I built my own 6cuft box for two Sundown 12s and it beats cause I did 3 revisions. Built the final with birch and oak dowel bracing. It just beats cause I built it for those subs. Do your homework ppl
If you look close you can see rubber pads under the feet lifting the amp up. Plus it's screwed down near the box edges. Plus the port wall is directly under the amp, stiffening the box. Normally you don't want to bolt an amp to the box, but in this situation it looks okay. The only issue is maybe if the box is not held firmly to the vehicle. If the entire enclosure is vibrating, you definitely want to mount the amp somewhere else.
@@ssjdavid it doesn’t take much to ruin the internals of an amplifier by vibration. I understand you mount your Sony 1000 to your box but an expensive amp like this should be mounted on an amp rack

4.9 cubic ft total volume taking concideration the double baffle and thickness of wood. 29(26.75) 14 (12.5) 27(25.5) all numbers are the actual internal measurements.
@PoppaTinstall- Thats gross external cu. ft. The net internal= 3.34 Cu. Ft. So each 12" sundown subwoofer, is getting 1.67 cu. Ft. Net! Sundown recommends 2.5 cu. Ft. Net. This enclosure would be about the right Net cu. Ft., for 2- 10" X's, ZV5's, or ZV6's.

MB man, the audio not matching up with the video... Not sure what's causing that...
Run some quality ten inchers, mine SLAM!
Looking for subs that hit lows what brand is good it is going on 2011 Tahoe.
Which sundowns are those
Not the DD'S LOL
Bro!!! That box is NO WHERE near enough space plus the 4k!!
That Jag clean
It’s a OL’SCHOOL
JAGUAR👈 😎

Box way too small
I remember when I asked my local shop about a 8 to 9 cube box and they looked at me like I was crazy. One of them even said I don’t need that big of a box… I just walked out.
I have 2 xv3 15s in almost 20cube rn now 😂😂over 150 2200watts
‼️He could keep the Subz , build a good infinite Baffle and it’ll Bang Harder an Lower than any Box system
An still keep 80% of his trunk space
☝️😎‼️ bet ‼️
Now I’m wondering if my box is too small. I have 4 of those subs in a suburban.
Yikes....i got a salt8 on three x10s doing 152
Some shops shouldnt be shops but you also gotta do your homework as the customer. Some people just have more money than sense.
He got room for 2 sundown u-10s. 3 cubes. On that 4k would be perfect power too.
I bought 2 8's for my car cause I wanted trunk space yet to be able to put groceries back there or whatever. I got a box made to the specs man I have no trunk space now anyways. The Skar ZVX 8's require such a bigger box than most 8's it's 2.5cuft Net after displacements proper box tuned to 38hz damn thing is massive but I'll tell you what it's loud and get's down and sounds so good. A proper box is a must if not then your only cheating yourself.
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for, I’ve been designing a box and this video was my realization I need to make it bigger and tuned lower.
With some SPL speakers
I built my own 6cuft box for two Sundown 12s and it beats cause I did 3 revisions. Built the final with birch and oak dowel bracing. It just beats cause I built it for those subs. Do your homework ppl
SAD tO SEE tHE SIGNAtURE OF misogyny
Two 10s or 2-3 8s probably would’ve been better with that box.
please get that amp off the box without any sort of vibration padding underneath
Bro the whole car literally shakes you think if it’s on the box it’ll be any different? Crazy lol
@@ssjdavid it doesn’t take much to ruin the internals of an amplifier by vibration. I understand you mount your Sony 1000 to your box but an expensive amp like this should be mounted on an amp rack
Judging by the comments, lots of newbies and first timers in the chat
Invert the subs 😂
Wondering what sins and box I need for my 2006 chrysler 300c
The 300 has the same trunk size as the Charger and Challenger, you have enough room for 2 12s, but don't really need more than 2 8s or 10s. I'm running 2 Sundown 8s in a 2010 300C.
$1000 for a pre fab box 😂😂😂😂😂 the sundowns gonna tear that box apart 😂😂😂😂😂
Do your own research people. Find out what subs you really have
damn. I might need you to build me a box. Im buying an 07 Tahoe tomorrow and I have a sundown sa 12 v2 subwoofer in a prefab box sitting in storage with a rockford fosgate 1500 amp ready to go in tahoe
Get rid of the SA. You can go with one X in that Tahoe and be SLAMMING and still have plenty of space for groceries.
@@jasonsmith9161 getting that one x will have to wait. this tahoe needs lots of work. needs a new hood, new fenders, new dashboard, new weatherstripping, they sticker bombed all the windows so it needs to be retinted. they had this tahoe squatted at one point in its life. they left on half of the lowering kit so i had to order new lowering springs and shocks for the rear. the front has 2" drop spindles but still looks too high in the front. the seats need to be redone. the carpet is all stained. they drilled holes in the trim pieces on the dash. i did get a good deal on it tho. ima make it right
That box is about the right size for two Kicker Comp 10s
Dawg, you doing to much. You've already proved your point, just fix the shit for the man!
Wouldn’t inverting the subs help?
Not if he 1.5 cubes shy of recommended
Saw him selling them on market place, i would have copped if i didnt buy a pc recently 😭
I'm doing 146db in an MTX prefab sealed box😂
Yeah that box is way to small. They need like 3 to 4 cubic a piece
U real deal
You can't have shops doing your boxes. They don't do 200 percent effort into it like people who actually dedicate themselves to doing the actual boxes.
Would have been way better with one of the subs
Or add more power. Don’t need a huge box to get loud when you gonna push the subs 😂
The main thing they saying is get lowwwwww, not getting loud..that's why he said they not like us!!!
@@anthonywashington9731it broke the taillight out? Rear window seal all fucked up. I didn’t sell him the subs I built it around what he said he had. He also knew he didn’t have enough space. Also use to have 2 huge agm batteries in there and the amp was on the back of the box. Box also didn’t break he was unloading in an dropped it on the bolt terminals so doing a decent number with a broke side baffle. The edge never broke it cracked the board in the center.
@@boxd_up8362so you are the guy that messaged MBE ,that built that enclosure..he showed you where you was wrong..basically you got fact checked....you wad the 4th person the customer came too....just say no if it don't build something just cause u can.
I wanna see tony Baker do a mbe parody 😅

😂😂
I got 6.3cuft with those dims.
Thats gross. You have to subtract the port area, double baffle and subwoofer displacement to get net internal volume.
@@marcos-ut7mq- Then subtract 1.1 cu. Ft for the port, & .5 cu. Ft. for the 2-12" basket displacements. So 4.9- 1.6 cu. Ft.= 3.3 cu. Ft. Net.
