France has been very poor throughout this whole tournament. However, France is still France and I expect them to play way better in their match against Portugal. The fact that they haven't scored a goal from open play in 4 matches is an astonishing stat, but it doesn't mean much. I expect Mbappe to step up his game, as well as the whole French team. And yes, the show's not that great either, right on again Mr Thomas. Pick Turkey to beat Austria on pens and Romania to shock the Dutch, like Dan, because why not.
As compared to the last World Cup which saw a lot of these European teams (Belgium, Spain, Germany, Portugal) bow out early due to either an aging core or the rest of the world catching up to European standards have made a lot of European teams too defensive minded to play exciting football. It's kind of sad.

I completely agree. I have watched all Euro tournaments since 2004, and this one is the most boring one so far. Even the last two Euro tournament (2016 and 2020) was not up to mark either. Euro 2012 and Euro 2004 were the best one's in my eyes.

In this tournament everyone can consider themselves as favorites, because almost all the big nations are playing badly. Especially England, France and Portugal. All of them underperformed. Spain is the only big nation which has impressed so far. Germany is doing fine, but not very impressive either.
I have to agree this Euro is extemely boring. In fact the last 3 Euro tournaments have not been up to the mark. I really enjoyed Euro 2012, Euro 2008 was good as well, Euro 2004 was fun as well. It seems like with passage of time, football is losing its quality. Too much money, easy acces to get fame due to social media and players are not playing with the same passion and mentality as the previous generations.
Portugal is not beating France. I see France continuing grinding 1-0 wins against Portugal, against Germany or Spain and getting to the Final. Then England beating France 2-0 courtesy of Bellingham and Kane and lift the trophy.
Nothing indicates Portugal is better than France, and nothing indicates France is better than Portugal. Both teams have been underperforming to a large extent. France rely only on own goals and penalties, while Portugal need penalty shootout to overcome Slovenia. Therefore, it is a completely open game.
Maybe France will get another 1-0 win against Portugal, then have the referees gifting several penalties to France against either Germany or Spain, then repeat at the final against either Netherlands or England to win the Euros.
@@jimmyyue238 I also have a feeling UEFA want England to win Euro this time. They would make sure Germany, at least, makes the semi finals since they are the host nation. Portugal-France: 10-18 shots
Was that enough to debunk your really clever analysis?
I believe the players are tired, all of them.
When Frank says Whatever 😂 in a French accent sounds so cool. Like a Monarch that's not having it 😆
If you ever wanted evidence of why too much football reduces the quality, you can't get better examples than this euro and copa. Both have been shorn of quality and goals at a premium barring an odd game here and there.
So they’re tired, uh?
Then why have they played this bad since the first game? Why are there national teams like Spain, Germany, Austria and Switzerland that have played WAAAAY better despite being under the same conditions? What you’re saying sounds like excuses.
I am telling you. France are beating Portugal. And if you are looking for an exciting game well hate to break it for you. As long as Deschamps is the current coach this is not going to happen.
It gives 2018 vibes
Gab spot on
What a tournament from France..they qualify by only with own goals..what a tournament mbappe..
Stll trying to figure out how UEFA came up with a knockout formula that landed 5 heavyweights on 1 side of the bracket and only 2 on the other side. Yea yea France and Belgium was expected to top their groups. Just sorry to see 2 of these teams will be out in the QF round.
The game was sooo boring🥱
The Boaring Euro!!! Only Turkey vs Georgia game is the one everyone can enjoy to watch.
They are the still the main favorites to win this tournament.
France is still considerably better than England, for those making comparisons.
France overall play is better, better tactically(they actually have a game plan), better defensively.
The thing is, all three of Portugal, France and England have been major disappointments so far in the Euro.
Spain is the only big nation which have impressed so far, while Gemany have been good as well.
France played far worse then Portugal mbappe missed 10 shots but its all right until its Ronaldo and Portugal
What shotsm? Might as well provide context. Because he you forgot he had a round 6 successful dribbles.
portugal struggled asf against slovenia, france beat belgium and dominated without being realistic, so keep it humble, portugal lost to georgia also, france have way better defense than portugal, and attack and midfield are almost equal level, france always give portugal struggle, their only win was in 2016
@@lucian6857Last team trying to play face to face Portugal was Swiss… 6-1
I think it would be better to play Giroud and Kolo muani
A bit disappointed in Grezman he has been playing great expected more
Imagine Hazard, Mertens, Meunier, in Belgium
Most players are athletes. Bring more of them in the team and you'll see more games like these. Zero flamboyance, flair or creativity.
