Balerion would have survuved longer had he not been kept chained in the dragon pit for 40 or so years. He didn’t get to fly and eat as he wanted and without the freedom to roam - but still keeping on growing - he couldn’t support his own weight anymore.

True, and he seemed to get along with his nephews more than his brother and sister, and during training you can see whose teaching him criston who hates rhaenyra and her kids, he gets perks and less responsibly, I do wish we’d seen rhaenyra and aegon interact, also feel if she interacted more with her brothers, things could have been more different between them

They are much lower in strength. Aemond has military training and Rhaena/Baela are highborn maidens. Criston was focusing training on Aegon and Aemond primarily, so Jace and Luke don't have the strength or ability of Aemond. You could see him bobbing and weaving during the fight, skillfully evading most of what the group was throwing at him. He was never really in danger and never displayed any fear either; Aemond didn't "have" to do anything of the sort.
viserys is a man that truly believes if you ignore your problems then they will go away. he did so with the crab feeder, with daemon, and now with the legitimacy of the royal lineage.

It appears that folks that watch it on some TV screens with the normal settings (usually not optimized) have problems. I watched it on my computer and had zero issues.I also had no issues watching the long night. I’m internally screaming turn up the brightness lollll. Pause the thing and stop suffering
Reactors have issues because they have all the lights on with additional ring lights facing then making it harder for them to see the darker scene, than for us at home who probably had our lights off or at least not as many lights on.
Fundamentally once the Dragon is large enough it's the dragon's decision to travel and fly with whom they want. They are apex predators above even humans. Hell, I suspect the farmers of Pentos are thrilled they don't need to sacrifice entire herds of cattle to feed Vhagar anymore.

I like that aemond scene was at night, while everyone else sleeping on the comfort of their bed, he was struggling for his life and glory on a dragon saddle. No one there to cheer him up when he succeed, or to help if it went wrong. Just himself. Now imagine it end like eps 3, when rhaenyra return to the camp and everybody watching her, but now instead with a boar, aemond return to the crowd on vhagar's back.

There's actually a theory that Daenerys' eggs were the three eggs stolen from Rhaena Targaryen by her lover Elissa Farman around 70 or so years before House of the Dragon. They were sold off to the Sealord of Braavos and effectively disappeared from history from then on. Dany's eggs are stated to be "fossils" by the time she gets them, and she's the only one who sees them as anything more than just cool rocks before they hatch. So if that were true then Dreamfyre, the dragon ridden by Helaena(the daughter of Viserys and Alicent), would be the ancestor of Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal.

Green conflict in her Targaryen family! So Helaena predictions are coming true. 😉
No one talks about Aemond taking the dragon because he did nothing wrong, he was in his right to claim Vhagar and the dragon choses the rider, not the other way around, meaning she can't be stole. She made her decision, since she isn't supposed to go with the kids of her past rider (if that would have been the case then Laena wouldn't have been her rider), but to anyone who claims her and she finds worthy.

Alicent and the Greens have a lot of problems but seems the criticism is one way. Not saying it's nice what Alicent did but Alicent demanding an eye for an eye would probably be normal protocol in a pseudo-medieval setting like this. We saw this in episode 1 with Daemond delivering "justice" to criminals. Also, parents act irrational when something happens to their kids. Many people judging Alicent for that would likely act the similar in a medieval setting Also, why are we skirting over the fact that Rhaenyra is trying to pass illegitimate kids as heirs to the iron throne?

King Viserys very clearly cared more about protecing his daughter's children's true idenity that he did about his own son's terrible injury. If I am in Alicent's shoes I would've lost it a lot more.

