Yeah… certain monsters are much harder than others, and that’s for a reason. Anguirus is designed to get a feel of the game and know the controls. Megalon is where they up the AI considerably to the point that it’s obvious, as there are certain attacks and other things the AI won’t fall for and will start exploiting. Rodan can be very aggregating and annoying because of his flying which puts him above some chars as he has an advantage. Destoroyah is where things get pretty damn hard. The game really shows you that he’s not supposed to be taken head on because of his high damage output, larger health and the fact he’s very aggressive. If you approach him head on he will kill you more often than not. MGK can be ridiculously hard. And of course, depending on who you face, MG2 and Kiryu are literal nightmares. Orga is the toughest AI in the entire game.
It's odd that that this game has best representation of the heisei Godzilla when comparing it to its successors, also is it me or is Mechagodzilla easier in this version? Because it sure looks that way.
Mechagodzilla still feels the same, I just know how to deal with him after playing him in the Gamecube version ;) Actually, it feels like all the other monster AI has improved, Rodan's pretty ruthless.
Not gonna lie, I fucking hated fighting MechaGodzilla II when I first started playing Destroy All Monsters Melee. I was like around 5 at the time, and this guy forced me to get good. Or rather, git gud.
Well, the Xbox version has a lot more detailed textures then I remembered, however I don't know if that's a good thing. It kind of "sticks out" and distracts me from the fights.
To me, the most distracting thing are the stages themselves; the monsters popping out helps make them visible, especially in 4-player matches. But the stages seem more saturated than the GCN versions.
My friends and I used to pummel each other then go wreck the city then go back to fighting haha I wish there would be a remaster or something because I’d rather play this than Gigabash
As noted, the graphics were improved, has new stages (Boxing Ring, Vortaak homeworld stage, and Thrashburg DLC stage), addition of Kiryu, 1-player Destruction mode, ability to fight CPUs in things like Team Battles, and various bug fixes... I think they fixed the Anguirus roar playing on Rodan bug.
