That at-bat could've been the last ever ab of Pete Alonso's Mets career. It could've ended his stay with the only pro team he has ever known in such a deflating way, capping off an incredibly frustrating season for him individually. But with one swing of the bat, Pete Alonso hit by far the biggest HR of his life, and in doing so not only ensured that wouldnt be his last at bat as a Met, but it would also mean he gets at least another game in front of the only home fans hes ever known as a pro.

@@GiantsJets718 First of all, how can you be a Yankee and a Mets fan? As a diehard fan that makes me wanna puke. 🤮 Then you say don’t let one clutch moment cloud your judgment because he’s never been clutch? Since when does being clutch override what a player does year in and year out? How about the fact that since Alonso came into the league in 2019 he has the 2nd most Homeruns in all baseball only 6 less than Aaron Judge?? oh and by the way, what did he do in 2019 in his rookie season he said the all-time record for most Home runs as a rookie with 54. Yes it would be nice if he hit for a better average but over his first 6 seasons, his stats come out to .260/97RBIs/38HRs per year and I don’t care what you say any player that puts up those numbers is going to get a huge deal. I would love for him to come back. I just hate the fact that he signed Scott Boris as his agent which automatically means they are going to ask for a minimum of seven years. The Braves signed Matt Olsen to an 8 year $168 million contract and Alonso has been better than him. it would be amazing if Pete settled for a maximum of a six year contract with more money guaranteed per year because then the Mets would entertain that. he’s 29 years old and I’m a strong believer in not signing players to contracts where they will be 37 or 38 years old at the end of it. Greatest week in Mets history besides 1986. (For me). Two all time improbable comebacks in 4 days.
Pete Alonso giggling immediately after hitting the ball has to be one of the most iconic baseball moments ever
Pirates fan here. Go Mets Go!! Would love to see you dudes win it all.
Nah!! People want to see a classic Yankees vs Dodgers World Series!
@@anthonydonatelli5906, I'm just happy to see the Astros and Braves out lol.
@@anthonydonatelli5906, if the Mets win this upcoming series against the Phillies, would you want to see them go all the way?
Pirates fan here too! They traveled to the Burgh in Steelers fan type numbers a few months ago and they were all cool people.. They deserve this! Enjoy the run Mets fans
@@socraytes No! cause I want to see Aaron Judge vs Ohtani playing in the World Series! 😁😁 that would be more exciting!
LEGENDARY CLUTCH MOMENT! YA GOTTA BELIEVE!!!
Being a Mets fan is not for the weak. You get cortisol spikes.
As a Giants fan, I would expect the Mets to comeback because New York teams are so good in general.
You'd be wrong any other year besides this year.
@Pat_McRotch88 The Giants, The Jets and the Mets have been God awful 😂. I don't now what Marcus has been watching 😂
@KathiStarns it's ok we all know your a Brewers fan going through the first stage of grief
@@KathiStarns don’t forget the Knicks for 2 decades until recently.
@bashlorhatesyou I'm a baseball fan. Actually have detroit winning the ws 😅
I can't believe what I just saw. I was talking to my friend and was telling him we're not done yet. LFGM
Thank you grandma for making me a Mets fan :)
_Somewhere, a one Mr. Jerry Seinfeld is likely celebrating such an exciting & legendary 9th inning comeback win by his forever team... The New York Metropolitans!_
Nice series... down to the wire. Both teams were SOLID. Great baseball, all around.
I loved rewatching this. I just noticed the Polar Bear laughing when he made contact , and screaming let’s f’n go while rounding the bases. Greatest Met moment! I loved it. Thanks MLB. What a glorious time to be a Mets fan. Ya gotta believe!!!!!
The audio is messed up at 16:43 where you hear the hit before Marte makes contact at 16:45. Good job MLB network. World class production right here.
Love the comeback!! Wish we could hear the game being called by the best announcers in baseball!! Gary, Keith and Ron!!
Let's go boys. They have been doing this all year. What an amazing comeback. Thanks boy, kudos Pete!!! lGM
Living these moments with my Dad who showed me what it is to be a Mets fan. Know they have what it takes to go all the way. Lets go Mets!!!!!
when the mets are back in business they mean it
9:34 You can just barely hear Alonso shouting "Let's f-ing go!" multiple times as he's rounding the bases. Amazing.
