People spend their hard-earned money to enjoy the beautiful game, but M. Oliver often appears to have a different perspective when officiating Arsenal games. I genuinely believe there is a conspiracy behind certain teams after that decision, Micheal is one of them. I genuinely believe once we get rid of the horrible people from VAR and the games and start bringing officials from abroad we will see a MASSIVE difference in these decisions. What makes it 10x worse is the lack of accountability and also the lack of immediate questioning.
This is a fake drama from Sky and the PGMOL to disregard that horrendous decision on the weekend. Oliver doesn't even have socials so where is the abuse sent to?
Maybe people won't scream corruption if refs weren't literally being paid by Man City owners to ref games in the UAE. The fact he has never sent off a Man City player in his career whilst averaging a red every 6 games against Arsenal (Man City's main rival the last 2 seasons) just cements the obvious corruption.
That Doku challenge on MacAllister to me is such a blatant example of corruption. I don’t know how anyone can come to any other conclusion. Again, in favour of Man City in a title race between the two.
@kevinmcnab5670 let's pretend that working for a sponsor is the same as working for literal football club owners. Okay, we'll pretend these are the same. He's sent off 8 Arsenal players in 55 games, he's sent off our players the most in the league. He's sent off no City players. We obviously aren't getting favourable decisions from him, so what's your point, genius? Try again.
@Cmcc1886 owners or not, he's taken money off a company that has an invested financial interest in Arsenal, and it doesn't matter how many times he's sent off Arsenal players. What counts is how many Arsenal players he has sent off UNJUSTLY?
Classic Sky Sports, trying to shift the narrative away from the real issue. Nobody condones the abuse, but the lack of accountability and consistent poor decisions from referees like Michael Oliver is what fuels this frustration in the first place. Fans feel FRUSTRATED that this is just part of the game at this point. Instead of addressing these concerns, they deflect and gaslight fans. Read the room and stop taking a PGMOL paycheck.
The problem is Oliver based on the stats is twice as likely to send off an Arsenal player than any other team. He has never given a red card to City and went so far as to break the rules to keep Kovacic on the field against Arsenal last season. He sent of Martinelli with two yellow cards at once, he sent of Trossard for kicking the ball away after less than a second. Olivers red and yellow cards handed out against Arsenal are shocking when you look at the number compared to other teams. Even more so City who he never issued a single red against.
@@jazziepha206 just saw some more stats and Oliver has never awarded a penalty against City. Despite Doku stomping Mccalister in the chest last season.
Arsenal had an indiscipline problem and he happened to be there for those games, the sample size is too small to make any conclusions (in statistics, operating on few rare events and extrapolating is called extreme value theory and is very controversial) and to even begin to be valid, you'd need to control for events in the games (ie tease out the cases where a yellow vs red decision had to be made). My impression, which I don't claim statistical support for, isn't that Oliver makes a lot of decisions against Arsenal (at worst, Arsenal suffered from inconsistent decisions that happen at the start of every season), it's that he (and a few other refs) make a lot of decisions in favour of Man City.
This is just straight up propaganda for the PGMOL and FA. Michael Oliver is a ridiculous excuse of a ref and officiating is the WORST it's ever been in the Premier League
Typical Sky - instead of accepting the fact it was a terrible decision, they rather back the referees who make consistently bad decisions then ask why do fans have such contempt for the PGMOL

Okay but none of these things excuse the abuse and threats made against him. This is what's wrong in society. The PGMOL need to be better, referees need to be better, accountability needs to be better, and owning up to mistakes needs happen. BUT at the same time, you can say that the abuse and threats are also wrong and shouldn't happen!
Ok. Your opinion of corruption is when ref makes a decision against your team. Grow up . On that argument, all fans are corrupt. Arsenal worst of the lot. High delusions of grandeur.
Abuse is wrong, but them never taking accountability when they consistently mess up is also wrong. All I will say is that if I made as many higher profile mistakes in my own job, as some of these referees make in theirs, especially the ones in the VAR room, then I wouldn't exactly be holding onto that job for long.

