A heat pump system needs a much higher capacity AC compressor than a simple traditional AC system, due to the much higher capacity they don't need to over clock it for the same amount of cooling you got from the overclocked compressor in the old cars.

There are lots of options! I chose Apex VS-5RS in brushed clear. Its a fully forged 18*9.5 wheel. It’s expensive but there are lots of way more cost efficient options. 18*9 direct fit flow formed wheel can be had for $200 a wheel and 245 or 255 square tire setup is great on this car. I went 265/40/18 and I absolutely love it! Hope this helps!
I actually prefer the softer suspension, I bought my M3P and replaced two ICE performance cars with it (Golf R and Camaro SS 1LE). Both of those cars had adaptive suspension (which would’ve been nice to see on the M3P)but in lieu of that I’d prefer a softer suspension setup over a more aggressive setup, especially since I typically had my adaptive suspension cars in comfort mode 90% of the time.
How is the M3P vs the R and SS 1LE from a driving dynamics, steering and handling feel. Which one did you enjoy the most hucking around bends. I'm considering all 3 but the Camaros visibility bothers me.
Because of you I ordered a set of 4 silver MW03 Martian wheels in 18 inch size a couple of months ago. I did not see any affiliate links, so hopefully I did not miss that. I am still waiting for them to arrive as they seem to have a 3 to 4 month wait for the rims. I'll let you know how they work out once they arrive, but I have high hopes they will improve the ride. The other reason I ordered a new tire size is to hopefully be able to have a tire replaced on long road trips if for some reason one suddenly fails. I had to wait 3 days once to get one of the OEM 20-inch tires when a nail sidewall puncture took out one of my nearly new tires (2-months old). There I was stuck for 3 days waiting for a replacement tire. Hopefully that will never happen again now with 18-inch tires.
I picked up MPP Comfort Coilvers. What are some of the other products they have that you think I should get? I just want a solid platform and want to do all the upgrades at once, but not sure what I need. Thanks!
urgh, I've just ordered another M3P over the MYP as the ride in the Y was unacceptable. Does this mean newer Ys have improved (better damped) suspension? I can understand why Tesla are quiet abut these changes but wish they'd come clean
I wonder when they made it softer? My M3P is March 2021 delivered. I don't think it's really soft, but I'm coming from KWv2's in my last car, LOL. In spirited driving, I think more downforce would help more than firmer suspension. I'm also with you on the wheels and tires; Not a big fan of the stretched. I'm at 13k miles and will need new tires soon. Deciding what to do: 1. OEM Tires 2. Switch from 235 to 245mm tires, all else the same, to reduce stretch 3. Get 19" Wheels and 255mm tires for more performance, sidewall, and lower cost tires.
I’m confused what were mentioning and comparing here. My 2021 sr+ has pretty much all these features. Same with the windows same with the interior same with the headlights. You say it like it’s only for the 2022 performance model
glad to see that they made if soft. For someone that ordered M3P. I test drove the stardard and felt that it was stiff. Stiff as other performance cars. I was really concerned that the Performance would be stiffer than that. For someone that daily drive to work, i dont need the car to be stiff. Its not a track car.
Great vid, I’m worried bout serious potholes on I-70; KC to Denver, do you think these low profile tires n sidewalls can hold up to road conditions vs the previous M3P…thx…peace
I'm planning to upsize the stock 235/35r20 Pirellis to a 255/35r20 Michelin PS4S for a little more sidewall white retaining the OEM wheels. With a 1/2-inch increase on tire diameter and width, I'm expecting a 50km (30-mile) range loss. Do you think it would be more?
Yep agree, worth swapping out front and rear motors for higher performance models, seats and interior cabin parts can be exchanged for alternative including HUD, manual switches, led lighting. Would also recommend a full body panel swap out. Have heard Audi panels will fit with minor alteration and some welding. An argument could be made for new wiring loom, HVAC, carpets, wipers and glass. Battery's pretty good and worth keeping
Some TH-camrs have tried the third party suspensions and said that they did not give much benefit. What I've found that works is to get 18" custom wheels for a Model 3P, or 19" custom wheels for a Model YP, and put high profile tires on them. Tires should be low rolling resistance.
