I just ordered my Ender Extender 400xl kit and I am looking forward to it coming, I print Christmas decorations and Coaplay weapons and Armor. Looking forward to being to print in 1 long print compared to 2 long prints
Thank you! The build plate in this video was a 2'x2' mirror I got from Home Depot that I then cut using a cheap glass cutting blade. You can actually see my mistake at 3:55 in the back right corner. After the mirror broke I then I purchased a 16"x16" mirror from Vancouver Glass. They were about $20CAD each. Now I am using G10/FR4 Sheets from McMaste-Carr, I found that the 1/8" thick works AMAZING. I will never print on glass again. I bought 24"x36"x1/8" for about $70USD that I then cut using a Table Saw into 2 build plates.
I have a regular ender 3 (not a v2), and I'm trying to figure out do I need the 4040 vslot 500 length or the 2040 vslot 500 length for the y-axis, I have the kit but on a 4040 my belt it too long and on a 2040 the nuts that hold barrings in place stretch a little past it, allowing the bed to move only in the space if a regular ender 3 bed area.
Hey! Thanks for watching! I have a regular Ender 3 and the 2040 vslot worked for me, here's a link to a picture of my front pulley and rear endstop, hopefully it can help! www.lucasbuildsstuff.com/ender3-y-axis-pictures/
I've been printing vehicle parts lately and it's been amazing! The highest I've printed has been been 240mm and I don't think I'll be going much higher as that print took 38 hours and 400g of filament. The widest I've printed was 360mm x 260mm and had no issues. TeachingTech has a great installation video, also make sure to reduce your y-axis acceleration, I found the bed shook when it was too high as it's a heavy glass bed. Also I don't know if this would be a problem for 300mm beds but I will be upgrading the 400mm bed to an AC Heat Bed because when I print PETG the bed takes 15+ minutes to heat up to 80C. I'll probably be buying a few of the 400mm kits for my other printers!

That's awesome! A year later and I'm still super happy with the kit, I would recommend getting a BLTouch/ABL if you don't have one already!
Very nice! May I ask where you got the mirror build plate or what you made it out of? Thanks

@@LucasBuildsStuff Thank you very much
Thanks for posting your build. How's that extender kit working out? I've been thinking about adding the 300mm sized kit to my non-pro Ender-3.
