Martin is the real deal of TH-cam creators , no smack, no drama just good flying content.

That was very worth while👍. Both of you are two of my most watched TH-camers!

I use that little diamond in HSI to fly "perfect" pattern rectangle on crosswinds

Excellent one-on-one with Martin. He is a very knowledgeable guy. With me about to start instrument training, these are some great tips. Thank you. Keep up the excellent work. Safe skies my friends 🇺🇸🛩️

    Excellent discussion.
Before the ground track pointer was matching TRK and DTK. I taught that to a long-time and experienced instrument pilot who never heard of it during an IPC and the hand flying improvement was immediate.

@7:24 I can't think of any exclusions on an aircraft insurance policy that would prohibit training in IMC. Unless something has changed, frankly I've never heard of that. If you can show an example or an actual exclusion to coverage, would be interesting. Rates charged shouldn't be different (or else they would have to reference that somewhere in the policy) Ahem...Dan..ask your sponsored insurance agent about that.

I have heard of it more at part 141 flight schools than at part 61. Something to do with how their ops specs are written

Great informative discussion.. I wasn't aware of GPS JAMMING. However, it shouldn't be superising. Being, from old school. I prefer, the conventional method of Navigation, when there was no such a thing, as GPS.

Makes a good point. Always have a backup plan. Keep your dead reckoning skills up to date also.

We do not rise to the occasion, we sink to the level of our recent recurrent training.

GPS Spoofing a a significant safety issue. We are detecting over one hundred spoofed flights a day, not just near the two major conflict areas. Moreover, it impacts more than navigation, it impacts eGPWS/TAWS, ADS-B, data links, and other systems. In some cases the HSI spins in Garmin systems! I have in cockpit footage, data, and more to share if you'd like.

In April, I wrote a short article on GPS Jamming/Spoofing for IFR Magazine. It should be in the June or July issue. I looked at your profile today and saw your videos on Air India. Will you also post more of your research there?

@@bobteter4300 Yes, an update is long overdue. Different attack types and impacts to different aircraft. I've submitted a session for AirVenture again this year and will be at ALPA Air Safety in the fall. By then we should have a live global detection system that we can look at.
