real for liking your own comment
I love how he talks about Thunderous's set being super infuriating and tormenting competitive players but never mentions who popularized it
Not even a subtle hint. Even some slight allusion to the fact that it was almost entirely his fault would've been funny af lol
It made it way funnier coming to the comments and learning it was his fault tho lol
Wonder who that could've been 🤔🤔 (joke)
Who?

Good news Ray, Urshifu won another world championship!
'Miraidon and Koraidon are Glacial Lance fodder'. Oh how poorly this has already aged after the 2024 Worlds lol.
Especially with Miraidon lol

Groudon and kyogre always shape the 2 restricted format. The only thing holding them now is their low accuracy moves in comparison to other restricteds.
Still with the low accuracy, if we had either primal groudon or primal kyogre, they would have also dominated regulation G.
And the most important thing, they design and concept is still badass till this day. Weather trio FTW!
@@daveizab4151 Competition with Koraidon also kinda holds Groudon back now, albeit waaay less than in singles.
@@anna_medeia I'm curious to see if in a double restricted format there will be teams with both Koraidon and Groudon on the same team.
@@hornetscale I could see that combo being more compatible and effective if Groudon still had its Primal-Form which is really annoying for Fairy Types, but we gotta wait and see till the next double restricted format.
Was not expecting to see Sam Sulek in a Ray Rizzo video. The boss never ceases to surprise.
I want them to swap places now, Sam can try and win worlds, and Ray can get swole af
I’m giggling over the critiques of Thundurus when a certain three-time world champion is the one who discovered the best and most annoying way to (slowly) maul opponents with the electrified genie
I think the fall of Cresselia (at least in gen 9) is mainly meta game. There aren’t many strong ground types but there is tons of priority so Cress basically has no ability whereas Farigiraf’s ability controls what plays your opponents are able/willing to go for just from existing in team preview. If there was a low priority, ground dominated meta, I think Cress will take over again, like with Ursaluna at the start of Reg D.
Why did they even nerf Cress
@@wonderfulrose477it was pretty much considered the best pokemon of all time for vgc before incineroar. Even with the stat nerf, it still pretty much got a net buff with the new signature move it got from PLA.
ground was such an underutalized type this year
while weak to calice, it's strong against both bikes, incinaroar, raging bolt, and most future paradox forms
you could see this with Diego Ferreira, whose ursaluna was able to greatly help him against most of his matchups and attain a perfect record heading into day two
you were the mad scientist who birthed Thunderous insane strats
I find great joy in the fact that Miraidon beat the fraud allegations, established itself as a top threat, and then went on to win Worlds just to prove it wasn't a fluke.
Zamazenta getting third at Worlds takes the cake though, 20/10 redemption arc
28:45 Well now Urshifu's has got two belts (and it was on both teams so it would've gotten the W either way)
Miraidon: and then I sweeped the field of all calyrexes and won worlds to prove him wrong
I look forward to the day we get ray back in the fight to win worlds again. To see if he can do it after 10 years away would be so fun to watch.
But Urshifu just won the 2024 World Championship.
Well he uploaded the video right before the conclusion of this worlds, bad timing
Landorus Incarnate got 2nd place, and also another placing in top 8.
I still think landorus (if you count the 2 forms) is fitting for 3rd place
@@daveizab4151 Yeah Landorus still deserves third place, albeit it's now way more arguable between these two mons and their different forms.

I don't know if that aged porly bacause Calyrex-Ice loss in the finals... or well because Ray almost got it right.
a lot of people dont realize that the sheer force life orb interaction only works with attacks that are boosted by sheer force so using like earthquake would still cause recoil but earth power wouldnt
Ive known about you so much from your tourney placings but this was the first time Ive seen your channel. I love the visual gags! Also very insightful commentary!
watching this after miraidon took home the victory and calyrax ice just felt little short
the real legendary pokemon is the friends we met along the way
I would love to see a vid along the lines of "top 10 pokemon that have never won worlds"
14:18 the plural for any Pokemon is just its name so it would still be Landorus
I think I have to give it to Groudon being the best as it was able to make it to finals the most amount of times doing it more than kyogre. Miraidon takes the W this year haha with ogerpon too ❤
12:41 Like the use of Monster House footage. Was quite the nostalgia bomb.
Aye let’s go, right after worlds too!
Not gonna lie, I was hoping someone was going to pick up a second world’s win and light a fire under Ray
@@banditrests It looked for a while like Wolfe would do that, but then 3 losses in a row happened just like that and he wasn't in Top 8.

Your videos have gotten a lot better since last time I watched, keep up the good work man!
Why make a 42 minute video talking about which legendary is the best when we all know its Incineroar?
That tangent about hiring companies hit me hard.
Just a quick appreciation for working in a regular job and still making those awesome videos
Keep going my guy 😀
They need to nerf Urshifu, maybe make the "unseen first" only bypass protect 1 time per battle (because it already been seen) or their signature only crit when their health is at full
I hope mewtwo gets a ability like a reworked protein where it Dosent change type but it still gets stab

I’m honestly shocked they didn’t make surging strikes a spread move, urshifu op
Urshifu decided to make this video obsolete the day of it's release 😅
Hey ray, wanted to tell you a gen 7 duo I had going it reminded me of your swagger metagross combo.
So in gen 7 I used a toucannon with skill link and bullet seed, - atk nature and 0 ivs in attack alongside a salamance with intimidate and knowing rage.
So what I did was use rage with salamance and then bullet seed salamance for a +5 attack bonus.
Since salamance was 4x resistant to grass I took little damage to get the +5 attack on salamance
I didn’t have time to explore and try it out in the competitive scene, but thought it was interesting to tell you.
And no you can’t do this anymore, rage was removed unfortunately 😅.
He's so right Tapu Fini IS brat
I think this is my 1st time watching one of your videos. I really like your vibe :)
One that create banlist from a banlist, and maybe the one that can mega and use a exclusive z move all on its own

who edits these its so good xd
the top 3 was expected but still interesting video nontheless.
I assume in a couple years Urshifu & Shadowrider will make that list
Great timing for a video release
Recently, Miraidon had electro drifted the cake
They knew not to add xerneas because that fairy aura plus fluttermane gg
@@Lloco Xerneas itself + Tera and Tera Blast alone would be really obnoxious

