This game had the best Monster Island. I could totally see Earth’s Kaiju living on it.

I loved this game as a kid. I love how in this game the roster got bigger, challenges were added, and all the kaiju are different in their own way. Like in GDAMM, Godzilla 2000 just just a reskin of Godzilla 90s, nothing special about him really. Here, they are given different rage attacks and different attacks when picking up a kaiju and I love that. They're more diverse now
I always loved the characters flipping around when hit. It’s way more entertaining than Godzilla Destroy all monsters melee. When the characters spin around or flip around it kinda reminds me of Super Smash bros. Like when your damage is high enough you start spinning around. Still this was and still is a awesome game. I always loved how open the arenas were. You can run around to pick up buildings to hit the monster or use them as a shield from beam attacks. Or throw a monster at something. Lol this game is such a good sequel. We need a remastered with more monsters that were in Unleashed.

@Woodrow Pride but the controls make the game damn near unplayable, even when configured on an xbox 360 controller.
@NIP I take that back, the game is much easier and way more fun to play when played on a 360 controller. But the Wii motion controls are horrendous and were a terrible idea for a fighting game...

The underwater challenge is definitely inspired by Godzilla Generations: Maximum Impact.

4:49 one of my favorite shots from anything Godzilla related, is seeing the monsters from a watchers perspective. For this one it’s watching Gigan and Ghidorah from inside the ship, in movies you get to see Godzilla from a bystander in a building

I have both versions of this game. I just got my PS2 working again and found my disc. But after I tried it, it never got past the loading screen. I took out the disc and it was scratched, a lot. I'm glad this is here so I can see a fresh start after 2 years without it.
I see why they chose Space Godzilla as the true final opponent. Because he is based of Godzilla with his DNA making him the Ultimate Monster.

I would've picked hard, since you would've been able to see the true ending with SpaceGodzilla, but that's just me. Also, do you know what happens if you beat the game as SpaceGodzilla on hard mode? It would be strange to see him lose if you won in the game.

Agreed! Currently, there's a fan-made "Overhaul" project in the works for the PS2 version of the game, but I'd still love to see this and the other 2 games in this series see a rerelease at some point.

Well I said my peace about Unleashed (both versions), might as well work my way backwards(?) and give my opinion on the other two games.
Now *this* game is just... *mmmm* ...I kiss my fingers like it's a fine spaghetti. This is probably my favorite Godzilla game of all time, probably my favorite 3D fighter of all time as well (Sorry, Tekken). The controls are near perfection. The roster is varied and even the "clones" (G90's and Kiryu) have drastic differences to their base characters. Barely a story, sure, but the game was made to be fun first, and that's okay. I don't really get the criticisms towards the mini games, personally...only one off the top of the dome that I can think of that I don't find enjoyable is the dumb Basketball one. Plus you got your *fantastic* ones like the two rail shooter minigames and the one where you fight all 3 of Orga's forms! Only *real* gripes I can give it is that the game *kinda* gets boring if ya play it for too long, as you can only fight over and over for so long before you'll want to do something else...but that's pretty much it. Way to celebrate the 50th anniversary! Now if only the 60th anniversary game was as good...ah well.
Quick note: I actually never owned the Xbox version of STE. I've only played the PS2 version. Only difference I'm seeing is less muddy textures on the monsters and the fact that LA has power lines you can destroy. Sure, it technically makes the Xbox version superior in a way, but not a big enough difference to warrant me buying an OG Xbox just to play a version of the game I already own. Now...if Xbox One backwards compatibility threw us Goji fans a bone, on the other hand....

@SuperMarioFan 3001 They could've went how MK Deception did it. Due to no online, you can have 4 extra monsters for gamecube. You can think how that could've went. But I would've gone with this.

What do the green capsules do?
They're G-cell... things. They restore a little of your HP, and give you extra points to add to your score. Helpful for purchasing things in the game like monsters, locations, and gallery items.

I know this is an old video but what is the difference between Godzilla 2000 and Godzilla 90s in this game in terms of stats?
Actually, yes! Both Godzillas have the same attack and defense stats, but their speed and weapon stats are swapped; Godzilla 90's is slightly slower with a better weapon stat, while Godzilla 2000 is slightly faster but with a weaker weapon stat.

Simply play Action mode on Hard difficulty. He acts as the final boss.
