- This is a 1930 Ford Model "A" with a few problems. The distributor casting is cracked and I replace it with a better original in this video. In the next video I wire the ignition switch.

Nice video. It would be best to source the black negative side coil wire to the driver's side of the terminal box. This lets the ignition operation show up on the ammeter as a jiggle in the needle as the primary circuit functions. This change was specified in a Ford Service bulletin in November of 1929 (page 390 if I recall correctly). This "Henry Jiggle" provides instant information to the driver if the car begins to stall or won't start, etc. Your client will benefit greatly.

I see you have the later replacement long solid distributor shaft on the 1930 Ford. The $10 spare unit appears to have the short shaft with the coupling to another shaft. I am told the car originally had the short shaft on the distributor head and the loose coupling was in the design. I was planning to convert my Ford from the long shaft to the short coupled shaft as it is supposed to put less strain on the lower half of the distributor housing.
Perhaps that is why your housing snapped in the first place?
Also I found by putting more of a point on the timing pin makes it easier to find the dimple in the timing gear.
I may be seeing this wrong, but it seems at 14:06 that what you describe as CCW is actually CW. and what you describe as CW is actually CCW.