Eric Andrey Rizzo: Why would Pokémon do this?
I’m kinda surprised no one from gen 1 or 2 was mentioned at all if for no other reason than that it seems like Zapdos and Suicune have always been some version of good but then what do I know
Zapdos, Suicune and Entei have been "good" or decent for a long time but never dominated, Ho-Oh never had the same presence in VGC as in Singles and Lugia + Mewtwo and the other sublegis pretty much always sucked in VGC, so i kinda get why they were not mentioned in this video except for Mewtwo.
@@anna_medeia fair, I guess it’s a little quantity over quality insofar as it’s unusual that they would have been as good for as long and still sometimes pop up in a niche even after power creep, not to mention they don’t have the same opportunity cost as restricted legendaries. And yeah I’ve basically never heard of Lugia, Ho-oh, or Mewtwo having much relevance in VGC
If Game Freak's impeccable balancing pattern holds true, Calyrex/Miraidon/Koraidon will be nerfed in gen 10 to make room for the new broken cover legendaries. A new GOAT may not be that easy to crown if we get a revolving door of broken legendaries that get nerfed back to somewhat reasonable levels a generation or two after their debut.
Calyrex dates back one gen, and it didn't get nerfed unlike Zacian though. It even got buffed.
The best legendary of all time is Kyogre and Groundon, the best of today is Urshifu and Calyrex Shadow. But if you want to know what is the best pokemon of all times, it's Incineroar.
Name of theme on 39:13?
The GOAT discussing the GOAT
One thing that I find fascinating is that Kyogre, Miraidon, and three of the Tapu’s set field effect that buff their own stab, meanwhile Groudon and Koraidon set sun but they are both physical focused when there is no physical equivalent to Heat Wave or Eruption and neither of which are fire type in their base form
It’s somewhat sad that Mega Charizard Y does a better job at powering its own fire stab than Groudon, Koraidon, or even Torkoal (85 Sp. Attack? Really?)
Torkoal would be way too strong with a higher SpA. Sun boosted full HP Eruption is an incredibly powerful move, even off of his lower base SpA. Adding tera just makes it even more destructive.
@@BWoodRap fair point, Tera boosted would make Torkoal too strong for a non restricted but without Tera boost (like when Tera is removed) I think 109 would have been a decent Sp. Attack stat for a non restricted (same Sp. Attack as base Charizard and Typhlosion)
@@typemasters2871it’s still insanely strong even without the tera boost especially in non restricted. If a mon can easily sweep a team in 2 turns already, it does not need more power. You can see it in reg H rn with pelliper. 95 base SpA is not very high, but it’s able to surprisingly high damage even on neutral hits. That’s with 100 bp weather ball and no dmg boosting item. Torkoal even with 10 less SpA using a 150 bp spread move with a dmg boosting item is more than enough. Even then, torkoal is often used as a support too not just a trickroom sweeper.
There may be stronger legendaries, but I just love the effect Tapu Fini has on the game. It really does feel like a relatively fair mon who's versatile and helps prevent a lot of infuriating RNG.
Used Wolfe Glick dialogue
Watching this after Miraidon and Urshifu have added a WC to their resumes
Before I watch I'm gonna predict Landorus makes at least top 5 if it's not objectively the best. And if Heatran could be included, it would be number 1. F in the chat for its Mythical status.
My top 5 predictions
5 Landorus
4 Cresselia
3 Raging Bolt
2 Groudon or Urshifu Water
1 Kyogre
Could be wrong though 🤷
Your memes are legendary

I think terra types made urshifu even more broken at least on casual i feel like even tho i did not play scarlet online i can see myself dont know what to do because as long there is irshifu on the field plus a pokmeon that can have a unpredictable type
Im in that mindset of should i use protect but i cant but if i i dont use it i still dont have a chance lol 😅

Urshifu won this year too.
Coming here after a 2nd player named Ray won the world championships. 🎉🎉
I think GameFreak should nerf Surging Strikes so that only the last hit is a guaranteed crit. It'd be a good first step, af least.
I would wish for Chris zhu to not have stolen my red sp in 2004…. I finally had gotten a dragon air
Ray, it is 12:30 AM EST
I love urshifu ❤😂
I hate that bastard😂
Not the $90 moves 😭😭
What website are you using to see vgc tournament teams
I definitely agree with kyogre even if I did not play gen6 upwards
Was also my guess
I'm sick of them trying to balance Legendaries, I'd give every Legendary Pokemon a stat boost to get them to a minimum of 650 and give them broken abilities that match them and type reworks for ones that need it
Example:
Moltres
Type: Fire / Flying
Ability: Drought
HP: 100
Attack: 50
Defence: 120
Sp Atk: 150
Sp Def: 120
Speed: 110
Total: 650
Let Legendaries be Legendary
No Zekrom, Reshiram, Black or White Kyurem is WILD smh
It's not, they always sucked or were at best mediocre in VGC and the one generation they could have actually been good there was no restricted format.
@@anna_medeia i respect your perspective, I’m biased because Zekrom is my favorite legendary Pokémon lol i don’t play VCG , mainly play Pokémon go lol
