Yeah cause Portugal were amazing against Slovenia and Germany were amazing against Denmark right? And the Swiss have done what? Beaten Italy. Big deal. We beat them home and away in qualifying.
OK. England are the favourites on paper but Switzerland will win because they're a better team unit but they can only win if they're the underdogs, but because they're favoured to win they won't feel like they're the underdogs so they won't win. Got it.
It’s amazing to me how boring and shocking England have been at the EUROs, yet they’re still in the tournament thanks to the fact that they’ve managed to pick up points and were in a weak group where none of the other teams were able to win and they were so lucky to beat Slovakia on Sunday because in the 94th minute without Jude Bellingham’s incredible bicycle kick, they would’ve lost that game. I don’t know how a team with a lot of talent on paper look so dysfunctional and unorganized and it’s obvious that at the end of the day it’s all about coaching as it takes more than just talent to win major tournaments because this isn’t FIFA, you can’t have the best 11 players on the pitch without any tactics. It’s all about having the right players and profile not playing players because of their ability even though their profile doesn’t fit the team. Tbry have an easier path to the final, it won’t be as straightforward as people think it is because on the other side of the bracket you’re gonna have to go up against either France Portugal Spain or Germany in the final and those teams can all beat them easily. They have the same old problems over and over again and I wonder if Gareth Southgate is going to learn this time around because consistently making the same mistakes and then having to rely on moments of individual brilliance to bail you out, yes that works in a major tournament when you play against weak opposition and you actually made proper substitutions for once I’ll give him credit for that as it was enough for them to get the job done in a game they should’ve lost, but again it’s not always sustainable and it seems like their manager is a dead man walking. He is so confusing and it’s absolutely beyond me because you know that there are some things in the team that isn’t working out, why is he always leaving the starting lineup unchanged and then making 1 chance, it’s a sign that he still doesn’t know what his best starting XI is. You know that Phil Foden isn’t a left winger, why does he keep playing him there because he has to drift centrally to occupy the same spaces in which Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane take up meaning that you don’t have a fullback overlapping him as Kieran Trippier isn’t a left back (hopefully Luke Shaw should be able to play), and the left side is isolated as majority of their attacks come from the right. Maybe Bukayo Saka needs to play as a left back and they should switch to a back 3 which is something they used in the past even though it won’t happen. Going into their game against Switzerland, England should be the favorites to win, they’re going up against a team that isn’t as talented than them on paper, but have played much better and they look more cohesive and well oriented than them and assuming they show up and Southgate gets it right, they’ll win, if he doesn’t change up, they’ll lose that’s the way I see this game.

You can always point at anomalous moments (Bellingham) that save the day - there's been enough football played over the last 160 years.... But for every one of those you can find ten or twenty instances where The Man played poorly and yet, somehow(??), the Team still lost. 'Special things' that turn the tide are 'special' because they are rare, and being reliant on the anomaly - the rare occurrence - is not a 'Plan' for success. That said, as a Man City follower i've really enjoyed the immense contributions that all of the boys have made to their respective Teams at this Tournament... until I look at England. Walker and Foden haven't suddenly become rabbits - something else is going on.
Heh, very true. When looking back at a season it's tempting to look for a specific event or 3 points either way which changed EVERYTHING. To work backwards from that and try to rely on a magical event happening to save the day as a strategy doesn't sound ideal. It says more about humans than the game itself I think. The players looked happier for for the first time I've seen under Southgate initially , but now things don't look right at all again, in all respects.
7 minutes talking about England, rather than remotely analysing their opponent. The difference between this current Swiss side and how they previously played is that their much more comfortable holding possession with their ball playing defenders, and Ndoye, Reider, Aebischer and Vargas have added a different dimension in allowing fast counter attacks and wide attacking play and are not as reliant on having a quality striker such as Embolo or previously Seferovic.
I will never understand How someone who grew up watching and playing with great midfielders watches Jude and comes up to the conclusion that he's a "special talent".
The bookies (the English bookies) make England favourites because they can't afford to give good odds when fans will bet on them irrespective of form. England are probably 5th favourites for this tournament but that's no use to the bookies.
Mourinho already picked England to get to the finals of this tournament. Slovenia showed Portugal what grit can do in 120 minuted of football. Every other thing is emotions. Can someone tell these studio talkers that come Saturday they'll come weeping again how England managed to beat Switzerland!
@@nc8507 yes, against Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. The fact that you think those are performances to be proud of tells everyone how desperate the English fans are. Thirsty for anything I guess
11.English players plus the coach is 10.English players. With the last win at the last minute, maybe the players will be more connected. This way they can play better and save the coach.
