Imagine watching this movie in the summer vacation on a rented VCD in the house of the only kid which had VCD player. 7 of us 10-12 yr olds were mesmerized by what we were watching. This brings back lots of memories !
There's a longer version of the movie, that shows some gore moments (like blood in the final match, lots of blood actually and on the scene when the main character threw the player who slide onto him the opponent actually kept holding the leg and the captain of the Team Evil kicked on the leg, that was cut as well), but also in the beginning the "Golden Leg" used to be vain himself. He took money for missing that penalty kick and used the guy who became the new coach of the team to tie his shoes in the same way the coach did to him later. And there's also a scene before the final game when the Coach of the Team Evil offers team Shaolin money for losing the game and that offer was declined on the terms that Team Shaolin believed that they could win the game. That's why Team Evil was so keen on just destroying the opposition.
