      I thought it'd be harder at first too, but to be honest, I didn't figure it out on my own, I did a little bit of research first. I used to figure things out myself on my old trucks, and sometimes that meant things got broken. I'm trying not to break too much on this car lol. Thanks for the support!

      Now its just plastic clips and pieces that usually break off lol. I do sometimes miss how my old trucks were put together though. Its funny to watch Dodge put these cars together and then watch guys take them apart reducing weight end the end is it worth it and then start to leave parts off for good hey man I hope your killing it at the track. now all the Rattling is going to start..nice video on How To...

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, the rattling was already there and removing stuff actually got rid of it lol. Is it worth it? Absolutely! I'm routinely the quickest 1320 at the track and it's a convo starter to boot. Plus all the parts I take off get stored inside my house where they stay just like new. Best part is it doesn't have to be permanent. Eventually once I hit some 1/4 mile goals, I'm gonna do a video where i lay out everything I removed and put it all back together.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I haven't. A lot of times rattles seem to come from screws that aren't fully tightened. Knowing how windshields are attached I'd doubt that was it but it's possible. When I get a rattle I try to put pressure around the area or hit the panel I think it's coming from. If the rattle changes or goes away when I do, that helps me pin point where it's coming from.

    Hm, I think if you wanted to keep speakers in you’d want to keep the dash and pull the door and rear speakers. Lotsa dudes when they upgrade the speakers don’t even put in back speakers. 75% of the sound is from the front. Plus they’re the smallest and lightest by far.
    Dang good tutorial though, I could’ve used it last year when I upgraded the system in my SXT. I’m not bothering on the Scat Pack... the V8 sounds plenty nice!

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, but I'm looking to take out as much out as I can, even though they are really light. My plan is to actually build a box for just the rears so that if I do want some sound, I can just toss it in the trunk and plug em in, then be able to take it out for races within seconds. Don't tell anyone though, i was saving that bit for the video when I do that lol. Thanks for watching!

    @steelcowboy2751 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why anyone would remove their stereo speakers in a car to save a couple of pounds of weight defies logic; what about your navigation system (in car or in an app); I wouldn’t risk damaging the trim, the clips or scratching the car to save weight that wouldn’t possibly give a positive impact on performance. Then at the end you said you might just leave the trim panels off; insane.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only nav I use is Waze on my phone. There's always a risk in damaging trim even for simple things like stereo upgrades, minor repairs, etc. and clips are cheap and easy to replace. All the weight savings, even a pound here and a pound there absolutely add up to a very positive impact on performance. Just watch my drag racing videos for proof. I've already ran an 11.2 second quarter mile with a completely stock naturally aspirated motor, tune and trans thanks to all my weight reduction. And I did leave the trim panels off, and a whole lot more has come off since this vid.

    • @Scavenger1320

      @@steelcowboy2751 The best I did before the majority of my weight reduction was an 11.74. That was with just the seats out and some trunk trim. But my Holley MoParty vid shows the gains best. I raced a bunch of other 1320's there and was consistently over 3 tenths faster than most of them that had just a drag wheel setup. One 1320 I raced had headers and a tune done to his car along with the seats out and I was just as quick running an 11.53 to his 11.54. My car started out weighing 4140 pounds off the truck. Last time I weighed it I was down to 3685. I've removed a few more things now and I should be down to at least 3640, so 500 pounds total.
