I've just watched all your videos over the past few days and have really enjoyed them. I notice in this video when you were sitting beside your mast that the tack of your main is not lashed to the boom. You should lash it to the boom or at least hook it on the reefing hook., it will prevent damaging the foot of the sail and greatly improve the shape of the sail.
Thank you very much! Yes we had also noticed this, we’re not sure at what point this happened! Alas this turns out to be the sail’s final season as it’s stretched so much. It’s certainly done well though, lasting nearly 25 years!
The metal sculptures in Stonehaven are incredible, see stopped (by car) on the way to Aberdeen/Shetland last year and really loved the town. Great video's by the way, need more fish & chip reviews - Arbroath smokie rolls are worth a try (even though you are back home now!)
We live in Craster Kipper territory, so I was looking forward to trying a Smokie! It wasn’t bad, I found it better to take the fish off the bone and pin bone it as a lot of hard bones, but the taste was great!

My money on the woo-woo sound is a resonance in the rigging. Doesn’t sound like the prop to me. My suggestion is when you hear the woo-woo, go around and simply hold each piece of the standing rigging. Can you feel it vibrate and does your hand damp and stop it? Of course, if it’s the upper rigging, you might be down to just seeing if you can feel a vibration. Possibly a tweak of the tension might cure the sound. It might also be in a halyard or some other part of running rigging … unless you’ve got to love it 🙂

The woowoo might be your prop spinning. Put it into gear when sailing and it'll stop the noise ( and wearing out the bearings ) Engine squeaks need checked out
Agreed, or its the cutlass bearing, but there will be enough mileage for them to get home hopefully.
Unfortunately the woo woos are still there even when in gear! I think the stuffing in the packing gland is saturated and perhaps the increased friction is causing the noise.
Could the "woo-woo" be the sound of a Welsh terrier suffering some serious nipple-chafe after an overly vigorous belly rub 😂

We're in the process of working that out :) but the adventure won't be over, that's for sure. We're both hoping for some more ☀️
