Nailed it! KISS fan since 1976 when I first saw them right when Destroyer came out. The Dynasty/Unmasked era is still my favorite period - you seem to capture Paul's resilience as a song writer perfectly. Great run !

I checked on this song as it sounds like Ace on leads and googling the song verifies it. But you read Wiki on the album it doesn't state who played on it.

Concept Albums are hit and miss. I liked a few of the songs on this album. I get it Gene and Paul got surprised and embarrassed. Made them work harder on Creatures. If "The Elder" worked I am not sure where Kiss would be today.

I always thought the drum sound on unmasked sounded different to Peter Criss and years later I find out it was Anton fig.

I keep coming back to this. Just love the flangey tone and nice work on the solo as well. This album is a top 10er of all time for me and as the end song, that transition into the acoustic and the trumpet over it? A thousand chef kisses perfect. Great version my man.

Maiden used guitar synths on their "Somewhere in time" album as well, but they didn`t like it when someone compared the album to Priest`s effort on "Turbo". *"We don`t make pop music"* , Bruce Dickonson was quoted saying in an interview with _Metal Hammer_ - as though that didn`t go without saying. 😕

Unmasked was my second ever vinyl got it back in 1980 when it came out.Dynasty was my first.This song,torpedo girl,two sides of the coin and Is that you were my favorites.Well done bro you crushed it.I became a huge kiss fan at 7 years old.Love the channel it brings me back to when I was a kid and the world was a way better place.We were blessed to grow up back then.

Paul was on fire here , damn i wish i could come jam with you, if only we werent on opposite sides of the equator. have you ever heard the band New England? if not look up their debut album which was produced by Paul Stanley and Mike Stone and they were managed by Bill Aucoin , they had a top 40 hit here in America called Don't Ever Wanna Lose Ya in May 1979 and another single called P.U.N.K. (Puny Undernourished Kid) that was absolute fire and reminiscent of Starz or Angel by way of T.Rex or Sweet, the entire album was honestly, they remind me of a mix of KISS, ELO and Queen as well, they made three albums in all but it was the self titled debut which i think stands the test of time best and still sounds fresh today , they opened for KISS on many dates of the Dynasty tour in 1979 the same year their debut album was released. and New England drummer Hirsh Gardner and keyboardist Jimmy Waldo went on to form the band Alcatrazz with Graham Bonnet in 1983 , sorry for writing a mini novel here i just love that album so much and mention it because of the bands connection to Paul Stanley and KISS, please never stop making these videos they are inspiring and show off just what an under rated kick ass record Unmasked is.
