductions From his perspective, he doesn't even know that black cloth absorbs heat. Look at his background, he was a slave, slaves didn't have the right to be educated, then he killed the person that "owns" him. So that's that. On another note Black Gear looks cool.
