The combat, the parkour, 9/10 times you'd most likely fall to your death instead of grabbing the damn ledge. And the races, MY GOD THE RACES. Not a single one of them was fun. I think the only positive for me was the story, it's... Plausible, I guess. But yeah.

AC1 until Revelation gave the player more agency and control over you're character plus that "fall to your death instead of grabbing the damn ledge" could be you're fault for not clicking something. I guess that's why ubisoft changed the parkour mechanics and made it automated to make it easier.

Guns are so fucking overpowered in AC, that's exactly why a world war 2 settings would absolutely NOT work in an AC game, because of how overpowered they are i always get killed because im fighting two guards then a third one shoots my back and i lose all my health or half depending on the guards level.
Fun fact, Arno’s watch always stops at 53 seconds (that was where the second hand was when his father was killed and the watch broke) and remains ticking there until he sets it back to 12. Still useful as a 53 second stopwatch, and it also obviously has sentimental value
I love this trailer. This was one of the last true Assassin’s Creed games before it started to become more of an RPG. I loved how professional and slick the old Assassins were.

Did you play the old games ? 1 was during thr crusades, 2 was Renaissance Italy. 3 was American Revolution. 4 was pirate Era Caribbean. Unity was French Revolution. Syndicate was industrial England. Only origins talked about the origins. Odyssey didn't even have anything to do with assasins, and Valhalla is a viking game

Unity is what assassins creed was always meant to be. Parkour, stealth, combat, and customization were just perfect. And for a 2014 game it looks incredible. I personally believe unity to be one of the elite AC games. Def in my top 3.
While I’m still here, I’d like to say this. I will never see Odyssey, origins, and Valhalla as AC games. I’ve bought each of them, gave them all a chance. Played them halfway, and I just gave up on them. I can see them as their own line of games, but having the “Assassins Creed” name just doesn’t feel right. Syndicate was the last Assassins Creed game that felt like an Assassins Creed game.
When it got released I didn’t go on internet because of spoilers and once I finished story and checked internet I was surprised people had problems with game such as glitches and bugs because mine ran smooth without any problems

Also it would need to be cinematic not those shitty notifications: reduce distance to target, or have a timer on the screen. That takes us out of the immersion
All of sudden, the whole place become foggy and there's sound of metal clinging. The fog slowly are gone and it's reveal nothing but Assasins behind it. They are saved.
Woodkid really knows how to make music that fits the AC series perfectly. It a shame he didn't win but look at how successful he's become because he took that leap of faith on tv.

Alot people think Elise frowns because she realizes she and Arno are on opposite sides. I think she is relieved to see Arno (her best friend since childhood) at first but gets tense when he doesn’t smile back and instead looking like he’s gonna kill her. I think she’s thinking okay Arno lets talk about this. Look at how she looks at him up down like all of sudden he’s someone she doesn’t recognize.

If you see closely,this reflected Altair's first game trailer in so many ways. Arno assassinated same as Altair did,by jumping with the same pose. The assassination took place on a gallow,same as first trailer. Arno killed guards on his way,same as Altair. Awesome
It's so sad and disappointing watching this trailer now because I honestly think Unity had a lot of potential. The idea of a "Star-Crossed Lovers" plot between Arno and Elise would've made for a fantastic story if they had been better characterized. Like instead of using the easy cliche of being childhood friends, we should've seen their relationship gradually progress over the course of the game from being adversaries, to becoming friends and then eventually falling in love. If the game succeeded in making us emotionally invested in Arno and Elise's relationship, then it would've made Arno's inner conflict of being torn between his love for Elise and his loyalty to the Assassins actually meaningful. Obviously beyond the storyline they needed far better quality-assurance to fix all the numerous graphical glitches, voice acting with authentic French accents instead of immersion-breaking British accents (I mean seriously Ubisoft you're *A FRENCH GAME COMPANY FOR FUCKS SAKE*) and in general they needed to address the fact that AC's combat system is _long_ overdue for an overhaul. But still, Unity had serious potential and it's a damn shame it all went to waste.
Yeah, I have never used smoke in any early games because the combat is too easy, I can killed a whole army without losing a single drop of blood. But in Unity everything is different, every guard had a gun and before I could kill one guy I was shot to death.
Lol when this was released it was hated by most AC fans. AC has been on a decline since AC3. I now look back and appreciate this game for trying to do something new whilst sticking to the identity of the series. I wish they went further in this direction instead of abandoning the identity of the series for what's trending.

I feel bad for arno. At first, elise was affectionate towards Arno and Arno to her. But ever since her father died, vengeance overwhelmed her. Arno was blind to this therefore he was manipulated multiple times throughout the game (Most obvious is the town drunk part). After elise's death, arno realised his mistakes and rectified it in Dead kings dlc. Imo, Elise was Lively and affectionate at first but ever since her father died, She became annoying. I'm not saying she deserved her death but I already knew she was gonna die the moment she got mad at arno for saving her life. "It wasn't yours to save!" "I am willing to bet anything to put germain down!" "If you don't have the stomach for revenge, then I don't need your help!"
I've never played this game but 1:30 gives me chills, watched this like 15 times in a row for it. The way the music begins somewhat dark and fast paced shows how urgent the situation, but then it becomes triumphant and hopeful as he walks away from his first opponents under a rain of random rose petals while drawing his rapier. Holy shit.

