Hi William . Wow . What a beautiful colors in this beautiful hanging basket . The view of these pretty perennials are going to be stunning . Have a wonderful day .🌻
Hello there! Thanks so much for stopping by to comment and watch. How are things going in the garden where you are? Glad you liked the video. Happy Gardening! 🪴🪴
@@williamsgardening It's going great thanks! Weather here is a bit strange, one day heatwave, then next we're getting out the woolly jumpers! I'll be putting a tour of my garden on my channel soon... well hopefully... I've recorded it but it's hard to find the time to edit when there's so much to do outside! Anyway, that'll be on at some point if you'd like to see what gardening is like here. Bye for now and happy gardening too!
Thank you so much. Great question. Yes, the verbena and the petunias would do great as a ground cover in mass plantings as they do spread quite well. The supercells (calibrachoa) doesn't really do well when planted in the ground. So both the purple varieties from the video will do well. :) 🪴🪴🪴
Love your videos but I do think that P Ws recipes have you cramming too many plants in a container. This results in a lot of maintenance with watering and feeding not to mention the expense of the plants. It would be interesting to see a comparison basket made with fewer plants. I’m in the UK and it’s practically impossible to get P W annuals I’m sooooooo envious of your sparkling amethyst verbena 😍😍😍😍😍
Oh. Oh. I got some proven winners this year. ☘️ i think Kernock park plants supply them to garden centres. Pergola nurserys in Cavan had them. I got paradise vista. I missed out on bubblegum. But they are gradually making their way over this side of the pond !! 😂🥰
Thanks you so much Janet. You make a great point. :) Yes. I should do a video showing the difference. In fact, I usually plant only about three plants per hanging basket, but to stay true to the recipe, I figured it would be interesting to see how it all pans out. I will surely give updates. :) So glad we have you as a friend from across the pond! Have a wonderful day.
That's a great question and I must agree. On the seldom occasion that I do see them at our local retailer, they often are spindly and seem like they need attention. When they come in the mail they actually look pretty good, but with everything I plant, I usually take care of them for a bit in their original cans. I keep them watered and feed them every 3rd watering with water soluble fertilizer. It really does the trick and they end up nice and full by the time I plant them out. Thanks so much for visiting and have a great day.
Yes, I’ve seen ones that are made for side inserts, however there is no need to plant these annuals that way because they will trail over the sides up to 3 1/2 feet. Kinsman also has the baskets you’re speaking of. Pretty cool.
So beautiful 💪
Thank you Sir! 🙌
Beautiful hanging basket of flowers, Its the bees knees.
Thanks a bunch! It was fun putting that together! Have a great day! 🪴

What is that gorgeous yellow flower behind you?
Thanks so much. That's our "Sun Flare" floribunda rose. I know, I love that thing. It never disappoints!
Enjoy your energy. Would these plants work as ‘ground cover’ in northern CA Zone 9B. Thanks.

Could you tell me where you get those baskets that hang
Absolutely. I ordered them from Kinsman Gardening Supply. Here's the link: www.kinsmangarden.com/product/London-Basket-And-Liner-Set-With-Hanger-14
How long do you run your drip each day? Or every other day?
I run drip each morning for 5 min during the spring... In the summer I may bump it up to 10 depending on the heat.

Yes honestly I'd do one of each of those plants and that even might be too much lol they grow so big !

@@williamsgardening looking forward to your updates 👍
When do you find proven winners that full?? I always pass on them because they look so spindly

Wire hanging baskets have plants inserted through the sides, not all on the top
