I remember watching these races, Montoya really was amazing and never got the credit he deserved. Next to Schumacher he was the most fearless towards his competitors. Raikkonen had the better balanced car but Montoya had the straight line speed. Both drivers had the raw skill to put their machines to work with the best capbilities they were given. No one bitched, they just made it work.

The BMW engine had a little more power that year, but wasn't always the best with reliability in the last seasons Williams used the V10s. The McLaren chassis was not the handful the previous comment claimed it was. It was used again in 03 and only lost to Schumacher's Ferrari by 3 points so it was actually quite strong, just not quite as strong as the 02 Ferrari that Schumacher won with that year.
