- “Orlando Sleepeth” is a pleasant piece by the English Renaissance lutenist John Dowland. I felt my interpretation of the piece had grown significantly enough from my original post in 2021 that it warranted a redo.

Beautiful Dowland. A great interpretation, you really create a wonderful mood…
Thanks, Daniel! I appreciate it!
Peaceful and Soothing ..🙏
Thanks again, Dad!
Very nice playing! Fountain and sunset were very beautiful too
Thanks, Dad! I appreciate it!
Such a beautiful guitar sound!I'm relaxed for your fantastic performance, dear my fingerstyle friend🎵😊❤
Thank you! I appreciate it!
@@Josh.Vanjani you are most welcome!😉💕
Delightful melody, Josh! Sounds so smooth! Love it! ❤
Thanks, Karlos! I appreciate your kind words!
Great stuff Josh! It's amazing what wonders nice scenery can do to nice music.
Thanks, Cosmik! I agree. On these pieces that have repeats, it makes the repeat less boring and--hopefully--keep the viewer engaged rather than skipping over it.
Hey Josh! Excellent playing and sound on this Dowland piece. Thoroughly enjoyed listening to it and watching 😀👍👏
Thanks, Gary! I appreciate the kind words!
So calming! You’re very talented😊
Thanks, guys! I appreciate it! And yes, this piece is almost like lullaby.
Hi Josh. Thanks for a guitar song in your new home! Beautiful close up of the fountain.
Thanks, Mette! I wanted to try out the acoustics inside first. I've scoped out a few spots for outdoor recording, but it's a bit different here. Might have to drive to a National Park sometime too!
@@Josh.Vanjani The acoustics must sound different in an empty room vs a furnitured room.
I can't wait to see where you'll go for outdoors playing. A National Park sounds really cool.
@@eagertoeatasmr Yes, that's very true! I wanted to do it this way because a lot of guys put artificial reverb, etc. and I wanted mine to be genuine. You see guys who sound like they're playing in Carnegie Hall but are really in a broom closet, ha ha.
@@Josh.Vanjani 😆 That is funny
Nice job Josh! Very nice playing. You already know my opinions on that guitar. It's beautiful and resonant!
Thanks, Justin! Yes indeed, that Brazilian Rosewood creates such a rich tone. I decided to do this one in 440Hz without a capo for a change too.
Beautiful music, Josh. Glad to see you've set up shop so quickly in VA!
Thanks, Brad! Yes, I'm getting there, ha ha. I've been scoping out locations for outdoor filming too, checking out local parks and other areas. Meanwhile, the acoustics in my Dad's studio are fairly good. It's very unforgiving though, you can't make a slight mistake without it being noticeable, but it was perfect to highlight the tonal nuances I put into this performance.
Nicely done dear Josh! 👌👏👏👏
Thanks, Andre! Glad you enjoyed!
Very good my friend perfect for some reflective thoughts
Thanks, Todd! Exactly what I was aiming for, that's great to hear!
enjoyed your wonderful redo Josh ,,,,,,,greetings Renee
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
I enjoyed this very much Josh. Your tone control was excellent. Your playing is becoming more artistic. Great job!
Thanks for the continued support, David!
Very calm and nice! I admire your guitar skills! Keep it up!
Thanks, Muse! I appreciate it!
Beautiful song and nice editing! 😊😊
Thanks, Rudolfo! My guitar is from Brazil (Giannini).
@@Josh.Vanjani wow, that's great
Great acustic and performance!!
Thanks, Matteo! I appreciate it! Yes, the acoustic down in the basement sounds almost like a concert hall.
Very nice playing👏👏
Muito obrigado, Aposentado! My Giannani guitar is from Brazil.
Great to see a new video from you Josh! And very nice playing! Hope the move went well and smoothly 👍🤘
Thanks, Wyatt! The move went well, but could have definitely been smoother. Overall I've been successful getting things done, it's just seemed harder to achieve them as there have been some roadblocks. I should have a new video uploaded Monday, I just filmed a Savarez string review.
Ótima música, parabéns 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Muito obrigado, Gil!
Talented, Such beautiful playing❤
Thanks, Spring! I appreciate it! Hope your own playing is going well.
@@Josh.Vanjani It is! This year will be my second year of playing the guitar! I’m hoping to buy an electric guitar someday but my parents aren’t too keen on the idea😂
The Giannini sounds great. I have a Giannini as well, but it is sort of a folk size.
Thanks, Florentin! I remember you had a Giannini baritone ukulele. I'll have to check out that video again.
Nice Josh!
Thanks, Drew! Glad you enjoyed!
A confident performance Josh. Hope the move goeth well!
Thanks, Steven! I'm moved in to my house in Virginia and almost have things settled. By the way, this was a "no nails" performance. I broke one of my nails while moving a box, so I started over.
@@Josh.Vanjani huh, I couldn't tell!
@@StevenWatsonMusic Maybe it's more noticeable in my "Romance Anonymous" short I just uploaded. In any case, I'll probably keep the nails off until I find a new job. Some folks erroneously equate the long nails with being unkempt.
👏Beautiful piece and excellent performance! Is this your new house? If so, don't furnish this room more than with that chair and you'll have a perfect studio for your guitar videos. Guess you've already thought about that. 😎
Thanks, Tomas! This is in the studio at my Dad's house, so it'll remain empty. It's a great acoustic, but an unforgiving one; can't make a mistake without it being obvious. Worked great for this piece though. I'll film something in my new house once it's more organized. I'd also like to film at a Civil War battlefield sometime too.