Drew chose to buy another M3P rather than a MS. And Kyle thought the MS was too long. I take it that both of you think the M3P is a better car than the MS overall. True? I ask because I'm trying to decide which one to get next.
Think of the MS as the electric equivalent of a muscle car. Superfast in a straight line, a bit clunky on the curves. The M3P is equivalent to a track car, not quite as fast in a straight line, but it handles like a dream in the curves...think BMW M3 or a Porsche Cayman. I own a 2022 M3P and a Porsche Panamera. You put coilovers on an M3P (I am installing UP coilovers this week, swaybars, control arms, etc, and you have a legitimately fast track car that can compete with the best of them. The only other think you need to add is bigger brakes.
On my 2021 Model 3 Performance, Brake Boosting makes it launch slower. Best launch IMHO is to just let it hold itself, no feet on petals, then just hammer it. But yeah, you were at 38%, also.
Is Tesla still limiting the performance over 60 miles with a lot state of charge? Bjørn Nyland made a view some time ago where he troubleshooted this problem. Apparently the Long Range has more performance under these circumstances.
I have a new m3 lr. It has terrible wind noise coming front the driver window along with other issues. The wind noise is the worst because I brought it in twice and they haven't properly fixed it. All the issues have taken away from the enjoyment of owning a tesla.
Amazed that suspension is so different, I too have mixed feelings but agree MOST will want softer ride, maybe even me if I have a sports car on the side. :D
I have a late 2021 model y performance and I sold my pirelli tires and replaced them with michelin all season pilot 4's with 295/35/21 in the back and 275/35/21 in the front and I love the ride quality and durability a lot more
Maybe that's not just double pane windows that improve noise isolation. My December 2020 Model 3 wasn't that much different from my Feb 2019 Model 3 without double windows. In my opinion, in my Model 3s, most noise was coming from wheels, wheel arches.
Crazy how much has changed. I did an 11.271 @ 121.74 mph in my 2022 Model 3 Performance this weekend. Here is a video about how I did it th-cam.com/video/ExNNArhYsns/w-d-xo.html
To bad the tires aren't outside the window maybe the window would help unfortunately road noise doesn't come through the window it comes through the floor
@10:00 "how performancy is the person really buying a performance?" Just what I have been thinking myself. I would go along with stiffer suspension on the performance than the non-performance.
About 280-290Kwh per mile at 70-75mph about 300-310kwh per mile. At 30-40mph about 250kwh per mile - all on my 2021 model. Divide these numbers in a 82kwh battery
Why do you want to alter a perfectly good car? I can also understand putting on a film to protect the paint, but it’s completely covered obscuring the paint.
How does Tesla determine model year? Is a 9/21 build date a ‘21, or ‘22? Or are we moving away from model year to build date? ie, build date = model year.
It used to be that Tesla doesn't do model years. Then they started doing October (first month in the last quarter) as the beginning of the next model year. I think they were trying to be more like other car manufacturers in doing this. However, Tesla may add a certain feature at any time during the model year.

Hi, is this new performance version with updated suspension only came out in 2022 model?
Thanks.
How come you don't do the suspension yourself?
Does the new 2022 Model Ys get the new double pane window treatment? Do they get the giga casting treatment?
I personally love the cheaper quality steering wheel. They don’t get shiny as they age!
I too love the feel of it. It does not get shiny or greasy.
haha noticed this too - but they've changed the material for 2022?
Heat pumps are very inefficient on very cold days for heat, I was wondering how much this affects range in the winter.
One Lap old Model 3 Performance vs. New Model 3 Performance ?
A range test with Martian wheels would be awesome!
Where did he get the wrap?!
I picked up MPP Comfort Coilvers. What are some of the other products they have that you think I should get? I just want a solid platform and want to do all the upgrades at once, but not sure what I need. Thanks!
Are the motors the same?
Magna will produce the Fisker Ocean ???
Not a Good Plan.
urgh, I've just ordered another M3P over the MYP as the ride in the Y was unacceptable.
Deciding what to do:
1. OEM Tires
2. Switch from 235 to 245mm tires, all else the same, to reduce stretch
Can you get wheel/tire insurance?
