While there are many interesting upgrades; Bloom, Ambient occlusion, screen space reflections, and shadows, (things I use constantly) are all removed from render settings... The bloom in the compositor is inferior IMO... I have to work with it a while before I can judge better.
@@Max_Cypher Mmmmmmm, not really. AO and SSR are under Raytracing now. Literally the first dropdown is Method: Screen - Trace. You then set the resolution, max roughness, precision, and thickness, most of which is pretty similar to Eevee legacy. AO can be found under Fast GI Approximation Method, though you're best off largely sticking with global illumination. Again, most of the settings are still there, plus some new ones. Shadows are found under Sampling, except for the memory allocation, which is under Performance > Memory. Bloom has been moved into the compositor, yeah, which is where it always should have been, since it's a post-processing effect. Could certainly use some love, though, admittedly, which should come in 4.3, now that the GPU compositor as a whole has been moved out of experimental.
This update completely broke refraction. No matter what you do, it appears blurry by default as if in previous updates, you would've combined two refraction shaders together with mix node and put the mix value at .5.
I had submitted some ideas for an external app to blendermarket and they replied with great response and hinted at a tool to manage your downloads. I was suggesting something like AEscripts at the time but with the release of 4.2 here my guess is that they'll be offering it as a repository vs a software/plugin manager. Hoping to see something soon either way - I love blender market but keeping up to date or finding past downloads would be a great for an app for that ;p
my EVEE already looks amazing ( yes ..with some light tweeking it's pretty nice ) . also my BUMPED textures look really sattisfying...therefore I DON'T NEED DISPLACEMENT ( more unnecessarry geometry ) in EVEE. but still i'm curious and excited about 4.2.....i'll jump into it just to take a look
Justin, I am a contractor and make my projects in blender. I send my clients a video of the project and everything used to be sharp and clean looking. Can you make a video about the settings of the new Eevee. Basically I want it to look as close as possible like it did in 4.1. The 3d viewport is fuzzy. Things just don't look the same. If I disable raytracing it looks worse. Please help
hi sir please help me I am facing problem in using GIS master add on in blender 4.1 is saying this python traceback (most recent call ) and Long paragraph con you please Fix it sir 🙏
The thing is they keep changing where all the icons and settings are such that when you follow a tutorial in 1-2 years time many things are in different places or do different things. It's difficult enough to use without this. I wish they would write the manuals in lay terms (not like I am a maths expert) and also blender based tutorials that you can pay for, or are obligated to pay for in using the software. It is painful to work out what does what sometimes, I'm agonising with fluid sims at the moment and I'm loosing the will. How the hell do forcefields actually work and applying tutorials to my project and rendering each bake which takes a minute or two after tweaking settings (not knowing what they do but guessing), is agonising. They need to charge people. I would happily pay £10 a month to use this software if it was improved for the end user.
Version 4.2 is still buggy for me. Blender stops working when switching to eevee. No program closure report. Updating the drivers didn't help. Wrote to technical support. In general, I noticed that there are many similar reports in tasks. There are also many other bugs associated with the new engine. Hope they fix it soon.
many write about this problem after the release of 4.2, the same thing happens on many integrated video cards, on some video cards there are other problems - with the display of shaders, but this will be fixed) but people are worried whether blender will continue to work on integrated video cards or will become so demanding hardware that will become inaccessible to the average user

Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about the new version of Blender in the comments below! :)
Its cool please can you help me with a laptop to start learning blender please i cant afford one thank you ❤

@@Arjjacks Thanks for the detailed response 👍
new here, I try to sub divide a plane in the context menu and is not there any clue bro.
I can't wait to learn blender fully so i can start making money and begin donating to the community
No time like the present!
You don’t need to learn it fully, learning blender never stops, you’ll learn per project
We donate by paying taxes
@@innocentmmeto That's true. Let me get to work. Thanks
Keep that attitude and you’ll have an extraordinary life, take it from an old geyser.
Thanks for doing this. I haven't used Blender for a few years and I was curious about how it has improved.
Awesome Thanks bro! Love your channel always helpful!
Happy to help!

Nice and clear, Justin. thanks
Thanks for the summary

I'd be interested to see what they come up with - I do like the integration of the extensions, but I wonder how that would work with paid add-ons
My viewport in blender has been all messed up since 4.1. I'm still using 4.0.
Where is EXTRA CURVE add on in the new version? - especially Spirofit curve

how is this displacement not the same as the old one?
It still relies on dense geometry.

Like as in it crashed, or as in it took a long time to compile shaders and froze up?
