- When Will The Old Pokemon Games Come to The Switch
Ok so, We got the game boy on the Nintendo switch online service on February 9th, 2023. The game boy games we got are pretty good, but I’m pretty sure we all know the best games on the gameboy were the Pokemon games. I’m sure we all want Pokemon Red, Pokemon Silver, and Pokemon ruby. We haven’t been able to play these games since the DS era, and I don’t know about you guys but I don’t have mine anymore. And I’m assuming most of you guys don’t either, so Where are the old pokemon games at?? I’m pretty sure Nintendo knows how successful the pokemon series is, and how much everyone loves and cherishes these games. So in this video I’ll be talking about When I think the Old Pokemon games will come to the switch. But before we start the video can we talk about the pink elephant in the corner… you’re not subscribed to the channel (sigh). Alright, if you guys are aware of the pokemon release dates then you know we usually get them during fall or early winter. But there have been leaks of a possible remake of Pokemon Black and White which has me hyped for future news. But that left me thinking about how we still haven’t gotten any news about the old pokemon games. We all want that nostalgic experience with those games again. and is it even wrong to say that I think I rather have the old games instead of a black and white remake. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love Pokemon black and white, but something about the Og pokemon games hit different. The graphics, the pokemon, and of course the pokemon make the older games so much fun. And honestly, we could be getting a shock drop during November or December. So hopefully this take ages like wine and we end up getting them by then.
Another theory I have is the worst possible outcome, but we’ve experienced Nintendo do it countless times. And what I’m talking about is individual releases or remakes of each of the Old pokemon games.(NOOOOOO DARK VADER MEME). Now if they do this they’ll probably charge 60 dollars for each game and ain’t nobody got time for that. I’m not slaving away working at Pizza hut just to be blowing my check on Pokemon. So if Nintendo is feeling generous they better just release them on the online service, but then again that's not necessarily generous but better than that. And if they do end up remaking the old pokemon games again, I’m pretty sure I can speak for us all when I say I don’t want the jibby style. We were all devastated when we saw the trailer for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and shining pearl. That jibby style just wasn’t cutting it, and if you liked it I’m assuming you’re a zesty Drake fan. Because no other human being would like the jibby style. But anyways, if they remake them then we’ll probably have to wait the next few years for all of them.

I honestly hope they do add the old games, currently Pokemon Crystal (I think) is the only game where you can shiny hunt Celebi

Imagine we never get the old pokemon games….
Not getting the best selling games in the first year is kinda crazy and basically could prove their milking us. Never getting them is objectively problematic to the gb/gba nso fans and could potentially be seen as predatory since alot of fans are waiting for the seemingly inevitable titles. Especially since many thought they would come with the service day 1 when they announced it.

If they haven't put Gen 1 and 2 on Switch already, then it's never coming. They have had almost 7 years to make them available, which speaks to how out of touch Nintendo are with their audience. The Switch has at least 1 new generation of pokemon games left in it, and then they have upgrade to a new generation of hardware. I'm not hopeful Nintendo will pay attention next Gen and keep the N64, GameCube and other Gameboy Classics coming.
Gen 5 is the peak pokemon game after it's no longer the same ORAS is a miracle
I agree!! Since then theres been a few alright ones, like X and Y, and I honestly thought Sword and shield was okay.
@sleezy78 sun and moon are my favorite games based on just the game but gen 3 is my favorite based on Nostalgia.
Honestly, I don’t mind them wanting to cash in on remakes as long as they include the original as well. They can release a remake of R/B/G/Y, G/S/C, R/S/E as long as the original is included as well and just charge 75$ for both as a bundle.
I would honestly be happy with that as well!!

@@sleezy78 I bought a 3ds xl mostly for that fact then found out they shut down the shop and can no longer buy or install them :’(. I’ll have to jailbreak it to have some of those games on there

I noticed how GameFreak is trying to bring back all the Pokemon on the Switch because they knew the online services for the 3DS would shut down eventually and they're encouraging everyone to download Bank and transfer their pokemon while they can. At this point, they should add old Pokemon games to the Switch next year so we'll have every generation on the console like on the 3DS.
I would love if that would happen!!
They're probably gonna release a collection packs that's over priced, different versions, and limited release

This is one of the reasons why I preferred the 3DS seriously screw Nintendo for shutting down the Wii U, and 3DS eShops and for what the damn Switch Online😡

For my ideal version for the Unova remakes, they should combine both the stories of Black and White and Black and White 2 into 2 versions.
How?
By making 2 save files, one for the first game, and having the other one unlocked for the sequel. After completing both games, you can transfer Pokémon between files as some sort of New Game+, but with the Gym Badge cap of course, while keeping in all the features that were revered by fans while adding quality of life fixes to the games.
I would call these games
Pokémon Jet Black and Pure White.

Between never am and never o clock and i literally told people this a year and a half to two years prior to GBA,GBC and GB on Nso that even if the rumors were true they won't bring mainline Pokémon when remakes make crazy money
If they do remake them, that's okay, but it needs to be done with the same 3D freeroam gameplay and aesthetic as Pokemon Legends.

I messaged Nintendo about a year and a half ago. I messaged a real nice Nintendo customer service person.
I asked them about possibility re-releasing old Pokémon games, and they said they would message the Pokémon company and Game Freak about a possible re-release of all old Pokémon games and they couldn’t guarantee anything about a possible re-release window, because of renewing a licensing game on a new Nintendo console that does not have the software required to play these old Pokémon games takes a lot of Software development to make sure these old but gold games can actually play properly on a Nintendo console.
Plus Nintendo has to also pay the old developers money to license these old games to come to be re-released on a newer but more powerful future Nintendo console.

They literally made games no one asked for playable on the Switch but don't have the ressources to do Pokémon?
Nah bro... they are still looking for a way to sell them to us as expensive as possible.
Meanwhile, you can already play them perfectly if you have a modded switch... ds games included. GameFreak is just a horribly managed company.

Emulation is great but are there actually reliable sources for free on the internet? I haven't been able to find any romhacks or emulators that are functional and don't cost money or need some sort of pc play.
iNDS emulator is the one you want if you wanna play games like soul silver and heart gold. Eclipse emulator for games like fire red , blue , yellow ,silver , gold and crystal 👍

Is not going to happen, pokemon games are different from other kind of games in the way that players expect them to work not only with each other and spin off titles but also with the modern available apps for pokemon storing. I doubt tpci has any intentions of adding like 10+ old games to the whole pokemon ecosystem all with revamped wireless functions and everything. Its just too much of a dedicated work and GF is not that much of a pasionate studio nowadays
Red, Blue and Yellow this holiday season. Gold, Silver and Crystal in summer 2024. Ruby and Sapphire in holiday season 2024 or early 2025.

100% old games over bw remake. BW doesnt need a remake because that was peak pokemon graphics. i dont want wtf they were doing with BDSP or scarlet
