    Thanks for sharing your adventures. They are really helping me get trough the Corona times. What struck me about your fly box is that the barbs were still attached. Is that allowed anywhere in your country? Here in Europe this has been partly restricted, not to damage the fish too much. Thank you for your answer. cheers

    • @TroutHuntingNZ

      Yes it is allowed here, but I try to remember to crush them so to be kind to the fish

    When swinging lures do you ever try classics like Medicine, Stoats Tail, Blue Charm etc.? I’ve been lucky enough to fish Tongariro a few times but stuck to WollyB, Parsons Glory etc when fishing down and across.

    great vid, mate. That dry take was beautiful, though some of the purists would be spinning in their graves at the downstream bend you had going on in the line just before it. Another second and it was drag city. I was mending for you!! Love the glimpse of your flies. A big part of the art of fly fishing, I reckon. Gold to see what an expert uses. Intriguing that you use bead flies even as the dropper. Presumably not tungsten, just copper. I've always used a lighter fly trailing, but you certainly get the results.

    • @TroutHuntingNZ
      @TroutHuntingNZ  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thor_68 hi mate I had already mended the crap out of that, the slow mo doesn’t do it justice but where the fish is it’s hardly moving and the water between is really fast. I had to reach and hold with no more mends as the fish was coming and would have spooked him if I moved fly. . Like a say in full speed you would understand . But cheers anyway

    • @thor_6886
      @thor_6886 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TroutHuntingNZ Haha, should have known there was more than met the eye in that situation. That shute of fast water between you and the fish was causing havoc. Stunning stream, great fishing, great video.

    Lovely box Alex :o) Nice vid Gareth!
    It's hard to see the indicator in some vid's... something bigger, brighter?? Always good to see the take... to be fair this vid isn't bad.

    • @TroutHuntingNZ
      @TroutHuntingNZ  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Richard Thoms high mate thanks heaps. The indicator is small because the water can be so clear that you spook fish easily, and also there nicer to fish with. Cheers