From now on I'm only watching Spain in this Euros. Rest of the games are dross.
Switzerland and Germany are also worth watching
@@ulfurkarlsson5885 true, but Spain haven't lowered their level yet, even in the last group game when they played their reserve team. Germany and the Swiss have had one or two poor performances
So true.
This euros has been a snoozefest, Germany or Spain have been the most exciting teams of the tournament and soon one is gonna be knocked out.
France need Zizou
Dan is right 7:29-7:36, this tournament has been boring and disappointing for the most part. Started off with a bang: Germany 5 Scotland 1, 6 goals, exciting football to watch, yeah, bring on the Euros !Since then, barring few exceptions, the matches have been snoozefests for the most part.
France are the only team in the euros that have won two games by own goals insane. France have been horrible absolutely terrible. England horrible and Portugal the same. I’m a huge Portugal fan but I don’t see none of these three teams in the final.
i agree, this is most disappointing Euro tournament I have seen in my life so far.
Both teams are equally frustrative; on paper both teams have so many talented players but... ..especially the forwards but i think France is the worse one :67 shots 2 own goals 1 penalty . The more entertaining matches are between the non contenders in group stage except Spain and Germany
The "Own Cup"
Playing 3 defensive midfielders is a joke. Tchoumani was horrible at shooting.
Tchoumani's shooting was terrible because he's shoots are normally excellent (England in the last World Cup).
He was the only one shooting brother
@@gonzaloloaiza5824 Still terrible
So far the whole Euro’s has been boring poor football!
None of the stars are stepping up this tournament, it’s a shambles. Besides musiala and rodri tbh
France are the new old Italy, we call it "anti-football". I have lost respect for France and hope they never win playing like this again. Every game a snooze fest.
One of the most boring major tournament in recent times. Pity Copa America is at a time zone that’s inconvenient to most of us in asia . The quality and excitement so much better at the Copa than this Euro for sure
I completely agree. I have watched all Euro tournaments since 2004, and this one is the most boring one so far.
Even the last two Euro tournament (2016 and 2020) was not up to mark either.
Euro 2012 and Euro 2004 were the best one's in my eyes.
It’s simple…play Mbappé at the wings and start Giroud at 9. He’s a goal poacher than all the other options they put on the field
England odds on favourites ? Are they having us on ?
It’s crazy how overrated both France and England are.
I can tell Frank dislikes Dan as much as I do 😅
This tournament sucks so far!
Watch Spain
What? It's been a great tournament overall.
Edit: Although most of the great games were in the first round of group matches.
@@footballhipstertv Spain are an absolute joy to watch. I've been waiting years for the return of the winger! That game last night was just what I needed after the anxiety of the England game.
@@a-walpatches6460 🤣🤣🤣🤣. If this level of football is considered as good, then i do not know what low quality football would look like.
In my eyes, this is the worst UEFA euro tournament I have ever seen. I have watched all Euro tournaments since UEFA euro 2004.
@@hsafootballworld1321 It hasn't been good since the first round of group games and a couple later so maybe you have a short memory. They all happened early but there's been more high quality matches in this tournament the previous five Euros. Apparently they all wanted to start off with a win in this tournament and weren't too worried about losing because most 3rd place teams go through.
Belgium were so bad. Is De Bruyne not supposed to be a great player ?
Stevey is a hater for sure,,in 1 game France had more shots on goal than England in all the games theyve played, an he has said less!!
What a waste if two hours this match was, Emerdale and Coronation Street would have been more entertaining!
Low level football at his finest....
I think deschamps mistake to start griezman on the left wings and thuram as a striker
España! España!
only english people can still believe England team is fav
In this tournament everyone can consider themselves as favorites, because almost all the big nations are playing badly.
Especially England, France and Portugal.
All of them underperformed.
Spain is the only big nation which has impressed so far. Germany is doing fine, but not very impressive either.
Well, England won globalisation because they were alone on their island. While the other european powers were in the same bracket.
Lukaku still in saliba's pocket
The "idols" Will go to pens....😂....
France and Englands luck has to run out soon or later.
Poor poor quality this euros is boring hardly no goals
Kante was the best ❤❤
This euros is lame and boring.
Stop crying
But i doubt France would be willing to lose another final after losing a World Cup final two ago, and they do not want to lose another final in the Euro after losing to Portugal in 2016.
I see for myself, Germany reaching the final and agreeing to lose to England in the final.
