    Hey I received your heads for a Christmas gift. But they got exposed to water during shipping, and they are now rusted. Will using the sharpening block restore the heads?

    Any advice about sharpening the tip?

    • @toothofthearrowbroadheads
      @toothofthearrowbroadheads  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@garohachigian339 we do not recommend sharpening the tip! The chisel point leads to a serious increase in performance on bone hits versus a broadhead that is sharpened equally to the tip

      Thank you for the reply. Copy, makes sense. But If I happend to blunt it, is there a preferred way to get it back to a point? Maybe a dowel wrapped in wet/dry sand paper?

      @@garohachigian339 you might take a small file to it and carefully work the edge. However it’s always good to have designated practice heads set aside, so if you can’t get it back to where you want it then it’s still a valuable head!

      You just balance the tip on the sharpener pushing it forward. Staying at the same angle as the tip

    What's the 600 grit for?

    • @toothofthearrowbroadheads
      @toothofthearrowbroadheads  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It takes them a step beyond factory sharpness!

    • @deanmccabe8783

      Start with the 320 grit if you’ve shot the broadhead into a target or animal, finish up with the 600. New broadheads I use the 600 to get then to the next level of sharpness!

      Normally the higher the sand paper the sharper the blade gets. I made them so sharp that I can shave with them.

    Do a quick video using this stone to sharpen your 2 blade single bevels

      This stone is only for our 4 blades, but any standard flat stone will work for the two blades

    What’s the best way to keep rust or get rust off of the heads?

    • @toothofthearrowbroadheads
      @toothofthearrowbroadheads  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A quick sharpen can get rust off blade edges. You can also leave a thin layer of oil on the head after sharpening to help prevent rust!

      Try some cooking oil. I personally don’t know, just heard that it works/helps.

      I use PB blaster pro or the regular and let it soak for a while then it wipes off very little effort needed, typically.👍🎯💯🥰😎

    I would think the angle u hold the arrow would affect how well the blade is sharpened.

    • @toothofthearrowbroadheads

      Yes absolutely. There is a ‘feel’ aspect to it that you develop, it’s all about light but even pressure!
