- I grew upon 70's TV shows.
I also love the Moon, from it's mystery, to the technology to travel there, and the sense of adventure.
Space 1999 was a cool TV adventure.
The Eagle is my second favourite sci-fi space vehicle.
Let me know what you like about sci-fi or the moon or space in general.
I hope you enjoy the Space: 1999 TV theme.

When I was a kid, no matter what room I was in, when I heard this theme tune....I'd be in front of the TV in seconds! Great job!
That's awesome, I love this show
Me too!!! 😂 awesome show!!
@@trench_runnerlove this video man, brilliantly done! 👌 hope you’re well!
@@planzed.2 Thank You... I am. Hope you're good too!!
Hearing this, I can literally see Eagles crashing. Lol!
The most original theme I've ever heard. Remember watch the show on TV as a kid.
And it has lyrics too! “It's been a long road, Getting from there to here, It's been a long time, But my time is finally near, And I can feel the change in the wind right now, Nothing's in my way, And they're not gonna hold me down no more, No, they're not gonna hold me down.”
❤
@@AdrianBoykoThat's, ummmmm, Star Trek Enterprise.
That song didn't exist in 1975.
@@dalethelander3781 Don’t ruin my fantasy
@@AdrianBoyko Whatever. 🙄
I get goose bumps! This theme is a masterpiece! Well done!
Thank You
This theme tune and music of season 1 would be the last time that composer Barry Gray would work with Gerry Anderson. End of an era.
Wow,belle et honestly performance!🤗
And why not!!! GREAT, Big Thanks..... Keep all of us old codgers in a constant state of nostalgia please.
Thank You... Great comment. I'll do my best!
The electric guitar is a nice touch to what was such an excellent theme to Space: 1999ks first season.
Thank You
Nice job, I was same with scrambling to the TV once that Space 1999 theme started. As iconic as In Search of with Nimoy, and the Dr Who theme from the Baker Era. Thank you for sharing that now I'm off to binge watch Space 1999.
Oh yeah... I love In Search Of... you dug a deep memory there for me, thanks. And Tom Baker was so cool!
What an unusual and fantastic choice!
One of the best intros in tv history!
Thank you
How absolutely fantastic 😍😍😍
Thank You
As someone who grew up in the decade the series was set, hearing this take on the film hits two different sets of nostalgia buttons 😂👌 .
(so many great series in the '90's had epic guitar solos 😌)
Marvellous minute of fun that made a real smile :o)
Thank You, great comment!
Very nice. I didnt know the theme song was made using the electric guitar
Thanks. The great thing about theme music that I love, is the combining of orchestra and rock elements, like Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds.
@@trench_runner I grew up with this drama. Can still remember the scary octopus monster and another one with aliens that look like a bushman. Only the captain can see the Bushman, the rest of the crew see them as normal humans
😂😂😂great job!
God, I so looked forward to this after school, early Friday evenings....
...Recently Rediscovered The Series ('70's Child Also). Seeing Someone Play The Season One Theme On An EVH 'Frankenstein' Has Me Almost In Tears In Laughter. Was Having a Totally Bad Day-Not Anymore-ThanXXX 4 That.
You're very welcome. Thank you for your great comment
Great job btw also…sounded awesome.
Thank You
Fantastic Guitar by Luke
I'm happy to listen to your excellent interpretation of the theme from Space:1999 on the electric guitar.
I think Barry Gray had a lot of fun including the electric guitar in the orchestra in 1974.
And today, so many years later, you enjoy playing this theme as I enjoy listening to your interpretation.
I think that the year one Space:1999 opening theme is the piece of music that I have listened to the most times in my life. In 1978 (?) I bought from USA the RCA LP record with the Space:1999 soundtrack.
Thank you from Italy, from a long life Space:1999 fan.
Thank You for your great comment
You are Great..!!! One of my favorite all time tv tune.

Fantastic. Now that's all I'll think about when I use my staple gun! 😂

@@trench_runner Yup! That was GREAT!!!😃👍💛💯💯💯💯💯
Great Cover Version
Well done M8!😎👍
Thank You
👏👏👏👏👏
Great theme
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I liked this version from Season 1, far better than Season 2. I wasn’t as interested once they changed the format so drastically. It was almost like two different shows with the same theme.
Yeah, I agree
Muy buena version!! Consejito: Hubiese quedado bastante mejor si la guitarra se escuchara un poco mas fuerte... Felicitaciones!
Wicked!
Frankenstrat... R.I.P. Eddie...🤓
Cool, Yes... Eddie is the King!
Britain's most versatile guitarist, Big Jim Sullivan, played the original guitar.

I watched it, that was great!
👍👍
How did you come across the Space 1999 theme - you look too young to have watched it!
Thanks, born in '69. I loved all of the tv and cinema space adventures growing up.
@trench_runner The years have treated you well then, you look younger than me, also born in 1969.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm from 1989 and yet *Space 1999* repeats were plentiful 🙂 .

Uao❤
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Well done....who was the actual gtr player?
Thanks. Great question, I had to google it. Vic Elmes was the guitarist.
@@trench_runner correct...."Elmes wrote the guitar parts for the first-season theme of the classic science fiction series Space:1999 (along with bass player John McCoy and Liam Genockey from the rock band Zzebra) produced and directed by Gerry Anderson, in collaboration with composer Barry Gray, who wrote the incidental music for the first season of the series."
@@incrediblestepsProdVic was Barry's nephew.
Vic couldn't read or write music, but he wanted to score an episode. Gerry gave him "Ring Around The Moon". Turned out, Vic was in over his head and the musicians who helped with the theme had to bail him out.
👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
why?.
Why not?
What REALLY sucked ass is when they changed the theme after season 1.
😏 Rumour has it that Moonbase Alpha was built on the site of the original SHADO Moonbase. Is this true?
