Just like in 2020, Padres and their fans got very cocky. Machado, Tatis and Profar really needed that humbling experience. Shoutout to Merrill and Bogey for being troopers and just acknowledging their loss with the rest of the dugout - the three stooges couldn't be bothered.
Here after the 2024 season is over and this was probably the deciding series for who was gonna win it all, nobody was gonna stop the dodgers after this. I don’t think I’ve seen a worse collapse by a team either. Padres fought hard in game 1, dominated game 2, and held on for game 3 only to get shutout for 24 innings. Shoutout to the dodger bullpen.
I say it would have been too easy if Ohtani went off like in the Reg. season right? Don't lose faith yet there is still 8 games left to win a 2nd World Series since the 2020 season!
The Padres lost the series when Profar caught Betts HR and took his time to show that he did make the the catch. That was very disrespectful and woke up the Dodgers.
As a die hard Dodgers fan since I was a kid growing up in Compton. Win or lose imma always be a fan of the sport. La has always been home, but I welcome all teams our squad competes against. With dat being said, Lesssss fucking goooo Blueee!!!! I’m here for all of it! This is our year i know it!!!
now this was a fun and competitive series. Padres just failed clutch hitting with runners on base. Yamamoto redeemed himself in game 5 with great outing. Darvish showing he's one of the best Japanese pitchers.
Darvish is insane in the sense that he has basically every pitch in his arsenal, a pitcher with little to no weaknesses. Yamamoto wasn’t 100% for this postseason but really locked in after that first game against the Padres. I think his legacy will continue to grow very fast as long as he stays healthy.

That was a hell of a series. I couldn't believe LA won this series in the end. The pitching and hitting was in favor of SD. Shildt starting Cease in Game 4 on short rest was questionable, but the fact that SD's offense literally stopped scoring was crazy. After that EXPLOSIVE showing in the 2nd inning of Game 3, they stopped scoring. Insane. 10 hits, 4 walks, and 19 strikeouts from that point forward. Yu Darvish doesn't deserve blame for last night. He pitched a hell of a game despite making 2 mistakes.
That's Baseball right? Only made 2 mistakes but... you still get the loss!!! So the Dodgers don't deserve to win? Playoff Baseball winners advance losers go home!

This series was off the chain. This series felt way more intense of a rivalry conpared that with the Giants. This series had it all. The only two thing that was missing were missing were walkoff wins and a perfect game/no hitter.
I know probably nobody’s going to read this, but thank you if you do. So, this is my first year following the team, and it’s been amazing. My family, growing up, didn’t really watch too many sports, although they were Giants fans when it came to it (I know it’s blasphemy, but I can never hate San Francisco). I knew nothing about any of the teams, so I did a Google search on what the most interesting team to follow would be. I watched old highlights to familiarize myself with the Dodgers’ recent history. I don’t like the Astros, and I don’t like the Padres, but I can find some sympathy for San Diego and their players, even if most of them are a bit too punkish for my liking. They’ve been trying to “slay the dragon up north” for a while, and it must be frustrating to always be second place. So while I relish this victory, I’m not going to gloat about it. The Padres are a good team, and they’re likely going to be competing for the division from day one next year. In summary, thank you Padres for a good series, and Go Dodgers.
Interesting! I like your opinion. As a 14 year old who’s followed the dodgers very closely over the last 7 years now, I have a slightly different view. The padres have been trying to “slay the dragon” for a while but they did! They did in 2022. 2022 we won 111 games and lost in 4 against the padres. Last year against the dbacks was even worse. I can’t personally force myself to appreciate the padres at all to be honest. Just because of profar and machado they’re basically unwatchable for me. I respect that you’re able to move past that but nothing could have made me feel better than beating the padres.
@@wolfboy8667 I think it’s easier because I didn’t personally experience being eliminated by them. If we had lost this game I probably would feel different… I definitely don’t appreciate them, their antics are extremely bothersome. But here’s to a World Series Championship! 🍺
