i bought this addon few days ago and i was having problems extruding a square made of 4 distinct building blocks. selecting two-point vertices and pressing "f" solved that problem. thanks to your video i was able to make it work. thanks
Seems like every city building generator always mainly has like a 1950s NYC apartment building look which really limits the usecases. If this could generate modern looking apartment buildings, like the larger window type and lots of glass with a flat/plain colour facade instead of bricks then that would be awesome. Maybe theres a way to do it but no videos show anything other than the old apartment block style type buildings and I don't want to spend loads of money checking myself. I'd get it instantly if theres an easy way for it to generate modern looking apartment buildings
It does not work when I click start - it only creates a square with nothing on it after 20 seconds of pressing start. I am using HP Pavilion 15, is it too slow?
Thanks for the video. I find this addon super cool, lots of interesting parameters to have fun creating cities. However, I'm wondering if it's possible to set the number of floors for buildings, and also give a parameter for the surface area of the building? I'm a 3D modeler in the urban planning sector and I'm looking for an addon that would allow me to parameterize these elements (floors, surfaces, building shape, etc.).
Currently no, nothing like that. That would be a very different tool in my opinion - I've seen tools like this from Autodesk (Forma), and SketchUp (Modelur), but nothing really specific like this to Blender
Not had a chance to watch your video yet (in my saved to watch later) ☺️ but I bought this one and it’s awesome 👌👍 not perfect, but it’s version 1.0 so sure improvements and updates to come. But as it is I really like it 💯👍
WOW!! I so need that in Unreal Engine. Does anyone know of an equivalent? I could generate in Blender and bring to Unreal, but I assume it could be a hassle.
Looks very promising but the inability to add custom buildings might be a deal breaker for someone. If you want to build assets for a racing game then this addon would be perfectly fine, but if you want to build levels for an FPS game where you can enter buildings and explore stuff and hide, then this addon needs more work. Definitely interesting though.
Definitely a fair comment, though I would say it's unlikely you'd be using something like this for an FPS shooter anyway as I think those levels are a little more custom. That said, customization of the buildings more would be a great step!
i would like to look on free alternatives to this tool, maybe with less functionality, but for small projects or backgrounds such advancements is overkill. Still thanks for video.
I just purchased it this week, and for some reason.. a number of my assets such as park benches and trees etc. (I can see textures and services) are not visible. only big letters saying Custom Assets (they are available if i click assign, but I don't know what I am assigning since I can see a visual reference for the assets) . I am using Blender 4.2 and I also tried it in Blender 4.1. Im using a Mac Mini M1. I have also installed and unistalled a number of times, but still the same problem. Any one have any thoughts on this ?
love the idea of city scenes for some superpower/reverae isekai animations hate building cities, I think buildings are my least favorite part of 3d modeling might have to buy this one
At the moment custom models aren't officially supported. Theoretically you might be able to put them in the collections, but it's not really built for that at the moment
Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about ICity in the comments below! :)

Fair comment and I'm hoping this add-on is successful enough that the developer can keep adding things like this.
CityGen lets you use
your own building assets

Looks like a great addition - thanks for bringing it to my attention!

can I export the city into Unity or Unreal???
yes
I've installed but only have a road when it loads. No buildings inside it. Do you know what I'm missing here
Thanks for the video! What gpu + ram + cpu do I need to run this addon smoothly? RTX3060 + 32GB + i7-11700KF will crash...
Wow sick thanks Justin. This looks dope!
Glad you like it!

phantastic Tool but is it possible to Export the Citys ?

Needs a LOD by camera distance maybe.
I don't know why but when I use this only roads show up, no buildings.
Is it possible to export the city into Unreal in any way? Like baking everything into models, then export?
I think anything you can convert into a mesh is possible to export for games

can you bake your result?
Ooh no the render though.
use render farm
No one has yet answered if this works in Evee?
So could I use the Manhattan Kitbash set with this add-on?

That would be great!
Show me hires renders
56,25 Yes I buy but it's finish.
Its cool, but not really usable for nothing. Waste of money for 99% of people.
Theres a better and cheaper one by cinematic cookie