The brother's synchronization and quick thinking was amazing, and Aegon's response was brilliant, he not only says the obvious, because everyone knows that Rhaenyra kids are bastard, they just don't admit it, but his answer also turns the tables, because he embarrasses Rhaenyra and make everyone turn their eyes in embarrassment for her, you can see in her face. Rhaenyra tried to frame Alicent and have her executed, but the brothers turned the table. It's an incredible scene, because if they hadn't read the room, think fast and given the right answer, they were going to have their mother executed or one of them punished. Aemond was silent and read the room, then he says it was his brother, because Aegon is the only one besides him who would stay on his mother's side, and his brother is an irresponsible who just wants to drink and have sex, it could come off as gibberish said by a drunkard, no one would take it seriously. But still, he should be questioned, and if given the wrong answer, he'd screw up Aemon's play. Aegon and Aemond were amazing in how they acted. And Aemond's answer at the end was the final blow, the people where divided and fighting among themselves, forgetting the reason why all that was happening: The fact that Aemond had conquered the most powerful dragon in the kingdom, and when he brings it to light again, everyone looked scared, Rhaenyra herself is in shock, because everyone there realized the military power that Alicent and her lineage have in their hands, putting everyone in submission.
👌👌👌 some people are really failing to see the complexities of these last few episodes. They are expecting clear and cut heroes and to cheer for, meanwhile if it continues to be like this and with the source material there shouldn’t be any of the main players worth cheering for.
The show also brushes past Rhaenyra saying Aemond should be "sharply questioned" which in Westerosi terms means tortured for information, so the situation here was TENSE and Aemond knew exactly what he stood up against.

Just pointing this out, riders don't really claim dragons. It's the dragons who accept riders. It's not like he forced Vhagar to be his mount. Kinda grimy for it to happen the day of Laenas funeral, but there's no real bureaucracy or standard for who get what dragon once it's available. It might seem crazy that Alicent didn't get executed for hurting the heir but I think people's view on the medieval political system is warped because of terrible kings in past GoT content like Jeoffrey, Cersei, etc who would just chop heads off willy nilly. Remember Viserys is a good man but a weak king, most people in that room could understand a mother acting rashly in the defense of her child but killing your queen would still seem out of pocket with most of the court. It would also fracture the 7 kingdoms by alienating a powerful house in the Hightowers and remember Viserys is all about keeping the kingdom together because of Aegon's prophecy.

You cant steal dragons even if they are untamed - the dragon doesnt get passed on, they choose the rider if the rider is fit. Aemond was right, she should've tried her hand with Vaegar first but she didnt. Vaegar recognised Aemonds bravery and chose him. From her point of view though, she's grown up with Vaegar her entire life knowing that she belonged to her mother and hoped she would one day bond with Vaegar. Rhaenyra and Daemon did a good job of making people think that they would do something like that as a warning to their enemies so I’ll give them that. Other than that I was on Alicent’s side this episode, I love her lmao. Aemond was an opportunist in this episode but I was cheering for him claiming Vhagar. I also feel bad for Rhaena, Baela, Jace, and Luke. They’re mourning their parents. The last scene of Daemon and Rhaenyra getting married made me feel for them because the girls are mourning their mother and the loss of Vhagar while the boys are mourning two fathers. Hopefully they at least tell the boys about Laenor but then again idk if they told Rhaenys and Corlys either. They said their side will know the truth, I assume they mean the blacks.

He instigated it by insulting baela about her dead mother on the day of her funeral.. aemond's attitude clearly changed after gaining vhagar and was such an asshole on that scene.. but to be fair with aemond, he only fought back and reciprocate what was thrown at him, he even shown mercy when he got the upperhand

You cannot steal a Dragon. They are not something you can own or fully control. They're a mythical creature that will casually eat you or roast you alive if they don't like you. Aemond didn't choose Vaegar, Vaegar chose him. And he was right, if the sisters wanted him, they had their chance. Aemond was the victim here, not them.

Episode thoughts: God, you could cut the tension during that family intervention scene with a knife! And it wrapped up poetically with the lines being clearly drawn between Rhaenyra's faction and Alicent's faction. It won't be long now... Also crazy seeing Aemon grow a backbone now that he rides Vhagar. I've seen some people who are surprised he acted the way he did now and I'm like, the dude was disrespected most of his life and now he has the largest, oldest and most powerful dragon on his side, of course he'd start being more aggressive! Lastly, it was interesting seeing Rhaenyra orchestrate Leanor's "death." Like I had a feeling she wasn't going to actually have him assassinated because even htough she wants him out of the picture, killing him wouldn't be her style so it was clever of her to make everyone think he's dead while he gets to run off with his man.
Creates a dangerous game though. Even if you actually aren't that cruel you are purposefully creating that image in the minds of your enemy. She wants them to think of her as cruel. However, what happens when her enemy is actually willing to go that far in order to stop her? She then either has to stoop to that level in order to survive or die.

