@@everythingaquarium my only issue is trying to find a lighting solution that doesn’t look tacky considering the reinforcement bar in the middle. Is it 4 10 gallon lights in the quadrants? Or would an overhanging light be the best solution? Money isn’t necessarily an issue, but I’m doing a black water tank so don’t need anything crazy in terms of spectrum or intensity. Thank you!
In my opinion, just a cheap Walmart/Home Depot shop light hung above the tank is the way to go. BUT they can be VERY bright so you need to get the lowest output light and have it on a timer in order to prevent algae blooms.
Those are the same lids for the Aqueon 75-gallon tanks. The main difference between the 60-gallon & 75-gallon is the height. The 60-gallon is a shorter height.
Just bought one of these last week i sort of regret not just going with the 75 which is just a little taller 21 inches so I could feel better about keeping angelfish, which can get pretty tall and in a shorter tank I just feel like they might feel a little cramped other than that yeah I agree It's a great tank beats the 55
I actually found the wood and rocks from someone on facebook marketplace. Best place for that kind of stuff in my opinion unless you can dish out the extra $$$ unfortunately
Hello, I am thinking of getting this tank. Any ideas on a stand for it, and light for plants? Also, you mentioned canopy/lid, where do you get that? I have killifish so I can’t have open tanks.
For the stand, I made my own, but you can get any 75/90G stand and it will fit. For the lid, you can get the 75/90G lids from your lfs, petco or amazon. You can also diy with double paned polycarbonate. For lights, you can run the gambit...I use stick plant grow lights i picked up from home depot on my planted and saltwater tanks. I also have hygger 24/7 lights that are pretty nice, i got on amazon. lights are tricky sometimes...i have the same lights on my african tank and community tanks...algae growth on the community tank is a pain even with the lower nitrates 😵💫 all that stated...awesome tank setup. Nice and clean. Maybe i need to go and look at a few other videos, but I super curious about the mod you did on the FX canister.
This is a 20 long on steroids. I like the longer, but shallower tank too. Hope to get a 40 later in the future, but may skip that and go straight to this. Depends if lids, stands are easily available too
Do you know what the best thing about this TANK is that makes it the ultimate tank ? Its the biggest tank that you can have and still be capable of moving it yourself..... i also like the 40 BREEDER.
Your tank is beautiful. It looks like you found some nice big pieces of driftwood. Are you using two canisters on this? What brand are the glass lids? Thanks for making me regret buying a 55 with expensive stand 😂 Now i see as I'm becoming more knowledgeable that a long and shallow would be more beneficial for both South American Dwarf cichlids.
Thank you for the compliment! Yes two canisters a FX4 as my main filtration and a Sicce Whale that I got dirt cheap for more biological media and water polishing. The lids are the aqueon versa tops made for a 75 gallon aquarium which is a more common sized aquarium but the 60 breeders are the same length X width just shallower!
Thank you for the video. Definitely have no videos out there with this tank setup. Nice aquascaping by the way!
Glad you liked it!
Great footprint!
Picked this up today, in love!
Awesome. I think a lot of people will once they hear of it

What lids did you use..nice looking tank

I have one. Easier maintenance than a 75 for this old man!
I hear that, less water with the same great dimensions. I don't mind my dry armpits vs with a 75 always soaked lol!

Yeah, it is definitely not the best for tall fish
What brand sand is that? Looks really nice
I am not sure it is mostly likely custom-built
Great video! Curious about the scale though as well. Where did you get the wood and rocks? Hard to find large enough hardscape for larger tanks.

Lid and stand is the same as a 75.
Glad there are people with the same taste! The footprint is the same as a 75 and 90's.

Haha great point!
Where did you get the stand?