Still dealing with phantom braking?
how does it compare to Audi Q4 e-tron that you have tested?
Compressor overclock is now always on during track mode. You can hear it starting right away!
Anyone know what color that wrap is? What a beauty..
Gloss rock gray but he said in video he wasn’t certain that was the name
glad to see that they made if soft. For someone that ordered M3P. I test drove the stardard and felt that it was stiff. Stiff as other performance cars. I was really concerned that the Performance would be stiffer than that. For someone that daily drive to work, i dont need the car to be stiff. Its not a track car.
Led internal dome lights?
Great vid, I’m worried bout serious potholes on I-70; KC to Denver, do you think these low profile tires n sidewalls can hold up to road conditions vs the previous M3P…thx…peace
Whattt where did you get that wrap? Love that color
Maybe you should invest in a wind-shield for your microphone if you plan to film outdoors.
If people really want a softer Tesla, should use adaptive suspension for performance model. Soft suspension is fine for long range non performance.
Any recommendations or is MPP the only way to go?
@@adeelio mpp & unplugged performance and some other company i forgot are the only options.
pretty sure mpp has the best product
Somebody had done a review of the 3rd party suspension kits and said it didn't change things much.
@@quentyns I don't want to do the track. I don't think I'd like driving a car that's too big. I'd probably regret not having bought another M3P.
You should make a list of your favorite CO roads. I'd love to head out there from FL and drive those roads for a few weeks.
Is the suspension now similar for the LR and Performance?
Yes! All Model 3’s have the same suspension now (not lowered) lol
@@johny1220 know for a fact, or guessing?
@@MrQwerty3000 fact. The Performance Model 3 doesn’t have a lowered suspension anymore (Model Y performance still does though)
but why coupe doors? if they want it to be silent
I have a late 2021 model y performance and I sold my pirelli tires and replaced them with michelin all season pilot 4's with 295/35/21 in the back and 275/35/21 in the front and I love the ride quality and durability a lot more
you guys driving in tahoe?
Maybe that's not just double pane windows that improve noise isolation.
My December 2020 Model 3 wasn't that much different from my Feb 2019 Model 3 without double windows.
In my opinion, in my Model 3s, most noise was coming from wheels, wheel arches.
What’s the wrap color?
The driver said “Gloss rock gray, I think.”
With rubber bands on the wheels and as soft as it is; what will it be like with some sidewall? Should the have active dampers at that price?
Crazy how much has changed. I did an 11.271 @ 121.74 mph in my 2022 Model 3 Performance this weekend. Here is a video about how I did it
th-cam.com/video/ExNNArhYsns/w-d-xo.html
To bad the tires aren't outside the window maybe the window would help unfortunately road noise doesn't come through the window it comes through the floor
Grey Dual-Motor at your service 😉 (Ryzen chip and L-Ion 12v) located off i-95 in MD.
@10:00 "how performancy is the person really buying a performance?" Just what I have been thinking myself. I would go along with stiffer suspension on the performance than the non-performance.
Oh my god this is my dream wrap
I hate to nit-pick but you REALLY need to buy some mics because the audio is really bad.
I'm still getting due Bills done on my Feb 6 delivery
What is the real mileage of M3P driving at 65-70 mph? any estimate
About 280-290Kwh per mile at 70-75mph about 300-310kwh per mile.
At 30-40mph about 250kwh per mile - all on my 2021 model.
Divide these numbers in a 82kwh battery
A simpler answer to your question:
I have the 2022 model (2weeks old)
Charged to 85%, 2 people in the car, AC on level 3, 75-80mph at 210miles
Why do you want to alter a perfectly good car? I can also understand putting on a film to protect the paint, but it’s completely covered obscuring the paint.
Sounds like you’d like a BMW like adaptive suspension.
Man I love that car color!
Please make a video dedicated to why the Model Y Perf needs track mode based on the benefits you see from the Model 3 Perf Track Mode. Thanks.
Also going from a 11 malibu to a model 3 the steering ratio didn't bug me at all, All settings in sport
Damn dude! Quit slamming those doors so hard!
