    I am very happy the Lord has given you the awareness of what I was trying to explain to you about the box that I wanted! Now you are thinking the way that I was trying to express my dimensions to you for my vehicle!

    The entrance of the trunk is a big part. Gotta be able to get it in :).

    Another video idea, take the height and depth of your potential box, cut it out of a piece of cardboard, hold it like it was the side of the box and make sure it can fit through the opening.
    If it can't, shrink it until it does. Then you have the maximum box size that will fit.
    If the car has a fold down seat and the box can be installed from the passenger compartment, make sure box fits through the door opening.
    On this particular video I see some angles on the top left and right edges that might prevent a 12" tall box the full width from fitting. It those are metal braces, the box might need to be made narrower or shorter to clear them. 👍

    Sometimes you got to get down to basics because people don't know and they won't even try to figure out or they don't trust the information somebody will give them so I appreciate you for dumping it down for those that may not understand and you meeting them at their level because my belief is at one point in life someone or something has to teach a person how to do it

    Car owners are loving this. Perfect timing!
    You nailed my trunk dimensions long distance with a tape measure and some pics. Port got space to work etc.

    Great video!! Another note that a lot of people forget, it doesn't matter how much air volume you have in your trunk if you can't get the box in there.
    For instance in my cars trunk the largest box I could theoretically fit would be about ~5 cubic feet net. The largest box I can fit through the trunk opening is only ~2.8 cubic feet net. If I remove the back seats to get a larger opening I can fit ~3.7 cubic feet net.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I always recommend people take the time to make a box mockup out of cardboard and tape. This way you can verify it will fit through the opening. 👍

      In my case I measured the trunk itself. And then we used trial and error to figure out how much of my car had to come apart to get the box in lol.
      I would have been able to fit a slightly larger box, but I'm running an 18" and didn't have enough height to fire it forward. So I had to fire it up and that cost me a little air volume.

    Lol... great video I've been told before well my trunk space on Google says it's got 17cubic feet and you can only build a box that has 6 cubic feet to fit in there.

    Whats up bro.. with one of your boxes done right.. which way would you face the subs in a trunk? To the rear or front firing?

  • @realitywatch21

    You must have read my mind with this video...lol This was the exact question that I had for you. The measurements would you need for my Mazda 3 for the box and what subs for the optimal performance. Amp is a Punch 1,000 Watt Class-bd Mono. I have one 12 now but I want to go with an MBE box with two 8's or two 10's or maybe even two 12's.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 ปีที่แล้ว

      He would need the measurements you want the box to take up as shown in this video. Also take into account how the box would fit through the trunk opening.
      If the seats fold down, it might be able to fit from the front through the side door opening.
      Once he has the external dimensions of the theoretical box (that will actually fit through the opening) he can calculate the air space available.
      A hatchback can fit a larger box due to the larger opening. If you have a trunk car, take your theoretical box area you measured and make a mockup out of cardboard and tape. Then you can verify it will fit through the opening. If it doesn't, you might need to shrink the box in a dimension that allows it to go through the opening. Plus this will help you visualize what the box will look like when installed.

      8” or 10” subs will do because those mazada 3 are hatchback open hatchback but if your car isn’t hatchback but is seal or folded seats go by the 12” subs. Got luck with the build. Just like truck with 2 door small subs like 6.5” subs will do since a regular has no room you could build a seal enclosure but if you have a 2 seats on truck you have space meaning you can use ported enclosures with 4 X 6.5 or 8” subs will do not 2 X 12” subs 🙄👍

    Do you build any upward facing boxes for car trunks?

    • @ceciljones1248
      @ceciljones1248 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Relating to your message you mean subwoofers facing up if so he will build your enclosure to where you can face the enclosure up forward or backwards?meaning you can have your port in the center facing up or your port to the side right or left with the two subwoofers on one side when I had my towncar I like my subwoofers on one side facing up and the port to the far right facing up I didn't like the license plate rattling facing backwards the subwoofers and port to the rear facing forward you would have to let the back seat down and seal it off

    Almost ALL tape measures show how long the measure itself is so you can use housing as part of measure. Usually the large tapes like you have are 3"

      @JasonWW2000 you can if you build it in the trunk

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jamessmith-eo9ll If you can build it, why order it? The conversation was about how to order a box. People that order a box need to know how to measure for it.
      Another thing is you don't ever want to build it in the trunk. That is obviously a bad idea.