The only bullet proof way to win against Switzerland is to hype them up as favorites. they cannot handle that at all. If England underestimates them and the Swiss come out confident, they will win 3-1 against England. If England comes in with some respect and the Swiss are a bit too comfortable, it will be 1-0 or 0-1 based on luck.
Are the betting companies subject to stringent trading standards? Why are they allowed to fraudulently make England favorites despite clear evidence to the contrary? If this was an obvious 25 to 1 horse given 7 to 2 favorite odds there would be an investigation into serious betting odds irregularities.
It's the structure of the draw. England have the easier side of the draw. And two big teams from Spain, Germany, France and Portugal are going to be eliminated.
We can all see what Slovenia did to Portugal. They made Christiano shed huge tears. Meanwhile these same pundits cursed Southgate for drawing against same Slovenia. Are these pundits good at what they do at all?
Rooting for the mother country England, but they have been shiite. Switzerland are so organized and compact, they just don't make mistakes. Southgate is just a terrible manager.
On paper England has the depth to beat Swiss twice on any given Sunday. . But unfortunately the major difference is that England plays individually together, while the swiss play together collectively.
England are sleepwalking to elimination. They woke up briefly to fluke the last game, but then pressed the snooze button again. Southgate needs to make drastic changes.. a back three, TAA and Saka wing backs, Bellingham a false 9, with Palmer and Gordon wide. So drop the unfit, out of form un-droppable Kane.
England have had it so easy so far and still are effjng it up . Germany were unlucky to have to face spain in the quarter final, that should have been a final. Anyway germany are out , portugal are out that was another insane game . I call spain now winning this tournament
Swirzland will play like a final against england...i dont see anything but a win fir england....the Mental strenght of these team is strongest...england had 2 very good goals disallowed and have much more excting and fearless team
For the betting offices? Due to the amount of bets on them and the side of the brackets. For the game, purely on name players instead of team performance.
English people bet more, that is one of 2 explanations for being favoured in the betting odds. The other is that there will be no big teams all the way to the final for England - again.

It amazes me how they all question why England are favourites to win, whilst predicting an England win. Doesn't make any kind of sense.
I have the same question.
The bookies (the English bookies) make England favourites because they can't afford to give good odds when fans will bet on them irrespective of form. England are probably 5th favourites for this tournament but that's no use to the bookies.
It's because England have an easier path to the final than Spain's side
Mourinho already picked England to get to the finals of this tournament. Slovenia showed Portugal what grit can do in 120 minuted of football. Every other thing is emotions. Can someone tell these studio talkers that come Saturday they'll come weeping again how England managed to beat Switzerland!
i don't know about hard watch
it could have been england vs portugal (with ronaldo as a 9)
or england vs france
And once again we avoided the big teams. It happens in every tournament we play in. Unbelievable
You seem disappointed
I'm banking on the Swiss rolling on to the semis by making swiss cheese out of Southgate's gnomes.
Cool story
you're cuckoo
@@TT-fq7pl Excellent observation.
You're gonna lose your investment
LOL that's funny
wrong mate - there is no pressure for the Swiss to win. And they are certainly not the favorits.
The planned England vs Italy game has turned to another match that can be cancelled to allow England wins.
All England need to do is take the handbrake off and the Swiss won't cope.
Xhaka has no problem with being favorite. He will be outstanding and has the mentality that England lacks.
They r still forcing the Zidane Jude ting😂
Not like he keeps coming in clutch is it?
Nah.... Must be in your head...
I couldn’t bear to watch most of the last game, amazed at the result.I fear this will be a bloodbath
Bellingham the only reason I don't bet all my money on Switzerland. Hope he gets banned. What a douche! But what a player!
Gather every day to condemn and talk trash about England. I wish England well and hope they win on Saturday.
Have they done anything to merit anything else? They have been garbage against Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Lol
@@A4000 People always have trash talked England, every year people do it, there are a lot of Anglophobes out there.
@@A4000Yet they topped the group and are into the quarters.
@@nc8507 yes, against Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. The fact that you think those are performances to be proud of tells everyone how desperate the English fans are. Thirsty for anything I guess
I hope Switzerland wins, it’s more fun and attractive football to look at 👍
I will be completely embarrassed if England stumble and trip there way to another win without playing any type of football.
No you won't. Inwardly, you'll be absolutely delighted.
Southgate has changed formations in tournaments before.
Yea, from a back 5 with 2DMs, to a back 4 with 2DMs.
@@russellward4624 formations I call them.
Switzerland are favortise with no doubts. Switzer is going to win unless england find some sort of good spirit.
Based on all the other teams having to play each other - it’s quiet simple
It's the structure of the draw. England have the easier side of the draw. And two big teams from Spain, Germany, France and Portugal are going to be eliminated.