@@AyoT7 No one's forcing them to read Twitter. Unless people are accosting him irl outside the ground, it's a non-issue. With that said, threats against his person and family are not acceptable, even in jest.
This is the crux of the issue: people get upset when there's no accountability. Why does Michael Oliver make mistakes against Arsenal ? He has refereed in 50 games involving Man City and has NEVER sent any of their players off. Fact.
Exactly. Kovacic was on a yellow last season when we played City at home, and he tackled Rice FROM BEHIND. Anyone who knows anything about football, is a tackle from behind is a yellow card offence. But Oliver refused to send him off. City that day should have been down to 10 men.
We predicted Media and PGMOL will come up with deflective tactics 2.0. Michael Oliver has given 108 yellow cards 8 redcards. In contrast 0 red for Mancity a Miles Kelly has been 1 of the best player for Arsenal few games now oh! coincidence Arsrnal is facing City next . Let that sink in
How predictable that these pundits come out to support Michael Oliver despite him continuously making these clearly wrong decisions. Michael Oliver should be sacked, there is no other job in the world that would tolerate such incompetence.
The discrepency between the mainstream vs. reality is shocking. If the PGMOL came out and agreed it was wrong, the reaction wouldn't be anywhere near this level. No sane person would harm another human over a game.
Exactly this. Abusing someone over a football game is wrong full stop but the pgmol just fan the flames weekly by condoning bad reffing. When they do get one wrong just admit admit it! Mistakes happen. They would get a lot more respect by doing so. Also the timing of the releasing of this abuse is convenient to try and save oliver and change the narrative from yesterday. As we know alot of idiots have access to internet! I imagine most refs get messages most weekends from idiot fans, its not right but comes with the job unfortinately but they choose today to make it public because football fans (not just arsenal) are questioning oliver and they dont like it.
@deanv5796 they chose today but today is the day after yesterday (when the game was). 24 hours later. Jesus, when should it be. 2 weeks later. Sometimes there genuinely might be no motivate behind it. By the way, there are some people that don't believe it was the wrong decision. There will be some experts and ex players out there who agree with it. Its the problem when the rules are subjective! Everyone is different, everyone has different opinions, it is always going to happen when there is a 'person' as a referee. We've literally got to a point where some people are arrogant and think their opinion is better than others. It's like when people say ex players will make great refs, as if all ex players think exactly the same way on all decisions. There will still be disagreements. If you want to get rid of referees who think that was a red card for example, then you are actually advocating for a computer to referee a game where it's the same all the time. You'll never get consistency between games. All you can ask for is consistency in a game. Same person = same decisions and interpretion in a game.
Jamie Redknapp : "Michael Oliver is by far and away the best referee we've got" Are you for real? Arsenal is a business, with millions of fans world wide. He's clearly up to something and it's impacting all of those fans and potentially costing the owners millions by missing out on the league. Why does he never makes these mistakes against City? Does he expect everyone to just smile and say "don't worry about it, you did your best"? It doesn't work like that. He needs to be accountable and investigated.

@@omother6950 exactly. It has decided the title winners two years running now. City have been given an easy ride whilst arsenal have been robbed many times, if it was an even playing field in that regard arsenal would have won at least one league title.

Oliver is an embarrassing referee, his actions have been incompetent at best. It’s embarrassing for the PGMOL and sky sports to try and gaslight fans into disbelieving what everyone knows is another incorrect decision. These decisions have enormous consequences for everyone involved EXCEPT the person and organisation that makes them. Abuse is never ok but by not dealing with these situations properly as they occur peoples frustrations build and the problem gets bigger. It’s time to hold officials accountable.
You say abuse is never OK in one sentence but berate him over the other many sentences. You're part of the problem. Some things are bigger than football, this is cult behaviour.
@ You sir have a pretty selective and low threshold to call something abuse. I was simply responding with the same rhetoric as the commentators in the video who labeled fans “embarrassing” whilst trying to gaslight us. They make it sound like they are referring to some truly ugly internet messaging similar to what we’ve seen players receive (not that they’ve provided proof.) But in reality I imagine referees receive abuse every match and this is just a cunningly contrived plot to take attention away from the actual issue of poor referring because for once you have a decision so egregious it’s united fan bases who hate each other. We’d all have a lot more understanding for refs if they admitted they are human and make errors instead of contorting the truth beyond recognition to avoid responsibility. But Oliver has a history of this that is to hard to ignore. You don’t have to be a conspiracy theorist to see his red card and penalty record against Arsenal compared with say City. Incidents directly against city or that have some kind of benefit for city. The conflict of interest of allegedly being paid substantial fees by organisations involving club owners hardly dowses the flames. None of this should be allowed to happen or continue to happen.

