    Wow I'm so proud to be cis right now (not)! Between the ignorant questions and the hateful comments, I give up. I, for one, salute Chaz Bono for his amazing bravery in taking this journey so publicly and show the trauma and triumphs that are encapsulated by this condition. As for his girlfriend, she had the choice to leave when he came out...many do but I should imagine she stayed because her love for Chaz was genuine rather than based on his gender. I'm sure they sat down together and talked it through before Chaz went pubic so that she had an understanding of what it entailed and the impact on her life. She chose to stay and looks rather happt if you ask me. I love Chaz and everything he stands for, he rocks.

    chaz looks so incredibly happy . When you look at pictures and interviews of Chaz prior to this transition . She looked so sad all the time hardly ever smiled you can see the anxiety . But as Chaz he is so happy smiles all the way. I am glad this surgery was available to him. I just think its such a deep heart wrenching transformation for everyone involved.

    There are many disrespectful comments about this video. Chaz Bono is not a lesbian. He is a transgendered male. That makes him as much of a man as any physical man. He is a role model to every transgendered person, and even myself, a straight female, because of his courage and dedication to finally becoming who he really is: a man. I admire him for that courage, but appreciate that charismatic personality. He is a person, nothing short of that :)

    After watching this, I feel a lot of emotions, but perhaps the most prominent feeling is pride. I don't know Chaz, I don't know what type of person he is, but for whatever reason I feel so proud of him for the quiet confidence and strength he has shown in the face of such ignorance and hatred that still permeates our society. I wish him all the best, and I hope that he won't let anyone take away the happiness he so rightfully deserves.

    Chaz is so kind. I think this type of life experience makes a person more kind. At this distance it is impossible to know for sure what he is like, but he has certainly put himself out there. He makes it easier for anyone to to decide to choose the life they want to live.

  • @TheSmokinBear

    Wow. He is the paradigm of grace under pressure from virtually every corner of the world. Good for Chaz. Very eloquent man. I remember watching Sonny & Cher as a kid and how often Chastity closed the show. I am a straight happily married person and initially I was shocked by the change but therein lies the rub. People fear change. Listening to his commentary reveals what a clear, decent person he is.

    I was a grown person watching Chastity on Sonny & Cher....I had my own child. Chastity ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS appeared to me as a frightened, timid child and not at ease with her own being. As she grew into a teen, I saw it too, even before she came out. I still see it now. Her eyebrows and eyes are never not sad. Her smile is a 'withholding' kind of smile. She still seems completely ill at ease in her demeanor. A kind heart and sounds smart, but still that timid, frightened person.

    Very good nature individual. The beginning of a new era/culture. I would say that there are a lot of people who are inspired by this. Besides, no one is exact on their hormone levels. There are a lot of men walking around with more female hormones than male hormones. This person here has been courageous as we can see, and I for one appreciate that. Another thing, this individual shows a lot of love for others, that in itself is amazing. I would love to meet this person for real.

    @spike19169115 That's a good and fair question. My answer would be that insulin is a drug to make someone healthier, to cure someone. I don't think hormones cure anything. Not in this case, anyway. Change someone, yes, but cure, no. But you have a point.

    I find it very interesting that Chaz is telling us that with the male hormones he has a harder time talking a lot and listening as much as before. We should all take notice that a big part of the differences between men and women is somewhat hormone driven so we should give each other a break and just enjoy the differences!

  • @riv3rss
    @riv3rss 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    i/we/you cannot judge him!!
    it's his body, AND his right to do whatever it is he wants to do with his body! so i mean how cool is just to accept and RESPECT somebody's decision! and we have to embrace that sexual orientation is NOT actually a sin, as it is believed by groups in society! i think it's just a matter of time for society to evolve and develop certain respect/acceptation attitudes towards the ones that are DIFFERENT and UNIQUE as a person and as a HUMAN BEING!!

  • @Bevity
    @Bevity 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know a woman who used to be a man and she said that she feels far more calm than she did as a man due to the testosterone level, and she doesn't feel aggressive like she did as a man. Chaz went the opposite way and says that he has trouble listening to women chatter, just like a MAN! It's kind of making me believe that men mostly can't help being they way they are, it's because of that dang testosterone! I am so GLAD I am a female, have always been a female and will always be one.

    @whatiswhatwillbe that's absolutely right. Just one thing, no matter if she had a ''sex replacement operation'', her breast removed (I call mutilation), anyway, if she's happier I figure it's sort of okay, but the fact is she'll never be a man. It doesn't even matter if the law acknowledges her as a man, she's still a woman. You're a man if you were born a man, you're a woman if you were born a woman.

    He is really brave for having done this, but at the same time he probably didn't hav a choice. It was either do this and risk being bullied for ever or live a very unhappy life. He seems very happy now and wish him all the best in his life.
    Cher said to David Letterman that she was so comfortable with being a woman that if she one day woke up in a mans body, she would have thought "wow I have to get out of this body". I feel that too. We must feel comfortable with ourself or we can't be happy.

But all the haters out there don't have to come on TH-cam and start being rude and ugly to someone that has done nothing to you. Chaz looks, in my opinion, a lot better as a guy. I NEVER said anti gays aren't educated. An education is something anyone can get, it's mechanical learning. What I said was, most of them aren't intelligent enough to beat the ones that really matter since they don't use logic deeply. Intelligent people (not necessarily educated) are the important allies. Educated is more about how well you memorize books, intelligence is about how you analyze and bring results.

    The difference between fe/male brains aren't small.Chaz was taught like a girl because she has a female brain/vibe. Demeanor/Mannerisms are NOT socially taught; it's biological. Fe/males can be shy but the way the shyness is expressed is DIFFERENT because of the BRAIN. I'm female with a male brain and was ALWAYS treated like male due to mannerisms. Nobody taught me how to express myself or taught me how to think or how to be gay; I just was. Though they did teach me to baby women.

    @sherribailey75 on the contrary... by playing devil's advocate fo a minute, Chaz can address the stupid misconceptions people have. Sexual matters out of the common norms scare people. Cher has had so many drag queens sing her songs, by itself she's an icon in the gay cmmunity. Your support here makes you way above that. God love you two, thank you for being so strong and open.

    Lets face the facts; some people are born in the wrong body!I grew up w/ a guy who was so pretty and feminine,in high school he took alot of shit!A very sad boy.Isaw him/her 15 years later as a woman and she was so happy and such a sweet person! Shes a day care teacher who is adored by her students and is such a positive kind loving human being that volunteers to help the homeless etc.So lets let them be happy,ok?

    The U.S. marines are tough! They can bravely defeat any child. A pregnant woman is no match for a squadron of brave marines either! And the elderly? They'd better say their prayers when the U.S. marines come to town!