16:45 - Word is, Milwaukee's ground crew is still trying to dig out Jesse Winker's helmet from home plate.
“It is still there, a monument to his victory over his former team and the fans that were booing him.”
Also I just recently learned something about him, he’s from NY. He’s from Buffalo, NY.
No wonder he feels at home on the Mets.
As a long suffering Mets fan, thank you so mcuh to Mendonza, Lindor, the entire Mets roster and most importantly the Big Polar Bear Pete Alonso for an incredible moment to take us to the 2024 NLDS. Something Mets fan will truly never forget. I absolutely love this team and the heart each and everyone has man. I couldnt stop shaking. OMG!! ON TO THE PHILLIES!
listened to it on the radio ... you could tell it was hit well because the announcers were pissed
Yeah, I heard it from a Brewers feed, and they were so anti-climatic lol. Glad they're gone!
Grimace truly has powers beyond our understanding
6:15 look at all those giddy smiling Brew Crew fans, at least they stayed with their team til the end! gotta respect a fan-base like that!
what a AB by Lindor to start it off
MASSive kudos for MLB not bleeping out the Fbombs. Love seeing the boys absolutely fired up!
Thank God my dad got a pacemaker and blood pressure medicine a couple years ago or else idk if could’ve handled this lol. We went from being so low we were almost under the floorboards to nearly exploding through the ceiling with happiness in a second
Yankee fan and thrilled with that Mets win, just amazing. It’s been a magical season for you guys!
under-appreciated detail here is Jesse Winker SPLINTERING his helmet after he scored
Sooooooo....awesome!
This team is close nit. Once on base it's an avalanche. You can't stop the bleeding. GO METS. BELIEVE. WE NEED THIS.
New age miracle mets !
This will never get old
I was getting ready to come on here and congratulate Brewer fans. I still had some hope left. Then the Polar Bear blasted a 3-run homer outta nowhere. Definitely tough way to lose for the Breweres. They still had a very good season.
I'm not a huge baseball fan, but playoff baseball is insanely entertaining and especially when my Tigers make it once every 10 years lol. This was an awesome game to watch.
Turned this on in the 9th thinking damn Brewers got this and like 2 mins after I turned it on this happened lol. Crazy comeback
Just became a Mets fan back in May. I tuned into this game around the 6th or 7th inning and I got to say, I don’t think I’ve been on edge more than I was in the 9th. Way to Pete! Let’s go Mets! 😮💨👏
The Miracle Mets again? I think so.
Wow as a Mets fan I’m shocked but so happy
Padres vs. Mets NLCS. I'm calling it now.
I want to see that so badly
I don’t know. The padres and dodgers match-up is unpredictable. The dodgers are absolutely stacked. Although the padres are probably warmed up and ready to steam roll. So who knows?
@@edgoodwin4389dodger don’t have the pitching to deal with San Diego
Ain't no way Mets are beating Philly
Delusional
Padres vs Phillies. Padres in 5. The Pads are just so incredibly above everyone else right now
I am still stunned!!! I couldn't sleep last night thinking about that 9th inning!!! Let's go Mets!!!
There's a Brewers fan out there yelling who really hates Winker lmao
Pretty sure that’s why he slammed his helmet lol They were on him all game.
Yankees Fan here. Bronx born and raised.
That being said, This season for the Mets has been special! Keeping my fingers crossed for a deep playoff run for yall, Bronx and Queens against The World!
Mets got the magic after that Braves series. They will make a run.
Fan since 1962. This was a top 10 moment. So was the Linder HR a few days ago.
Phillies are done. I have zero confidence that we’re going to beat them. Mets are the hottest team in the league and the Phillies slumped into the playoffs. This Mets team is running on devil magic just like us in 2022. We’re gonna go full 2022-2023 Braves.
I said this - the Mets will do to Philly what they did the Braves the last two years.
lol devil magic hahaha. It’s gonna be a great series.
Stop giving us Mets fans false hope😂
Mehhhh. I'm sticking with the phils
Tigers are hotter imo.
The happiness and joy of game 6 world series 1986 is happening again tonight ❤ let's go METS
I Feel Safe 😊in New York City (AC DC and Mets and Yankees and Rangers ALL ROCK 🎸 😎).
I'm a lifelong Yankees fan, but I'm super envious of Mets fans right now because this team is just so exciting. And I will be surprised if they do not make it further into the postseason than their crosstown rivals.