However, his family has nothing to do with this, sure he may stop refereeing if he's scared for his family BUT his kids and wife shouldn't be in constant fear and harassment.. they didn't sign up to this
Because they're never allowed to be criticised. Look what happens when a player or manager moans at referees. They get fined or get a touchline ban. They have the power to punish players and managers so there's hardly any criticism towards them. Due to the lack of accountability, the referees are given free passes every week without any consequences.
@@circle1552and to add to that, this is what makes it boil over, if you watch someone get away with inadequacy, at the top level, for that long with no punishment, fans try to take matters into their own hands. It's so easily managed too, like just don't let let Michael Oliver ref against arsenal or for city. This is why it's corrupt
Just a reminder his anti-Arsenal bias went into overdrive post 2018 after he sent off, by most objective viewers, incorrectly Ainsley Maitland-Niles in an Arsenal loss at Leicester. After the game both his wife and him got death threats. Since then the data evidences his clear bias against Arsenal. Jamie Carragher can be quiet. When Klopp was Liverpool manager David Coote was always slagging him off. He clearly wasnt reffing Liverpool without bias.
If he is the best ref we have then we are all fucked! I find it shameful to hear that Michael Oliver is the best referee in EPL! That Skelly foul can't be a red card. Oliver has really disgraced EPL. I shouldn't be blamed for seeing him to be corrupt with the level of inconsistencies he's shown.
Why Gomes wasn't shown second yellow when he kicked the ball out. But when Rice barely touched the moving ball it was red card by letter of the law. I am disgusted by the two refrees who think they are bigger than the English FA. Removing them together with HW will only make EPL more respected
Someone with integrity doesn't go to referee a game for millions of dollars in an oil country. He same person doesn't also make several questionable red card decisions this season that disadvantages the team pursuing the league title.
So when players play bad or manager don't get results they get criticised and sacked. We all can see that micheal oliver is an incompetent corrupt ref alongside many others in premier league. So rather than criticizing him and calling for him to be sacked these joker pundits like carragher and others in main stream media defend them. Abuse is not accepted to anyone but if accountability is not taken then i don't feel sorry for these refs a single bit. And we are appalled at this refs decisions. This ref has made a number of dubious decisions ---- but never against Man City who has paid for him to referee in Dubai.

@@mikeypc3592irrelevant to this conversation.

He has refereed in 50 games involving Man City and has NEVER sent any of their players off. Fact.
Didn't want to ruin the match pft
Exactly. Kovacic was on a yellow last season when we played City at home, and he tackled Rice FROM BEHIND.
Anyone who knows anything about football, is a tackle from behind is a yellow card offence. But Oliver refused to send him off. City that day should have been down to 10 men.
Man city and newcastle are the only teams that never get bad decisions ..wonder why
Now I see why during CBS sports Champions League analysis only TITI (Henry 14) and Micah Richard (Brest Lover) were given shirts for Brest

