    Hello friends,
and welcome back to Swift Guitar Lessons for another lead guitar tutorial. In today's session I'll be showing you how to embellish melodies using chord harmonies. We'll begin by developing a basic lead line over an Am, Dm, Gmaj, E7 progression, before inserting partials of those chords over specific notes in the melody. Let's get started!

There really is a lot here to unpack if a person (me) has put a lot of time into music theory (CAGED system) and scales. But looking at the I-ii-iii-IV-V-vi (in different voices) through one lens and the equivalent scale on the (high e string) lens and then allowing both lens to focus was ... unbelievable. Thank you. And I am guessing I should be able to see all the scales for all keys on all 6 strings.

I'm glad I've takien a monthly plan. I picked up on a basic posture recommendation that helped me with bar chords. Those details make a lot of difference for me as a beginner. Keep up the good work 👍

Thank you, very nice lesson! Can you push this a bit further. Without knowing the chord progression. What should we do if we only know the melody. I know I can dig to find the chord but let say we don't,. what would be the process?

Not all guitar melodies will allow you to harmonize them... Could you make an alternating bass line for say, Chet Atkins, Main Street Breakdown? It would benifit from some backing!

Why do so many people have to talk at 100 mph like their on meth? And lose that jump editing. It's really annoying. What's the big hurry? Is everyone so manic now that can't tolerate or two between sentences. You don't talk like this to people in real life. What's the point? If what you have to say is meaningful people will hang around for the rest of the vid.

So watch time is the main metric that TH-cam uses to rank videos. You might think that people will watch for extended periods if you’re message is substantive, but that’s not the case. Only a small fraction of viewers watch the complete video, where as most click off within the first few minutes. Deleting the dead space and using quick cuts to different camera angles is one of only a few proven methods to keep their attention and optimize watch time.