There is a connection between size and age. The dragons are like...lobsters. They never stop growing so long as they have free range and can get food. Vhagar is an old, old, dragon. She was flown by Visenya during the conquest a century ago. She's 170+ in the show. Balerion died at over 200 years of age, too big to fly and live.
Balerion would have survuved longer had he not been kept chained in the dragon pit for 40 or so years. He didn’t get to fly and eat as he wanted and without the freedom to roam - but still keeping on growing - he couldn’t support his own weight anymore.

They are much lower in strength. Aemond has military training and Rhaena/Baela are highborn maidens. Criston was focusing training on Aegon and Aemond primarily, so Jace and Luke don't have the strength or ability of Aemond. You could see him bobbing and weaving during the fight, skillfully evading most of what the group was throwing at him. He was never really in danger and never displayed any fear either; Aemond didn't "have" to do anything of the sort.

Reactors have issues because they have all the lights on with additional ring lights facing then making it harder for them to see the darker scene, than for us at home who probably had our lights off or at least not as many lights on.

I like that aemond scene was at night, while everyone else sleeping on the comfort of their bed, he was struggling for his life and glory on a dragon saddle.
No one there to cheer him up when he succeed, or to help if it went wrong. Just himself.
Now imagine it end like eps 3, when rhaenyra return to the camp and everybody watching her, but now instead with a boar, aemond return to the crowd on vhagar's back.

BTW Vhagar is female. She is the grandmother of both Daemon and Raenera's dragons and presumably Daenerys' trio from Game of Thrones as well.
There's actually a theory that Daenerys' eggs were the three eggs stolen from Rhaena Targaryen by her lover Elissa Farman around 70 or so years before House of the Dragon. They were sold off to the Sealord of Braavos and effectively disappeared from history from then on. Dany's eggs are stated to be "fossils" by the time she gets them, and she's the only one who sees them as anything more than just cool rocks before they hatch. So if that were true then Dreamfyre, the dragon ridden by Helaena(the daughter of Viserys and Alicent), would be the ancestor of Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal.

Green conflict in her Targaryen family! So Helaena predictions are coming true. 😉
No one talks about Aemond taking the dragon because he did nothing wrong, he was in his right to claim Vhagar and the dragon choses the rider, not the other way around, meaning she can't be stole. She made her decision, since she isn't supposed to go with the kids of her past rider (if that would have been the case then Laena wouldn't have been her rider), but to anyone who claims her and she finds worthy.

We saw this in episode 1 with Daemond delivering "justice" to criminals. Also, parents act irrational when something happens to their kids. Many people judging Alicent for that would likely act the similar in a medieval setting

The brother's synchronization and quick thinking was amazing, and Aegon's response was brilliant, he not only says the obvious, because everyone knows that Rhaenyra kids are bastard, they just don't admit it, but his answer also turns the tables, because he embarrasses Rhaenyra and make everyone turn their eyes in embarrassment for her, you can see in her face. Rhaenyra tried to frame Alicent and have her executed, but the brothers turned the table.
It's an incredible scene, because if they hadn't read the room, think fast and given the right answer, they were going to have their mother executed or one of them punished. Aemond was silent and read the room, then he says it was his brother, because Aegon is the only one besides him who would stay on his mother's side, and his brother is an irresponsible who just wants to drink and have sex, it could come off as gibberish said by a drunkard, no one would take it seriously. But still, he should be questioned, and if given the wrong answer, he'd screw up Aemon's play. Aegon and Aemond were amazing in how they acted.
And Aemond's answer at the end was the final blow, the people where divided and fighting among themselves, forgetting the reason why all that was happening: The fact that Aemond had conquered the most powerful dragon in the kingdom, and when he brings it to light again, everyone looked scared, Rhaenyra herself is in shock, because everyone there realized the military power that Alicent and her lineage have in their hands, putting everyone in submission.
👌👌👌 some people are really failing to see the complexities of these last few episodes. They are expecting clear and cut heroes and to cheer for, meanwhile if it continues to be like this and with the source material there shouldn’t be any of the main players worth cheering for.
The show also brushes past Rhaenyra saying Aemond should be "sharply questioned" which in Westerosi terms means tortured for information, so the situation here was TENSE and Aemond knew exactly what he stood up against.