They make it sound like they are referring to some truly ugly internet messaging similar to what we’ve seen players receive (not that they’ve provided proof.) @@Sidwhite-yb5cvlittle boy has a lot of growing up to do
Do you know what Oliver's decision will negatively impact young Skelly? This is an 18 years old player...the young player is traumatized.
The referees should be held accountable and fans are nit seeing that they are, so the fans hold the officials accountable.
However, his family has nothing to do with this, sure he may stop refereeing if he's scared for his family BUT his kids and wife shouldn't be in constant fear and harassment.. they didn't sign up to this
Referees are never punished for bad performances and continue to make mistakes. Instead of focusing on the reaction why don't they get better?
Because they're never allowed to be criticised. Look what happens when a player or manager moans at referees. They get fined or get a touchline ban. They have the power to punish players and managers so there's hardly any criticism towards them. Due to the lack of accountability, the referees are given free passes every week without any consequences.
Punished for making a mistake. Should he go to jail? It's almost like they're humans and humans make mistakes, weird that.
@@Alx-h9ghave you ever heard of a disciplinary for example
Just a reminder his anti-Arsenal bias went into overdrive post 2018 after he sent off, by most objective viewers, incorrectly Ainsley Maitland-Niles in an Arsenal loss at Leicester. After the game both his wife and him got death threats. Since then the data evidences his clear bias against Arsenal. Jamie Carragher can be quiet. When Klopp was Liverpool manager David Coote was always slagging him off. He clearly wasnt reffing Liverpool without bias.
If he is the best ref we have then we are all fucked! This is the same ref who didn't send off Kovacic at the Emirates because he didn't want to "Ruin a big game by making a rash decision" yet made a rash decision yesterday... the same ref who didn't give Liverpool a penalty after Doku hit a sweet chin music on MacAlister, the same ref that in the very same game yesterday only gave the Wolves player a second yellow despite it being a stonewall red 😂
They have already costed arsenal 7-8 points this season through poor refereeing decisions and that could cost them the league title. They costed us the league title even last season from that newcastle decision where ball crossed over the line but the goal was still given. These refs are ruining the sport. Sack all of them and appoint proper unbiased ones
Really simple protest of pgmol would be if every fan brings a red card with the word “corrupt” on it and raises it before the whistle
Totally agreed. These are essentially corruption and bribery behind all these false callings. It’s not the club got hurt most but fans who pay to watch these matches were treated unfairly. While these refs are getting money from oversea activities outside their regular payroll. In fact abuse against criminal is not something disgraceful but needed to fight against financial crimes! Need justice!
@@Amsn9393 😅😅😅😅😅
bad decision by Oliver, we all know that, but the real issue is VAR saw nothing wrong - and let's have automated offside and ball out of play technology
Classic avoidance of accountability. Playing the victim to deflect from the situation. PGMOL is more corrupt than FIFA
These pundits are disgraceful! They are just as bad as our referring in this country!
Probably a hoax to get the attention away from the horrendous red card.
This is not an isolated incident. He does it time and time again. How are they saying he's the best? You can count ALL his mistakes in his career with your fingers? I can count all his mistakes THIS SEASON and I wouldn't have enough fingers to count them all.
Have absolutely no reason to believe the Liverpool and Spurs mouthpieces would be biased against Arsenal!
Your fan base are the thickest and most toxic
Nope. Absolutely shocking decision. And questions NEED to be asked.
The mental gymnastics from Carragher trying to justify this decision is genuinely hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Think he's been forced to do this bit by sky and doesnt believes the words he's saying.
And we are appalled at this refs decisions. This ref has made a number of dubious decisions ---- but never against Man City who has paid for him to referee in Dubai. I have never subscribed to the corruption concept or even that Oliver is against Arsenal ---- but the stats do back these conspiracy theorists up. He has never given a red card against a Man City player despite refereeing them 50 times. Then you look at the poor decisions he has made in favour of City. Its not a good look, especially when you have been paid by that club to work in Dubai.
40/50 year olds protecting a 39yo man at the expense of an 18yo who is the victim of a wrong decision is legendary.
The OFFICIATING is absolutely disgraceful.
You couldn't do better
@@Alx-h9gYour statement is dumb, and by extension you’re dumb. Is he a referee? The basis of your comparison is as twisted as your views on what good referring should entail.
@@thebettingstrategy3631 So who could do better than, dumass? Because no one who is human can ref a game without making mistakes? You fans will complain about any ref in any game where a decision goes against your team.
I turned the TV off after the red card, I decided to stop watching the PL because I am absolutely DISGUSTED ! The PGMOL is killing the PL product
Same not paying anymore.
Are they trying to make the premier league bad to garner support for a superleague ? I cant understand how this league is officiated so badly , its becoming panto
Same
Jamie Redknap is such a fool how can he say Oliver is the best ref!! That’s a ridiculous comment
Why do think his wife left him
the guy has nothing between his ears, and obviously nothing in his trousers also
How much are they paying the pundits to sympathise with them? Referees need to start being held accountable for bad decisions it’s costing teams points in crucial matches. If i make a bad mistake at work I’m in trouble. These referees are paid thousands on live tv watched by millions and don’t have to take accountability.
How can you get abused on social media when you’re not on social media at all, I’m really confused!
