- There has been a lot of great comic movies with some fantastic performances by specific actors in specific roles. With so many to choose from, I found a way to narrow it down to my top 10 (with some honorable mentions).

Limiting this to live action castings was a good idea since we all know a list of perfectly cast comic book characters in cartoons would’ve been dominated by Kevin Conroy.
Ya there's too many great voice actors. This list would have had to be much bigger or much different.
Steve Blum and Cal Dod are perfect as Wolverine. And josh Keaton as Spider-Man. Those are my favorite voice roles aside from Kevin Conroy
I know the movies weren't the greatest but this guy absolutely crushed it: Michael Chiklis as The Thing in the Fantastic Four films.

Loved the video, this list felt like a heartwarming trip through memory lane with these actors and characters!
I've seen many excellent additions here in the comments, but the one I wanna highlight is Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg.
I've known and liked the character since I was a kid thanks to Teen Titans and was pleasantly surprised when he became a member of the Justice League in the New 52 era but I've never got the same attachment i had to other DC characters with him.
That all changed with his DCEU incarnation. Not only his narrative and arc in ZSJL is so compelling, emotional and pivotal to the overarching story, but Ray's performance was phenomenal, giving us a tragic yet empowering journey that is so relatable and tugs at our heartstrings with his skill, elevating every scene he's in.
It's shows why Marv Wolfman, the co-creator of the character alongside George Pérez, sang his praises to this version of Cyborg when the Snyder Cut released.
It also helps that Ray is such a likeable and inspiring person, his passion for the character and the fans, his fight against Warner Bros's abuse, and overall charisma and commitment to everything he does.
This version of Cyborg and Ray Fisher's performance and overall character elevated it to become my second favorite DC character of all time, just behind Henry Cavill's Superman and right above all mantles and variants of Dick Grayson.
Cyborg was truly the heart of that film. And you're right, Ray Fisher performed it as perfect as it was written.
I would love to see a part two of this

Love the list. Jackman and Downey Jr. are AMAZING!!!!! I'm glad you added Deadpool in your honorable mentions. Reeves would be my Superman, but that's who I grew up with and remember seeing in theater and I can see why you had Cavill as yours. But.... Bale over Affleck 100% of the time. I like Ben, but love Bale's portrayal of both Bruce Wayne and Batman.
Every casting in The Batman is perfect. Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, and Paul Dano are all amazing
And it's strange, because few of them would have worked outside of the movie. I don't think Robert Pattinson would look right next to a Henry Cavill Superman or a Gal Gadot Wonder Woman. Paul Dano as the Riddler was awesome, but he wouldn't work next to any of the former Batman versions (maybe Bale, but I'm not sure.) The movie is its own thing and it does its own thing perfectly.
Yea I agree with this as well. I like Chris Evans as Captain America Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther. I like Stephen Anell as Green Arrow and I’m not backing down from it. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman isn’t bad either or Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow
Some of my favorite casting choices would include Chris Evans as Human Torch. He played the immature Johnny Storm so well, I was worried when he was cast as Captain America. Which brings me to my next pick. Chris Evans as Captain America nailed it. Chris Hemsworth has the perfect build and voice as Thor. I just wish they didn't give him such goofy scripts. Keeping with the Chris theme, Chris Pratt as Star Lord. He nailed the character and it launched him into stardom. Cumberbatch as Dr Strange. Chadwick as Black Panther. Hiddleston as Loki. Charlie Cox as Daredevil.

Yes yes yes, HEATH LEDGER!!! 100%%% I was a huge fan of Christian Bale as batman. I love Hugh Jackman for Wolverine. Cavill and Reeves, best Supermans ever! Great casting choices. Great video TMM!!
I'd say Liam Neeson as Ra's Al Ghul fits on here. I can't picture someone else playing him, he'd need a very good portrayal to top Neeson. Also Cillian Murphy, but I think Scarecrow has a lot of different directions you can take with his character. Cillian Murphy Scarecrow is a great scarecrow, but he's not *the* Scarecrow. Same with Tom hardy Bane, cool version, but he only works in that one movie. Same with Heath Ledger, honestly. He's a great version of the Joker, but other people can play the Joker. I personally grew up with Nicholson as the Joker, and while he's not my favourite of all time (*coughs* Mark Hamill *coughs*) he seems very true to the comics and also fits with the 1989 movie.
The greatest comic book castings ever were Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as The Joker.
For animation and voice work, for sure.
I respect the list. For me though, my Superman is Christopher Reeve. Both Henry Cavill and Brandon Routh needed more time to shine as the character for me. I also would like to throw out J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Michael Keaton as Vulture or Batman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Margot Kidder as Lois Lane and of course many more where those came from.
My Superman is Christopher Reeve too, and I don't think anything can change that. Also, I totally agree that Michael as Batman and Vulture worked perfectly for both characters, and I can see him as both of them without the two conflicting.
I don't think there's one person on this list I disagree with you on. Such good choices, these actors really do embody the characters they play, e.g. Wolverine, Professor X, Magneto and even tho he killed on screen, Ben affleck as Batman was great casting in my opinion . One of my Picks would be Wesley Snipes as Blade from the Blade trilogy. Keep up the great work.🍻😊

Anyone who has read a comic of Iron Man would tell RDJ performance is a terrible adaptation of OG Iron Man, he litterally has 0 RESEAMBLENCE to the original character.
Now to be fair, that's not exclusive of him, THE CUM has that awful tendency where the actors never act, they just play themselves🙄
Besides, he never fought The Mandarin so that technically doesn't make him a TRUE iron man
no adam west is criminal imo the guy perfectly encaptured what silver age batman was at the timeand was so ood in the role the charcter became more like him until the bronze age

How you can find room for Michael Shannon and not even have Chris Evans or Chris Hemsworth in the honorable mentions is beyond me. But James Marsden gets a nod?!
Because I think there are others who could have done Captain America and Thor just as good. Thats how.
Hugh Jackman did a great job because he can act. That doesn't make it great casting. He os nothing like wolverine in any category whatsoever.
I mean it would have to be categorized as a great casting if he's universally loved, plays the character well and has been entrusted to do so for over 20 years. If we really want an actor who's under 5'4, very hairy, stocky and has energetic rage, I'm sure Danny DeVito is available.
Calling anything with Ben Affleck batman perfect is embarrassing but whatever😂 cavill was barely even superman to be the greatest
