Building an 8ft Orbital Camera Rig for $50
I wanted to create better timelapses for my videos but Orbital Camera Rigs are retailing for $1500-$2500, way out of my budget. So in this video I Design, Code and 3D Print an Orbital Camera Rig that is completely App Controlled using an ESP32, LM2596 Buck Converter and A4988 Driver.
*You can download all the STL files here:* lucasbuildsstuff.com/products/orbital-camera-rig-stl-file
*You can download the code here:* github.com/LucasBuildsStuff/orbital-camera-rig/
_The A4988 may be too noisy for non timelapse applications, I would recommend trying the TMC2208._

3D Printed Modular Soldering Fume Extractor

I designed and 3d printed a soldering fume extractor attachment for the modular magnetic exhaust system to vent the toxic soldering fumes. I designed the attachment with future expandability in mind and to be able to be easily adapted to other tasks. In this video I am using an Ender 3 with an Ender Extender 400XL Kit. In this video I design and 3D print Headlights for my 2017 Chevrolet Silverado! This is my story of how I did it in 17 days. In a nutshell, I went out and bought a CR Lizard 3D Scanner, scanned the headlights of my truck, designed a concept to fit within the bounds, printed it and used addressable RGBW LEDs to bring it all together! *To see more project information and files:* lucasbuildsstuff....
DIY Wooden Truck Cap Camper Walkthrough
มุมมอง 49Kปีที่แล้ว
In this video I give a walkthrough of a popup truck cap camper I built for my 2017 Silverado 1500. The frame/structure is built entirely out of wood and uses aluminum composite panels for the doors. I decided to use wood as Aluminum was too expensive when I estimated the materials out. When closed my overall height of my truck is 88 inches and the camper weighs about 600lbs. *Adjustable knot vi...
3D Printed Modular Magnetic Exhaust!

I built a completely modular magnetic exhaust system for my 3d printer enclosures to vent the potentially toxic fumes 3d printing can release. 3 Doors, No Hinges, Massive 3D Printer Enclosure
มุมมอง 11Kปีที่แล้ว
My previous enclosure wouldn't fit through my office room doors so I designed some new ones that could easily be disassembled and reassembled! The new design also addresses some of the short comings of the old enclosure: Poor visibility, poor lighting, bulky, and it was hard to work on the printer. This design can be scaled to fit any size printer, even an Ender Extender 400xl! In this video I ...

Depends on what you're printing, I know ABS needs a heated chamber while most PLA is indifferent. Running the exhaust does lower the temperature a little bit 🤔

Great build. If I ever do one myself I would model this one for sure. Question: In terms of mold and mildew management, I presume one would just pull out the canvas side sections and dry them out? Would that be sufficient to take care of mold and mildew? Again, nice build!

To use a tourbillon just as a decorative piece was a bit counterintuitive and a little offensive considering the table itself is a watch however it is 3d printed so to use it for it's purpose will make it inaccurate so I'lll let it slide. Though the work put into the figuring the amount of steps for the stepper motor is admirable and well done. Nevertheless, great job on the project.

The magnets such a crisp feel and sound. Love it. I think the computer fans would have been enough. The inline fans are great but more useful in a grow tent for hydroponics. I would probably do the computer fan setup and throw a small fan on the bottom of the printer to move air around in the printer while the exhaust fans run on a timer.

My biggest question is how did you find straight 2x8s because all the long 2x4s at my local big box stores are all warped. Thought about doing this with a 3/4" plywood frame then laminate them together to make the frame out of 1.5" plywood. Think that would be strong enough?

    • @LucasBuildsStuff
      @LucasBuildsStuff 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

I played with the curve in the wood. The long 2x8s on the sides are placed like a smile, while the ones on the front/back are placed like rainbows. The 2x4s on the roof are all placed like rainbows. The reason the 2x8s on the sides are different is because the main support is in the middle. I'm not a carpenter though, so I did what seemed to make the most sense, I'm not sure about plywood 🤔