@@Rob-cy8xcEngland aren't better than the teams in their half of the draw so it isn't that simple.
The bookies are english thats why england are favourites
"Art of Fine Jinxing". Well done ESPN
3-1 Switzerland. Would put my house on it

3.5.2 needed for the Swiss game and get Trippier off that left hand side.
We have a tactically weak manager afraid to make bold changes
We can all see what Slovenia did to Portugal. They made Christiano shed huge tears. Meanwhile these same pundits cursed Southgate for drawing against same Slovenia.
Are these pundits good at what they do at all?
No way this game ends 1-0 or 2-0 for England. Switzerland has one of the best defence and will definitely score.
I understand this is an England Switzerland segment. But nothings even been said about France not even scoring from open play all tournament😂
how can England be favourites to win the tournament when we all know how they have been playing in this Euro? they just only escaped past Slovakia
It's all about the present, not the past. C'mon England.
Look at the potetential contenders of england until the final they are all weak
We haven't seen H. Kane (penalty) yet.
The refs know hes a diver so not giving anything when he throws himself to the ground in the box
Couldn’t have said it any better than you, that’s exactly it, so frustrating but it is what it is and may the best team win on the day
If this game end up draw game go into penalty kick, i think Switzerland might win on penalty
Favorites should be
Spain
Germany
Switzerland
Portugal
France
England
Switzerland are not favourites
@@AlexOjideagu2 in that order
@@saturdaysequalsyouth You do realise Spain, Germany, Portugal and France will knock each other out? They cannot all be above England.
@@AlexOjideagu2 whoever wins from that side of the bracket will probably win the tournament. Id even say whoever wins from Spain and Germany
This match will be quite interesting. Let's see the odds.
I do not have a prediction.
England are favourite to win the tournament
Steve Nicol : Switzerland are the favorites
England are sleepwalking to elimination. They woke up briefly to fluke the last game, but then pressed the snooze button again. Southgate needs to make drastic changes.. a back three, TAA and Saka wing backs, Bellingham a false 9, with Palmer and Gordon wide. So drop the unfit, out of form un-droppable Kane.
Do you think these England players will let it happen?
Who cares about the coach, these men are winners...
Ignore the 🤡 in the studio talking rubbish. England already won this game before it even started. And yet again these pundits will come crying.
3-1 Swiss on form and unless Southgate changes the team around.
HOW can the panel all be picking England after watching them for the last 4 games??
The good news is that USMNT won’t be the news after Saturday.
TMNT?
Delusional panel.
England will need to score 4 goals to win
Cos Switzerland will get
3
England have had it so easy so far and still are effjng it up . Germany were unlucky to have to face spain in the quarter final, that should have been a final. Anyway germany are out , portugal are out that was another insane game . I call spain now winning this tournament
Swirzland will play like a final against england...i dont see anything but a win fir england....the Mental strenght of these team is strongest...england had 2 very good goals disallowed and have much more excting and fearless team
Hard to watch for an England fan.
I mean I loved watching the Swiss just absolutely pass around Italy 🤷🏽
I'm not sure England can beat anyone but I'd like to see them play 5-3-2, with Kane and Toney up fromt to hassle the Swiss back three.
I don't understand why England is favourite
For the betting offices? Due to the amount of bets on them and the side of the brackets. For the game, purely on name players instead of team performance.
Switzerland r winning .more complete unit. moreteam chemistry and creativity
People said that about Austria and Portugal. Portugal were very lucky Seska blew a golden chance.
The only way England could win is if they can grind a dozen of long throws in the right hand side of the field, and deflect one or two into the box 😂
There is a way through for England but it requires Switzerland to rest their best players and maybe losing a few more to red cards.
English people bet more, that is one of 2 explanations for being favoured in the betting odds. The other is that there will be no big teams all the way to the final for England - again.
Jude is lucky that he plays outside England or the English press would have called him Pele-Maradona; young player that's ok possibly good at best.
I have a feeling playing against a non-low-block team, England will start playing
Murat Yakin v Gareth Southgate is like Gary Kasparov playing chess against a baby with a blindfold on ...down to the players COE
I think it's a far stretch to think of the Swiss team as favorite.

Old cliche but true…..
Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again with the same result…….ie England
It will be a 0-0 borefest and Kane will miss his penalty
England do not play as a team.
Switzerland has the better system, the better tactics, the better mentality and their players are not that far away from England talent wise. I'd even say they're more talented except for Bellingham and the frontline.
More at talented? Oh you’re a casual, only two of them get into england team😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Good joke.
As a Swiss I have to tell you, most if not all players including bench and left out players like grealish, sancho, maguire, greenwood, white, they would all start in the swiss team. Only akanji, xhaka, sommer and kobel would play in the english team.