Just pointing this out, riders don't really claim dragons. It's the dragons who accept riders. It's not like he forced Vhagar to be his mount. Kinda grimy for it to happen the day of Laenas funeral, but there's no real bureaucracy or standard for who get what dragon once it's available. It's basically a free-for-all everytime a dragonrider dies and a dragons up for grabs.

Aemond didn’t steal the dragon vhagar chose him
It might seem crazy that Alicent didn't get executed for hurting the heir but I think people's view on the medieval political system is warped because of terrible kings in past GoT content like Jeoffrey, Cersei, etc who would just chop heads off willy nilly. Remember Viserys is a good man but a weak king, most people in that room could understand a mother acting rashly in the defense of her child but killing your queen would still seem out of pocket with most of the court. It would also fracture the 7 kingdoms by alienating a powerful house in the Hightowers and remember Viserys is all about keeping the kingdom together because of Aegon's prophecy.
Killing Alicent would've also basically ensured that the greens won, cause most of the major houses would've turned on the blacks in an instant.
That isn't defense. She was trying to maim her nephew. The Hightowers aren't that powerful a house. The King should have locked her up.

You cant steal dragons even if they are untamed - the dragon doesnt get passed on, they choose the rider if the rider is fit. Aemond was right, she should've tried her hand with Vaegar first but she didnt. Vaegar recognised Aemonds bravery and chose him. From her point of view though, she's grown up with Vaegar her entire life knowing that she belonged to her mother and hoped she would one day bond with Vaegar. It would hurt to see a piece of your mothers memory bond with another.

Rhaenyra and Daemon did a good job of making people think that they would do something like that as a warning to their enemies so I’ll give them that. Other than that I was on Alicent’s side this episode, I love her lmao. Aemond was an opportunist in this episode but I was cheering for him claiming Vhagar. I also feel bad for Rhaena, Baela, Jace, and Luke. They’re mourning their parents. The last scene of Daemon and Rhaenyra getting married made me feel for them because the girls are mourning their mother and the loss of Vhagar while the boys are mourning two fathers. Hopefully they at least tell the boys about Laenor but then again idk if they told Rhaenys and Corlys either. They said their side will know the truth, I assume they mean the blacks.

Ameond did not steal the dragon. Vhagar's rider was dead which means anybody can claim it. You can't even steal a dragon because It only lets it's owner ride it. Which aemond is now. God, you could cut the tension during that family intervention scene with a knife! And it wrapped up poetically with the lines being clearly drawn between Rhaenyra's faction and Alicent's faction. It won't be long now...
Also crazy seeing Aemon grow a backbone now that he rides Vhagar. I've seen some people who are surprised he acted the way he did now and I'm like, the dude was disrespected most of his life and now he has the largest, oldest and most powerful dragon on his side, of course he'd start being more aggressive!
Lastly, it was interesting seeing Rhaenyra orchestrate Leanor's "death." Like I had a feeling she wasn't going to actually have him assassinated because even htough she wants him out of the picture, killing him wouldn't be her style so it was clever of her to make everyone think he's dead while he gets to run off with his man.
Creates a dangerous game though. Even if you actually aren't that cruel you are purposefully creating that image in the minds of your enemy. She wants them to think of her as cruel. However, what happens when her enemy is actually willing to go that far in order to stop her? She then either has to stoop to that level in order to survive or die.