DUDE ! 2022 and this trailer still hits somewhat different. No matter what people say about the game. I enjoyed it so much that it was the first AC game I ever got to platinum. Not to mention that the background and the setting is still intruiguing to this day. Of course, it has flaws but which game doesn't ? Overall, a very unique and enjoyable game for me ✌️
The hype for this game was so high, the story could have been much better, If only Ubisoft didnt worry about deadlines and actually wanted to make a good game, they would take time to perfect it. Unpopular fact: The first three condemned men who were executed before elise were also assasins who fought alongside arno on the first trailer of unity. The last guy where his face was shown for a split second was the assasin wearing the green robe (the one who was shooting a pistol). Play both trailers at slow speed you will see they are the same.

This trailer actually does a good job of showcasing Unity’s new stuff, like the guards seeing Arno as he runs through the crowd, the new parkour and combat systems, etc.

Honestly they could have went somewhere with Arno. Maybe even close to Ezio's epic story but they had to switch to another time line and assassin with Syndicate. :l

what I really like about unity is that it was perhaps to most game most focused on stealth in the series despite its multiple approach system, since the combat system was the most difficult one and if you tried to spearhead your way through the guards, you were most likely to be killed on the spot, especially in the later game
I played this game in 2020 and it still so incredible , I guess after 20 years people are gonna still love this game , so I request Ubisoft to please create a remastered version for this game or a remake of story instead of thinking about black flag 2

The strongest thing about this trailer is that it makes me legit intimidated. It shook me how strongly i felt every head being cut down.
Alot people think Elise frowns because she realizes she and Arno are on opposite sides. I think she is relieved to see Arno (her best friend since childhood) at first but gets tense when he doesn’t smile back and instead looking like he’s gonna kill her. I think she’s thinking okay Arno lets talk about this. Look at how she looks at him up down like all of sudden he’s someone she doesn’t recognize.

It's so sad and disappointing watching this trailer now because I honestly think Unity had a lot of potential. The idea of a "Star-Crossed Lovers" plot between Arno and Elise would've made for a fantastic story if they had been better characterized. Like instead of using the easy cliche of being childhood friends, we should've seen their relationship gradually progress over the course of the game from being adversaries, to becoming friends and then eventually falling in love. If the game succeeded in making us emotionally invested in Arno and Elise's relationship, then it would've made Arno's inner conflict of being torn between his love for Elise and his loyalty to the Assassins actually meaningful. Obviously beyond the storyline they needed far better quality-assurance to fix all the numerous graphical glitches, voice acting with authentic French accents instead of immersion-breaking British accents (I mean seriously Ubisoft you're *A FRENCH GAME COMPANY FOR FUCKS SAKE*) and in general they needed to address the fact that AC's combat system is _long_ overdue for an overhaul. But still, Unity had serious potential and it's a damn shame it all went to waste.

Lol when this was released it was hated by most AC fans. AC has been on a decline since AC3. I now look back and appreciate this game for trying to do something new whilst sticking to the identity of the series. I wish they went further in this direction instead of abandoning the identity of the series for what's trending.

I feel bad for arno. At first, elise was affectionate towards Arno and Arno to her. But ever since her father died, vengeance overwhelmed her. Arno was blind to this therefore he was manipulated multiple times throughout the game (Most obvious is the town drunk part). After elise's death, arno realised his mistakes and rectified it in Dead kings dlc. Imo, Elise was Lively and affectionate at first but ever since her father died, She became annoying. I'm not saying she deserved her death but I already knew she was gonna die the moment she got mad at arno for saving her life. "It wasn't yours to save!" "I am willing to bet anything to put germain down!" "If you don't have the stomach for revenge, then I don't need your help!"

I've never played this game but 1:30 gives me chills, watched this like 15 times in a row for it. The way the music begins somewhat dark and fast paced shows how urgent the situation, but then it becomes triumphant and hopeful as he walks away from his first opponents under a rain of random rose petals while drawing his rapier. DUDE ! 2022 and this trailer still hits somewhat different. No matter what people say about the game. I enjoyed it so much that it was the first AC game I ever got to platinum. Not to mention that the background and the setting is still intruiguing to this day. Of course, it has flaws but which game doesn't ? Overall, a very unique and enjoyable game for me ✌️

The hype for this game was so high, the story could have been much better, If only Ubisoft didnt worry about deadlines and actually wanted to make a good game, they would take time to perfect it. This trailer actually does a good job of showcasing Unity’s new stuff, like the guards seeing Arno as he runs through the crowd, the new parkour and combat systems, etc.
1:55 so inaccurate. Arno would've landed on him, gotten up, drawn out his sword, wait for him to stand up and draw out his sword, then fight to the death.

I agree with you, it had a lot of amazing things that brought the series back to its roots, but then only did these a few times. Also a lot of things felt half finished and not just because of the glitches.
in terms of parkour and gameplay it was one of the best. the map was good but a bit repetitive and arno was very generic

what I really like about unity is that it was perhaps to most game most focused on stealth in the series despite its multiple approach system, since the combat system was the most difficult one and if you tried to spearhead your way through the guards, you were most likely to be killed on the spot, especially in the later game

Still to this day the ending of this trailer gives me goosebumps. 2014-2015 was a different time, especially for a 14-15 year old. I love coming back to this just to get that goosebump feeling.
